If you are wanting a quick, nothing fancy, traditional breakfast this is your place. They do have a semi-Korean twist on a few things, but your basic eggs, meat, hashbrowns are all there!

I love this place. Their has brown beef teriyaki sandwich is da bomb. Crisped to perfection, the seasoning on the beef is perfect. Their bibimbop is quite good as well. Entering into this tiny and unassuming space, one would never suspect that what looks like a simple diner in the outside is actual an amazing Korean and American fusion delight. A must try.

Inexpensive, counter seating only, watching Art flip hash browns = priceless. This is a great little gem where the price of breakfast still runs under $ 10. No you’re not gonna get the best service, no the place isn’t gonna be the cleanest, but the food will taste damn good especially if you’re looking for a hangover cure from the night before.

This spot is unique. It’s an old-fashioned breakfast spot with diner stools. It has a traditional breakfast and lunch menu with some Korean/Asian fusion additions. I got the chicken teriyaki hash brown sandwich that came with eggs and toast. My friend got two eggs and hash browns. He said he didn’t like the hash browns. They were a little weird. Not made fresh and not fluffy enough. I’d like to try something else off the menu like a sandwich or burger. There’s plenty to choose from.

5 stars for sure! I felt like I was a blue-collar worker hunched over my meat, potatoes, grits, pancakes, quickly snatching some salt and syrup for my meal, or ketchup, or asking for a refill of coffee. Meanwhile my friend next to me is doing the same thing. We don’t even talk while we’re eating but instead chow down our breakfast before the start of the new day and then every few minutes we let out a big burp but continue eating because that’s what us men do. Then when we’re finished we pay cash and leave a good tip and move on with the rest of the day. And we feel full like when a wife makes your stomach full and your balls empty.

Great food! Like hella great omelettes and hashbrowns. However, the woman who runs this place can be weirdly shaming to some customers– I have overheard her criticizing customers(mostly women) by calling out their eating habits, etc dieting and/or ordering extra sides of bacon. Not appropriate but overall, still a diner I frequent.

Love this place! Hashbrown Sandwich and many other breakfast goods! I give them 5STAR, there just yummy for a whole in the wall place… The husband and wife team are really nice and great customer service… Parking after 0900 only sucks with the SF city Meters! A must try with their specialty #Hashbrown Sandwich!

we went in the other day. Art’s has a cool style but man is the cheese disgusting. a lot of their dishes have american and/or swiss(which is not swiss and some kind of white american) «cheese» that makes everything taste and feel like there is plastic in the food. it’s a real«get in, get out» kind of place. tiny place with only counter seating. would only go here if i was in a big hurry. really like the décor but the food is NOTGOOD. if you don’t like it, you can talk to the lady but she probably just wants you to eat, pay, then get out. mission accomplished.

I really enjoyed my meal at Art’s Café and didn’t mind waiting in line for it. The thing is, this is a no frills place. You are one of the 12 patrons that are the sole attention of Art and his wife. I really appreciated this in the land of overpriced brunch food. I ordered the hashbrown sandwich with bulgogi beef and onions. It came with two pieces of toast and eggs.(Your toast will come out first with jam and you can munch on it while you watch Art make your food) The hashbrown was perfectly crispy, but unfortunately the bulgogi beef was a bit too sweet in my opinion… Also, being the fatty I am, I made my friends share the banana walnut french toast with me. I liked the grilled bananas on top of it and they were quite generous with the portion size. Overall, this is a super cute diner place. Come with one or two people. Probably wouldn’t bring a large group here.

Hash browns are one of my favorite breakfast items. Take that and add bulgogi to it? Food magic. This sandwich is so delicious. The hash browns are perfectly crispy, the bulgogi is well marinated, and the onion is wonderfully caramelized. The sandwich only gets better with each bite. Two pieces of toast and eggs come as part of the meal. The meal, which totaled around $ 10, is filling and definitely worth getting again. This place is cash only and has limited seating. I called my order in this time and my meal was ready to go within 10 minutes.

LOVE! Super small, basically looks like an old diner with just bar seating(maybe 12 seats total?). The cool part is you get to watch them make your food, which came out quick! My boyfriend got their hashbrown sandwich(seems like their signature), with eggs, bacon, onions, & avocado… AMAZING! And I got the cinnamon french toast & eggs which was also suuuuper tasty! I’m sure this place gets packed most mornings because it’s so small, but we went there around 11am on a Friday it we were able to get a spot no problem. Wish we lived closer because I would eat here all the time! :)

Ate lunch here. Tough parking in this Irving street neighborhood. Meals were inexpensive and tasty. Hash browns and eggs special looked good. This is a smaller restaurant and only seating at the counter for maybe no more than 20 people. The food is somewhat average like the old timer cafes in the 50s; however, the novelty of this place is watching the cook make your meal right before your eyes and seeing that it is freshly prepared. This is like watching those Benihana cooks cooking.

