This place is great! From the old school rap/hip hop music, to the awesome staff, to the beer/craft cocktail selection, to the décor. Wasn’t overly crowded when I went yesterday(Friday) at 5pm. There were a couple dogs chilling with their owners, so that means it is pet friendly. As a pet owner, this is a thumbs up! They had a good beer(including stouts and sours, my favorites) and cocktail selection. The bartender was very nice and knowledgable offering tastings of some of the beers he thought I might like. If I lived in the area this place would definitely be one of my regular spots! Highly recommended.

Good neighborhood spot to visit. Plenty of space, not too crowded, good cocktails, and games to entertain. Also, there are black birds painted on the ceiling

Standard bar with craft cocktail attempts. Went mid-week and it was pretty empty, the Warriors game was on though. The bar was expecting a big party of 60 to show up which decreased to 8 people, so the staff was pretty bummed out. The bartender was not attentive and when she did address us, she was definitely not happy. Drinks were ok. I’d probably only go to this bar if I lived near it and wanted a easy place to drink.

Pros: about two blocks from my work. One of the few cocktail bars in the area that opens at 4 rather than 5. Happy Hour from 4 – 7 Monday — Friday. Decent comfortable seating. Full bar, nice draft beer selection and pretty much any spirit to make cocktails. Cons: One bartender for Happy Hour in SOMA? Seemed to get a bit overwhelmed so service was slow… Also, I do have a pet peeve when the bar is busy and I am waiting to order but the bartender is over on the other end taking shots… Gets pretty busy with the SOMA crowd by 5 – 530, so get there early if possible to stake out a seat. The menu wasn’t anything too exciting or innovative, got the New Fashioned… nothing really«new» about it tasted like a standard old fashioned to me.

Cozy bar off Folsom. For some reason it gives you an Old Time western feel, but I have to admit drinks are amazing. I order food from Ubereats and they allowed me to bring it in while I had drinks.

So, I’ve never had a time where I felt the urge to ask for the manager of a bar. Today, at bloodhound, I asked for the name of the manager of the bar and the bouncer, along with his buddies(one a bartender at the bar) loudly chanted(in my face) for 5 minutes, «his name is John FUCKYOU.» So, if you want to go to a bar that would utterly disrespect you for giving a «weird look», go check out this one! The only reason to go to this bar is to wait for the line to die down next door at Raven. I was really excited to check out this bar with a group of 5 sober people(meaning did not drink at all before) and was turned away at the door for being«disrespectful». I understand that bouncers have all the power to turn people away with reasonable cause but I’ve never experienced this sense of discrimination and utter condemnation. I was in such disbelief as to why the bouncer refused to let my friend in so I asked for an explanation. The bouncer, word for word, told me that my friend simply, «gave him a weird look», at which point a bartender and third person, who was chatting with the bouncer, decided to verbally assault me outside of bar. I highly doubt that it is reason enough for a bouncer to rudely and loudly degrade a person by raising their voice and prohibiting them to enter a bar because he/she felt the person trying to get in «gave them a weird look». Additionally, it is not okay that the bouncer continued to verbally attack me and allow the friends of the bouncer to abuse and assault people he turned away from the door. After viewing the negative comments about this place, it is not surprising that I received this response from this bar.

Great drinks, friendly staff, skilled bartenders. Loved that the bartenders had a good rapport going between them and worked together to make sure everyone was taken care of. Vibe is good– came on a Friday night and it was busy but not too crowded. Good music. Absolutely repulsive bathroom(cannot overstate this). I totally had to hover and the floor was wet with all sorts of paper products all over the place. Despite that, I would return!

Really liked the décor in this place but it was way too packed at 9pm to barely get in or get a drink. Shoulder to shoulder with everyone. We came with a pub crawl to play pool but no way that was happening. I’d like to return maybe when it’s not so busy as it looked like a nice place and their Moscow mules on tap($ 12) were yummy. No cover to get in at 9pm.

