Andytown is a haven in the desert! Nice respectable coffee. 4 star due to lack of food options, especially savory ones. Long lines because one of the few good coffee places in sunset!

This place is blowing up! They were recently featured on some popular SF Instagram pages, and now the lines are a little crazy. But I’m OK with that… The snowy plover is total bliss. I’ve had other coffee drinks elsewhere with seltzer water, but never anything with brown sugar and whipped cream. The brown sugar is a nice touch — gives it sweetness with some depth — and the whipped cream is just crazy good. It’s so heavy, it’s basically custard. I love it. The Espresso con Panna is also good, especially if you like your coffee drinks to be less sweet. With respect to food, if you want the Irish Soda Bread, you have to go early. They definitely have a good selection of other baked goods as well, but those start selling out pretty quickly too — and they get stale by close-of-business. The scone that I had around 4pm on a Saturday was edible but not great… pretty dry and bland. I have also been drinking their coffee at home and quite like it — we bought Wind & Sea, since I like the idea that they’ve analyzed all their beans and created a blend that they like, and I think it’s on par with my favorite Blue Bottle beans(which are the Bella Donovan blend… and I see another reviewer agrees with me on the similarity!). Definitely better than Philz or Counter Culture. And — you can get it at Bi-Rite! This is a bit out of the way for me, but always worth a stop if I’m out near the beach! P. S. The space is pretty small, so not ideal if you’re trying to sit down and work, at least not on the weekends…

Heard about this great coffee shop from a dear friend and was glad I was in the neighborhood on my day trip in SF. As a first-timer I ordered the Snowy Plover and this drink absolutely blew my mind! The combination of the sparkling water, espresso and homemade whipped cream was such a treat… and not bad for being $ 4. I didn’t have much of a line, but it would be worth it even if there was one. Hope they open shop in LA(like all the other coffee places have done)!

Sunday, 2:00PM. Quickie: + Food quality + Hygiene + Customer service + Turnaround + Chill vibe + Menu variety * Layout And then??? Andytown Coffee Roasters makes good drinks and even better pastries. Y’all got it goin’ on! ********** Stuffed my face in: 1. Soda farl with jam and cheddar + House-made jam, was the appropriate sweetness level. + Generous portions of raw cheddar. + Farl was fluffy and had firm edges.

Got a cappuccino to go, kinda small but cute with the milk. The Mr got a snowy plover to go … it was okay, not feeling the soda water taste. DEF must from this place is the jalapeño cheddar corn muffin. Wanted to go back for another but the line was too long. Also got this pear jam corn muffin? I forgot what it was but that was delicious too! The crust alone on the muffins was good but ya gotta get a full bite of everything to know how good it is. Place is pretty small inside with one large table in the front and some singles along the side and back. There’s some outside seating too, maybe two tables? I will definitely come back for the muffins!

This is a cute little coffee place. There was a bit of a line here but, you know, lines usually mean there’s something worth the wait at the end of it. There was not a lot of seating inside, but there were a couple places to sit outside. So this review is just for the snowy plover, seeing as that’s the only item we tried. Basically, it’s sparkling water with a shot of espresso with a big scoop of THEBESTCREAMEVER(no, seriously, if they sold just the cream, I would just eat that). I personally really liked the drink; it was more unique than your usual coffee drink. My friends thought it was ok but we all agreed that the cream was amazing. Also, this place is walking distance(8 min walk) from Outerlands. So if you wanted to try there, you can walk over here after and kill two birds with one stone.

Andytown is one of those coffee shops where you’re going to have to wait in line for. It’s extra tiny inside and there doesn’t seem to be a lot of available seats. I went on a Sunday morning and it was packed inside and out. with a line out the door even with the rain. As you can probably already tell from all the reviews, the snowy plover is the thing to get if you’re trying this place out for the first time. I’ve had a rendition of the snowy plover elsewhere and I did not like at all. But after trying Andytown’s snowy plover, I’m in love with this combination! I’d say the whipped cream on top(and maybe partially the espresso) makes it THE Andytown snowy plover. I will come back to try the soda bread and for another snowy plover!!!

The snowy plover(pellegrino, espresso, whip cream) is fantastic and refreshing. Perfect for a pick me up on warm day and surprisingly a thirst-quencher. Darling ambiance and décor that is bright and happy on this San Francisco winter day. Love the hot fresh ginger tea– great zing and perfect for a stuffy nose and cold! Service was outstanding. This place is a win in my book. The butternut squash, thyme, onion and goat cheese scone was savory and delicious. Must try. Split one with a friend!

