Ew, had a craving for a pretzel and this one was COLD. COLD, COLD, COLD. There’s nothing more disappointing to than something cold when you’re expecting it to be hot as advertised on their pricing menu. The lady at the stand told me she was unable to heat up the pretzel without burning it. $ 2.75 + tax in SF = $ 3.25 I chose this over several bakeries in the area due to a craving, but never again!!! 2 stars because the lady was nice to me.

What a disappointment. Last week we came over to the city from Modesto for a day of fun, and being hot dog connoisseurs, Annie’s was on our list of things to do based on the reviews here. We tried the New Yorker. At best it is an average dog, and not in a league with anything served at Pink’s in LA(or, for that matter, anything served from a cart in New York). Perhaps we’ll give Annie’s another chance someday, but we will pick a cart other than the one at Stockton and O’Farrell. This one-star rating is really for the guy working there that day. He was an utter jerk, rude and curt. For the benefit of Annie’s owners should they be reading this and perhaps, at this moment, considering a customer service refresher, we were there at 3:30 p.m. on MLK Day.

Love the hot links get one everytime I pass by any of the stands, Great value, execellent quality and friendly service. Ask for extra cheese on the link, better than Stanley Steamer’s. Check them out

I’ve been to 3 different stands in the city, but Stockton street is by far the best one. The dogs run from $ 4 – 6 with the most popular being the $ 4 New Yorker. The sauerkraut and the red onion sauce are perfect together, throw in some jalapenos and you got a bomb dog. Service was the kicker, the cashier was outstanding and was engaging, he even dropped a few jokes. Great food and great service.

Okay this place was so clutch for me! I was hungry but didn’t want to stop anywhere to sit down and eat because I was doing some serious shopping in Union Square. Last time I bought a hot dog from a hot dog stand was maybe. at a fair? Anyway so I imagined a Costco hot dog but NOOO. Annie’s Hot Dog cart has many different type of dogs. I got the hot link and they put the spicy onions and this red sauce that was delicious. Oh man I kind of want one right now. The hot dog was marvelous. These carts are at different corners all over SF. I recommend the hot links!

Really good hot dogs! Their hot dogs have that«snap» when you bite into it – just like the hot dogs at Pink’s in L.A. I got one with spicy onions, and I finished it in seconds.

I’m giving this update for two reasons: 1) Because I actually got a very classy e-mail response from the owners of Annie’s Hot Dog Cart offering to buy me a hot dog next time I come up; and 2) Because I did have a hot dog(Not a polish) and it was pretty damn good. I didn’t take the owner up on the free dog – I just grabbed one when I was walking past the cart. I didn’t want to be biased. As I said before, the guys working the cart are actually cool, the dogs are good standard street dogs, and the style is definitely New York in terms of condiments. As I tasted the actually quite delicious hot dog the only bitter taste in my mouth was the left over sense of being a schmuck for giving a small business owner such a tough review. So I want to thank David for giving me the motivation to go back again.(Having said that, I still think you should just take the polish sausages off the menu. The dogs are great – no one will care if that’s all you have!) So give them a try – just stick to the hot dogs. I’ll definitely be back.
