My son was a product of CPITS when he attended Lafayette ES. Ms. Sibbet was amazing– from the rhythm clap, to «smelling, seeing and feeling» the words for poetry to a class-​published book of the the students’ work. He also was able to read his poems at Watershed and at the SF Public Library. A great program for instilling the creative writing process in children and for celebrating the arts in our California schools. Keep on keepin’ on California Poets in the Schools!

CPITS is an excellent program providing a much-​needed resource to California’s public schools. The poet-​instructors are professional, kind, and provide age– and skill-​appropriate exercises. Students are challenged and supported, which is a rare combination. With an ever-​greater emphasis on testing and teaching to the standards, CPITS is an essential creative resource!

California Poets in the schools is an amazing program and Blake More an incredible and gifted teacher. The program exposes students to a creative process that many would never have access to. With so little creative outlets being offered in our schools today, Poets in the schools and Blake More are invaluable.