I love coffee, especially artisan local roasteries. Heard a lot of good things about Andytown and I came today on my day off. It’s a cute corner shop and hidden gem for us local SF natives. No crazy long line like Philz(which is overrated) and a calm vibe to relax with awesome coffee. The staff is very friendly and they have a simple selection of corn muffins & scones. I tried the famous Snowy Plover — OMG! It’s more fabulous than I had imagined :) I will return… take me to Andytown!

Walked over to Andytown to pass the time for our seating at Outerlands. It site on the corner of Lawton and you will know where it is with the A… and the long line. There is very little seating so expect to just come here to take to go or if you’re lucky perhaps you’ll get a seat. We walked in and you smell the breads. Oh how I do love the smell of baked goods. The coffee menu is pretty straight forward and they also have teas. I got a mocha and well although pretty, I felt it had more milk than anything. Yes it was smooth and yes you can taste the espresso, but a key to mocha is the chocolate and if there was chocolate or cocoa, it was not present. Perhaps I just got the wrong thing, but just purely on the mocha, it was just ok. I saw that they had this drink called a Snowy Plover, but it was just too cold to have a cold drink! I also would’ve loved to have the bread, but we were about to eat so I didn’t want to spoil my brunch. Perhaps next time I’ll try it. I’ll give Andytown another try.

Quickest coffee visit I had in SF but perhaps one of the more memorable drinks. COFFEE: Got the snowy plover! Never had a snowy plover? Not sure what a snowy plover even is? Well, it simply is a mixture of club soda, espresso, & cream. Voilà! Snowy plover! Okay so it pretty much tastes like a coffee-flavored sofa with whipped cream. It’s very strange at first but once you mix it and shake it up a bit, it definitely grows on you. It’s a hit or miss but I enjoyed it’s simplicity. Who knew those ingredients combined well. This was such a different part from the rest of the city. We were closer to the beach by the time we got here but we headed out to catch sunset by the 16th avenue tiled steps! Go ahead, try the snowy plover!

Just blocks away from the Pacific Ocean, this café is such a gorgeous addition to the neighborhood. The snowy plower is worth the hype– tonic espresso with homemade whipped cream. The baked goods are pretty tasty too; we had the cheddar jalapeño muffin, apple pear muffin and strawberry chocolate scone were yummy. Will definitely be back if I’m in the hood. Just be prepared to stand in line for at least 20 mins on the weekend.

From one coffee addict to another, Andytown is the best coffee I’ve had in recent memory. Simple, chic, and locally owned, this coffee shop serves a Café Au Lait that’ll keep you coming back over and over and over again. And, it’s a fun way to meet your neighbors — the barista’s and other customers chat it up like you are a long lost friend! Leave your laptop at home, bring a fresh mind, and settle into a coffee, for here.

An(almost) perfect coffee shop! Tucked away near the Sunset, a well-lit corner shop that proves both classy and inviting. They clearly know(and love) their coffee. They clearly love their space. Certain coffee shops I’ve been to with this sort of style — the oh so perfect, artsy, creative spots — seem to make me feel uncomfortable, like I don’t fit into the image. Andytown, however, was extremely welcoming. All of the employees I interacted with seemed very genuine, passionate, and super chill. The pricing is reasonable. Along the walls there are really neat artwork pieces, like the mugs. Hot cocoa was my selection, and it was made how it should be — with actual cocoa /warm milk and not some mix like chain coffee shops might give you. Rich, flavorful, and delicious. So perfect for the chill breeze of a San Francisco Autumn evening. The one thing that makes this place not perfect is that there is very little seating inside, one corner table and a few small stool type seats against the wall. It’s such a nice place I really wish I had more space to sit and stay while I enjoy my drink. Overall, such a great spot — I’ll visit again! (TOP100PLACESTOEATIN2015, #23)