This place is so delicious. Family owned shotgun style layout seats 15ish at a time. Go before 930AM Saturday or Sunday if you don’t want to wait. You wait outside but the owner goes ahead and takes your order so when you are seated it’s super fast! Hash brown sandwiches are amazing as is the banana walnut French toast. Get a side of bacon to balance out the sweetness :) efficiency is their game so eat and then get out!

Honestly, Art’s café is one of the best food I’ve had in while I’m in San Francisco. This is defiantly NOT a tourist trap. Try to get there early, so there’s no line. I had a hash brown melt with sour cream added and sunny side up eggs. My sister got a spinach and mushroom omelette and she asked for no onions because she absolutely HATES onions. But they put it on there anyways. Surprisingly, she ate the onions and didn’t give a damn. That’s how good the food is. She hates it, but ate all of it! A MUSTTRY

Great family-run joint right off of 9th and Irving. Super affordable week-day breakfast specials otherwise their regular dishes are all around or less than $ 10. Tiny spot with about 15 bar stools. We came around 8am on a Saturday and had to wait a couple minutes for a few seats to clear but it gets busier so be prepared to wait if you show up later! They’re known for their hash brown omelets which are crispy and delicious! I also enjoy their homemade corned beef hash. Hash browns are constantly cooking on the griddle so they’re thin and crispy. Great place to check out if you’re up early and in the area. They also serve Korean-inspired breakfast dishes so give those a try if you want something different!

Art’s Café is your all-american diner with a Korean twist, which makes it doubly awesome since I just came back from a trip to Seoul. I got the bibimbop scramble, which was delicious. But now I wish I had gotten the hash brown melt and add bacon and kimchi. You wouldn’t think so, but bacon and kimchi is an awesome combination.

Neat place with an interesting idea, but the food tasted mediocre. Great for a quick and cheap breakfast. It’s cash only, so come prepared!(There’s a Wells Fargo across the street if you find yourself short). The place gets pretty full during breakfast time, especially since it’s pretty small. They only have bar seating. I had to try one of their hashbrown sandwiches since that’s what they’re known for. I got the beef and onion hashbrown sandwich. It was just okay, nothing different from eating hashbrowns with onions and beef… pretty much tasted like diner food. The hashbrowns were thinner than I expected.

Clearly this place is a winner. there is always a line out the door. This place is not meant for boozy brunch but unhealthy Korean fare diner style. The place is tiny but they do it well. I would recommend their hash wrap with teriyaki beef. It’s a new take on a familiar dish. I had mine with the same sauce they use for bim bim bop. It comes with two eggs(mine were sunny side up and I have to say. really impressed with how pretty it looked and how the yolk never ran) and toast. My friend told me the pancakes are really fluffy as well… Cash only. It only cost us $ 10 with tip. Great place! I wouldn’t go with a large party… they are fast but it’ll take a while.

Went looking for a breakfast spot the other day and my son and I decided to go to Art’s Café. All the seating is at the counter and since it was full, we waited outside for a few minutes. Once inside you begin to understand what drives so many people here and it’s definitely the food. Not much ambiance, but service is fast and the food is really good. I opted for the Beef Teriyaki Hash Brown sandwich and my son ordered the Chicken Teriyaki Hash Brown sandwich, since this is Art’s specialty. The flavor of the Teriyaki sauce was really good and the portions were really good. Art has created a very unique item that’s very tasty. It comes with 2 eggs and toast. I was surprised how filling the meal was, since at first glance I didn’t think it would fill us up. Art is very friendly and accommodating to his guests. I was impressed he has the time to speak to his patrons, since he’s doing most of the work. I’ll definitely have to be back to try some of the other items on the menu.

I came with my boyfriend to this small little diner after eating at Arzimendi Bakery close by. There was a wait outside, since this is a small diner where they make food in front of you. I ordered the chicken omelet with rye bread and hash browns, and my boyfriend ordered the beef bibimbap. My meal tasted okay, it was just an average taste, nothing special, but not bad. My boyfriend enjoyed his food, but definitely didn’t think the kimchi was good. I would rate this place a 3.5 because of the experience. It isn’t a common experience to have a small diner where they cook in front of you. I could tell that it isn’t the most sanitary place though.
