The dough is spectacular! Tried the beef and onion and the piroshky was jam packed with tons of tasty beef. And all for only $ 5!

We’d never had peroshki before so we were excited to give it a try. It was great! We got several and all of them warm and tasty. Super nice guy working there too which is always nice.

I’m Russian and have been eating Piroshkis my entire life. The dough on these is quite good, but the fillings are not authentic and can be had better elsewhere(like Moscow & Tbilisi Bakery). The potato one was the only one that I liked, while the beef and cabbage which strangely has strong oregano spice were not winners.

As a true Russian I appreciate a good borsch. The borsch at this place is just Ok though. It’s too plane and it’s really missing beef in it. The traditional beat soup is made with beef broth. The pirozhki are pretty tasty. The best is the desert — Muraveink(with dulce de leche in the dough). I wish Anna was still making those delicious Orezhki(with dulce de leche inside) — my husband and I tried them almost 3 years ago and we still cannot forget them. They were the best. But this place stop making them, too bad.

Yummy yum, perushki like they sell at the church, but 2.0 version. The bread surrounding the goodies inside was great and a perfect balance of meat/veg to bread ratio. I like spanakopita so I had the feta and spinach, washed down with some pear soda. Standard meat and onions, along with some other creative fillings put a spin on the traditional.

Loved the Piroshkis. They are soft, tasty, and filling! I’ve tried a few different ones — the spinach and cheese, cabbage ragout, and potato. Each was delicious and had a unique flavor. Heard the beef and cheese one is great too. You can now order Anda Piroshki’s items online at , so you get your desired quantity at your desired time, for pick-up at the Haight location. Very convenient.

While I love Alembic and eagerly await their restaurant to actually open, their food isn’t exactly on the cheap end. So after an order of delicious duck bao, I still needed something to really soak up the beer and shot. Fortunately next door is the micro food court of Second Act. While a rice bowl felt like too much, a piroshki sounded just right. They had a small menu on the chalk boards, including the Russian Dog, but a beef and cheddar piroshki sounded perfect. So I took it to go, went to Golden Gate park, and enjoyed warm dough, meat and cheese on a nice Saturday. I could have lived without the shirtless hippies asking if I wanted pot, or the looks of their starving dogs, but the food was good, relatively affordable, and fast.

Fresh and soft, not too greasy. Bread for the beef and cheese piroshki tasted very similar to the bread used in baked cha-sui bao’s(Chinese BBQ pork bun). Great for a quick meal or snack. $ 9 for 2: beef and cheese + mushroom and kale. Located inside the Second Act Marketplace, with a few tables – seats 20 ppl total. Other small places in there include Burma Bear, Crêpe la Vie, and a raw juice bar. Order then take to go or find a seat.

Amazing and authentic. The kale salad is excellently seasoned and fresh. The beef & cheddar piroshki is so tasty with a hearty helping of both included. And speaking as a total carnivore, I even enjoyed the cabbage ragout piroshki with a good level of fermented cabbage. Finally, getting a chance to learn the Russian word of the day is kind of cool.

I am visiting SF and decided to head to the Haight on Thursday afternoon to visit Amoeba Music. I hadn’t eaten all day, so I Unilocaled to find a quick snack and came across Anda Piroshki at the Second Act Marketplace, so I checked it out. Now, Second Act Marketplace seems like a mini food court with 6 little eateries and some shared seating. I don’t really understand if there’s also a theater in the back or what, but just be prepared for it to be not much more than a series of counters from which to order food. When I arrived, no one was manning the counter. The only unfortunate part of my visit was the service. I was told by someone at a nearby food vendor counter that the lady running the place had stepped in the back and would be out momentarily. Five or so minutes later, after just enough time for me to start getting antsy enough to want I balk, she came out to serve me. She was very pleasant and sweet, and water was priced at only a dollar per bottle, but I had to dock this place a star for the service. Below is a list of the delicious food I ate on my visit to Anda Piroshki. –Beef & Cheese Piroshki– Great flavor, all of the cheese is on top of the piroshki, not inside. Very moist, nice beef flavor. Crust was perfectly done with a beautiful golden finish, yet still soft and chewy on the inside. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the bread is on both of these piroshki. –Mushroom & Kale Piroshki– Usually I’m a meat eater, but the mushrooms were so fresh and flavorful and seasoned that I didn’t mind that there was no meat in the piroshki. The kale and garlic added a wonderful flavor without being too intense like kale tends to be. I can’t wait to eat another one of these! Overall I was satisfied with my visit. This is wonderful street food, and I wish there was something like this at home in Atlanta for when I need a delicious snack or a light meal.