Update! I went here again today while my boyfriend was at Lake Merced for dragonboat practice. Anyways, the line in the morning and afternoon was ridiculously long. The wait was roughly 10 minutes? but the line goes out the door. It’s not a bad wait, but just be ready to wait! I decided to try to get the snowy plover and this was an interesting drink. They use club soda, 2 espresso shots and mix it with ice and their house made whip cream. The total cost was $ 4.00. I would recommend THOROUGHLY mixing the drink before taking your first sip! I first hated this, but it got better after I kept mixing it. I wanted to chill inside for a bit and use their free wifi, but I didn’t want to bother the baristas for the wifi code since everyone seemed so busy with the weekend rush. I would recommend the shop to place the password somewhere, and maybe they do and Im just blind as f*ck. Anyways, as I stated earlier in my first post, the inside is small so be lucky if you grab a table or seats outside. A weird observation while I was in line was that the girl in front of me got free coffee and food because she knew one of the workers. I know this happens all the time and I am not hating on the girl for using her connections, but I think it would be wise next time if the barista didn’t flat out give his friend free coffee and food in front of other paying customers? Like bring your friend the drink toward the back or something so it isn’t so obvious. I could also be totally wrong, but hey, it just want I thought I saw: p Andytown is definitely a place I wouldnt mind visiting more than once and hope to try something new one the menu again!

If I saw the Snowy Plover($ 4) from Andytown Coffee Roasters on Tinder, I’d definitely swipe right. Made with Pellegrino over ice, two shots of espresso with brown sugar, topped with whipped cream that’s made in house… this drink is pure heaven in a cup. Whether you mix the whipped cream into the drink or savor it towards the end, it will be a delight to drink. It is refreshing, frothy, and fizzy all mixed in one. Definitely made me feel like a little kid drinking an adult coffee drink! The store is pretty small, with a few two seaters along the wall and a large table next to the entrance. This is definitely a more to-go place! The line may seem long, but it moves fast. Grab a cup of coffee and take a short walk to Ocean Beach just a few blocks away!

I am really surprised that I haven’t visited Andytown until last weekend! *SWOONS* It was love at first sip… their Snowy Plover is so good! Pellegrino, expresso and a dollop of heavy cream. I also tried their Wheaten Bread with raw cheddar and bacon. It was a huge serving and I had leftovers for 2 breakfasts thereafter. Friendly atmosphere and the line moves quickly. I suggest sitting outside and playing with all the dogs that walk by :)

This place has some of the best coffee I’ve ever tasted. They also have teas and hot cocoas. I’ve had their coffee, mocha, hot chocolate, and famous snowy plover. The mocha, hot chocolate, and snowy plower all come with whipped cream, which I think is delicious. It is thick creamy and home made. I highly recommend all of their coffee drinks. I have also tried the snowy plover, which wasn’t my favorite. Many people seem to come in and ask for it. It is espresso with sparkling water and whipped cream on top. For me, the sparkling water is just a little strange, but other people seem to love it and come here just for that drink! This place also has delicious baked goods. Their cookies crumble when you eat them and are super sweet, but not overly so. Their scones are pretty good, but a little dry. But my favorite is the soda bread, which comes with cheddar cheese or jam(also their oven closes at 3pm, so be sure to get there before that!) The service here is friendly and attentive. They always strike up conversation and make you feel welcome. The baristas are talkative and take the time to talk to you and recommend drinks if you want. Also, shoutout to the barista that gave me a free coffee refill when they were about to close! I also find this spot suitable to get a little bit of work done. There is wifi and one large table you can share with others where you can sprawl out and get stuff done. There are other smaller tables inside and a bunch outside as well. This café has a nice vibe with good music and the sound level is fine for reading or whatever you need to do! Side note, this is one café in sf that actually has street parking! I don’t have to struggle to parallel park or spend half an hour finding a spot!

*Supposedly the snowy plover drink($ 4) is one of their best seller, however I didn’t know what it was until I got home and read Unilocal reviews :(so I regret for not getting it… The snowy plover is an espresso drink mixed with Italian soda and topped with homemade whipped cream, sounds very intriguing! *The lineup can be a pain but it moves very quickly, also if you are in SF and there is no line up at a shop, you know that place ain’t popular by locals ;). –Lyons Tea Au Lait — $ 3.25: Essentially a tea latte, and if I remember correctly it was black tea! The tea wasn’t too strong and there was some smoothness to it? I hope that make sense, but I enjoyed it and I appreciate how the barista held back on the syrup too. –Soda Black Currant Scone — $ 4.00: Initially I was afraid that the soda scone would be dry, however it was still warm and moist inside. The blackcurrant tasted like concentrated blackberry and it wasn’t too overpowering either.

I had heard about Andytowns«Snowy Plover», a shot of espresso, soda water and whipped cream from a few people and thought that was crazy and wouldn’t work. But it was awesome, basically like a coffee float/spider. Really refreshing on a hot day. I also tried the muffin and scone. The muffin was super fresh, the contents still warm inside and the scone got a big thumbs up from the wife.