There are a lot of bars to check out in sf. The only reason to ever be in this one is if you can’t get into Raven. Keep your eyes wide open! If you close your eyes just for a second. you’ll probably be kicked out. Shout out to Jimmy and the owner Tucan.(Or something like that). They could have easily handled a situation with class and chose to be dicks about it. Better luck to the next patrons

Not a fan of Jimmy or Tucan. Drinks are expensive, and they don’t treat their patrons as they should. Customer service is not a priority, plenty of bars in sf no need to visit this one. Also someone was taking a dump in front of me, no walls kinda really awkward.

With Raven right next door, this is a good place to kickstart the festivities after dinner. It’s a bit dim and can get loud, but if you’re planning on clubbing afterwards, it’s probably a good idea to warm up your vocal chords. Pool table is a bonus, and an easy place to start conversations. Don’t try to bum any ciggies outside though, some girls only do it in exchange for jokes.

This is a cool place. You can tell by the wall to wall people that ar here most nights. They have a really cool drink list. The best part really is that they have pool and a cool hunting arcade game. Its very Montana meets SF feeling. Good drinks, great for large groups, but crowded… like everywhere!

This, they tell me, is a «New Fashioned.» Interesting group. Solid mix of «new» & «old» San Francisco. #Bloodhound #SoMa

I’ve been here before on a busy weekend night and it wasn’t my cup of tea… too busy, crowded, loud but, we met a friend here on a weekend night, he loves this place, it’s his go to! We made friends with the bartenders, they made recommendations for scotch and I commented I wished I enjoyed drinking the boozier cocktails, because the old fashioned smelled so good. The bartender made a recommendation and let me taste the liquor before she made my drink… The drink kicked my ass but it tasted great!

I am totalllllly NOT a bar person whatsoever. I’d rather go somewhere where there is music playing or go to a restaurant and grab drinks. However, this past weekend I had a pleasant experience here. Getting drinks was simple, well-ventilated bar(our table was right next to the windows), really good noise level — easy to have a convo with our friends. All in all, a good atmosphere and crowd.

Bloodhound is a bar that I wish I went to more often. They’ve got a great selection of beer, great décor, and friendly service. The best part about this bar? It’s DOGFRIENDLY! Also love how they have a hunting arcade game right by the pool table. Get here early, however. Tables and seating are limited — it’s not a terrible thing, just a minor inconvenience. Dogs, a pool table, a hunting game, and mason jars — overall very awesome.

Not much seating. There’s a pool table, and a vendor who sells pulled pork with mac & cheese that’s pretty decent. The beer selections are okay, but it’s weird drinking from a thick, stubby mason jar.

What a great neighborhood bar. And here I’d all but given up on all these transplants creating any semblance of a «community» in SoMa. Great beer selection(love the Nitro stout… please never leave me), clean and level pool table(for a buck AND you don’t need to bug the bar for quarters), Big Buck Hunter, and dozed of dimly-lit and very comfortable places to sit and talk with your friends(who happen to be your neighbors).

Good. Went on Friday after work and it was fairly crowded at the bar(we waited about 5 min for seats). They also seemed to have a shortage of menus because I had to ask someone for theirs and returned the favor a few minutes later for another person. Cocktails were tasty though not as imaginative as a place like Tradition or Swig. Bartenders were just okay, not overly friendly and took a while to get their attention for our second round. Décor is really great. They take cards. Pretty loud so I wouldn’t recommend for a first date/catching up with a friend. It’s not close to my apartment and it’s a solid 15 min walk from my office so I likely won’t return unless I find myself in this area again.

Came by yesterday to watch the Giants game before having dinner nearby. I like the vibe of the place. Very low key. Not a lot of people while we were here. A few at the bar, tables, etc, which probably added to the reason I had a great time. I hate being at crowded bars. There are only a few TVs, so I wouldn’t call this a sports bar by any means. But it was nice to watch the game while throwing back a couple drinks. Side note: There are birds painted on the ceiling. Maybe they were stenciled, but they were birds! I’m scared of birds so this was not a welcome decoration. So if you’re scared of birds like me, don’t look up!

Vamos começar um bar crawl? Sim!