One star… why??? False advertising bait and switch… Unilocal. Check in says one free piroshky no fine print. After circling block for parking for 45min. And going to use… worker says I gotta order 8!!! No where on the offer does it say this… I was already ordering, 3… 8?? Who the funk is gonna eat 8? Law of Diminishing returns means the free 9th is gonna taste like isht anyways.

I’ve heard about this place for a while and I can never find piroshki in my own Narnia, so now that I have more opportunities to be in SF I did a search for my childhood food porn. And wow, did I find it here. The tips to refer to the Second Act storefront were quite helpful, and the place is toward the back on the left. I made a beeline for the beef and cheese one so I could see whether it would be the same as my past experiences with piroshki. At first I was a little dubious because the dough and outside did not resemble the fried pillows I’m used to, but it actually seemed better and less spongy than those fried pillows and would imagine they re-heat better also. The meat was flavorful and plentiful, just perfect with the cheese. That inside — literally brought me back to the days I used to walk with my grandparents in the Sunset to these stores just to buy piroshki for lunch. It brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes and made me miss my grandparents in a way I haven’t missed them in quite a while. It was lukewarm, still really good but I had expected hot, like in my dreams. Luckily I had bought two more, one to heat up and one for my teenage son, to introduce him to something he too will fall in love with. Crap. Based on the math I will run out of piroshki in an hour. Guess I had better make this a regular stop moving forward.

Consider your place bookmarked, Anda Piroshki! Tried both the beef and the spinach and feta piroshki from the San Francisco Street Food Festival this year! Pocket sized piroshkis are no comparison to hot pockets. I am very excited and eager to return and indulge in such goodness. Thanks for being in San Francisco!

Mushroom & kale piroshki — soft pastry, delicious, warm and flavorful filling. Decent price. VERY filling for a small thing. Apple cinnamon — «tastes like apple pie» according to our child. That’s a win, I guess.

Fine food to eat while walking, sitting, or chasing after a small human. The small human’s favorite so far is the beef & cheese. I particularly enjoy the potato and onion.

«So much better than a hot pocket.» That’s what I said upon biting into one of the fine Russian pastries from Anda Piroshki. For my first piroshki from Anda Piroshki, I grabbed the only meaty option on the menu, the beef and cheese. The beef inside was moist, flavorful, and buttery. I’d say the ratio of beef to cheese on the interior of the piroshky was 9:1 – definitely a carnivorous choice. I don’t recall the type of cheese in the piroshky, but it was pretty much overpowered by the strong flavors of the beef. I loved how they sprinkled some cheese on the outside of the pastry. It was crispy and cheddar-y. By the way, their piroshkis taste delicious a few hours after purchase as well, without reheating. Kind of like having room temperature pizza. The guy working the counter said that you could reheat these and maybe refrigerate them for a day or two, but they definitely would not taste the same as the day they were made. He recommended using an oven, rather than a microwave, for a few minutes. Yeah, I’ll probably grab another piroshki next time I’m in the area. I’d love to see a few more protein-filled options on the menu, though!

Anda Piroshki has about a dozen varieties of piroshki available. usually not my choice of food but willing to try. eats: mushroom & cheese piroshki(4.25) –interesting, fresh ingredients. –tasty but not converted. maybe texture too doughy. brew: komput(3) –free timbleful sample, juice made from frutis, beets –clear drink, probably refreshing would return for this. 4 stars crumbs: –fast, friendly service.

We stumbled onto this joint after working up an appetite riding through the park. Boy did it hit the spot! Each of the piroshki are hand made in the little stall. We tried the Cabbage Ragout, Potato and Onions, and the classic Beef items and enjoyed them all. The cabbage and the potato were the best, while the beef was the weakest of the three. Each had a distinct shape, and flavor profile. You could distinguish the three simply from the smell of the varying herbs wafting up from each one. She even keeps Russian sodas for sale. We split a Tarragon soda and it was intriguing. Well worth the try. If you’re in the area and need a quick bite, think about stopping by this place. You won’t regret it.

I stumbled upon Second Act by accident while looking for Stanza and the whole place itself is a gem. The crowning jewel though just might be this little unassuming piroshki stand tucked away in the left corner of the space. A quick search on Unilocal tells me that Anda’s is sprinkled throughout SF, with this one being the newest. I’m no piroshki connoisseur and the embarrassing fact is that I really only have Piroshki Piroshki at Seattle’s Pike Place Market to use for comparison. Anda’s offerings are slimmer(in variety and in size) but dare I say, even more delicious: flaky, buttery baked buns glazed with egg, stuffed with your choice of traditional(beef, cabbage, potato, onion, etc) or Californian(mushroom and kale, anyone?) fillings, and then baked to absolute perfection. Sure, they don’t come in fun shapes or designs – at least, not at this location – but they’re served piping hot, which is more than what I can say for Piroshki Piroshki.
