Love this place for brunch, ambiance and drinks. Had dinner for the first time and it was a let down. We ordered the tasting menu. Beet root salad was good, but both the hanger steak and cod lacked salt and taste. When we asked for salt, or server brought salt from the kitchen in a big container, which was really odd. So, no more dinners here! But def going back for drinks and brunch.

Horrible experience. On my friend’s 30th birthday, she invited 20+ people to join her at Chambers. We not only got dinner there, but then ordered hundreds of dollars worth of food and drinks. We were reasonably enjoying the evening until towards the end of the night, a Chambers’ staffer walked up to my friend and *shouted* at her, «How old are you? Have you ever been to a bar before? I’m kicking you all out!» We were all very confused, but soon two bouncers were summoned to kick out a group of peaceful, paying customers. We put down all our food and drinks and left, totally confused. Why was he kicking us out? Because apparently, she had taken *an olive* from the bar. To treat a customer so disrespectfully — to literally shout at her — and to turn away 20+ paying customers is unconscionable. Our group was polite and respectful the entirety of our time there and even when we were treated so horribly, we calmly left the establishment. I’m surprised you guys are still in business. I hope this review does its part to make sure you don’t stay that way. TL;DR? There is no excuse for Chambers’: — Disrespectful waitstaff — Mediocre food — Horrible customer service

I had brunch here once(which was great but pricy) and I mostly go here for the nightlife. I would come here often if it wasn’t terrifying to walk five feet from the cab to the front door. Perhaps others are less sheltered than I am, but I worked at Turk and Taylor streets for more than a year so I’m pretty aware of how this area can be. And well, at night, it’s another story. If you don’t want to be hassled or harassed, make a straight beeline right to the door. This isn’t the kind of bar where you can hang out outside with your friends after a fun night. Cab to Bar, no other stops. Inside, it’s awesome. Drinks are good, the crowd is good… I like the age range too, definitely not too old or too young(at 27, this is great for me.) I also love that people dress up and really seem to be putting their«all» into having a fun night. Reminds me of the NYC clubs I used to go to when I lived there, except less… clubby.

A great place for groups and happy hour/dinner with friends, co-workers, and dates! It’s not clearly advertised so I never knew this place existed after passing by it numerous times. Thanks to Unilocal,I found a new cool spot for happy hour! Happy hour starts at 5:00, but dinner seating doesn’t start until 6:00pm. I met up with a co-worker on a Friday, We sat at the bar and had 2 cocktails before we got to get seats for dinner. Happy hour cocktails are $ 5 vs $ 12 off the regular menu. Drinks were delicious. Try the«Sticky Fingers» its refreshing! Rock Cod $ 28 — Nori crusted masa, summer squash, abalone mushroom, corn, fava beans, serrano scallion oil. It’s a little on the pricier side for the portion, but it was delicous and beautifully presented! I really enjoyed the fresh and flakey cod and I’m a big fan of mushrooms. The summer squash was shaved into a long thin stip and rolled into a rose. Beautiful plating. Hanger Steak $ 30 — Isreali Couscous, asparagus, baby carrot, onion soubise, dukkha spice, hazelnut, cilantro. My co-worker ordered this and I snuck a bite. The meat was cooked to perfection and the cous cous was well flavored. It’s spacious, with interior décor decorated like a library with vinyl records. We had a great happy hour and dinner! The bartender was friendly and inviting, waiter was very nice, had a great time!

I celebrated my «½ way to 50» birthday here this past November and it was a success! I wanted a private space for my guests to celebrate yet not too secluded so I can get the feel of «nightlife.» Chrissie who works on the events end at the Restaurant and Bar was so easy to work with and communicated back and forth effortlessly, something I really take into account when working with other event industry folks. I got to rent out the enclosed patio area by the pool with a food and bev minimum of $ 1000. Chrissie even let me split it two 2 checks to cover the $ 1000 which was awesome because I just had my birthday dinner there with my closest girlfriends and then the staff rearranged the area for the night portion for drinks when my other friends arrived at 9pm. I preordered platters of food and my friend bought a bottle and we covered the $ 1000 min easily. I got to bring in a photo booth and the servers kept my two tier specialty cake in the kitchen up until my guests arrived so it just wasn’t sitting there out in the open. They even tried to help me salvage it after my friend drove over a pot hole or whatever and broke half of my huge cake topper –_– I only wished that the patio area had some sort of sanctions as the other end across the walkways from the entrance is where the public can sit and they kept coming into my section trying to use my photo booth but of course I 86 their asses before they even pressed the button to start the booth. However, after I discussed this with security they were keeping a watchful eye over these two tacky girls who tried to sneak in telling me a bartender said they could use it and then tried to call me a B**** when I walked away but not before my friend heard and was ready to throw down on her and I had to intervene and tell her she needs to leave with her friend before my friend pounds her to a pulp because I know her, and I know she could mess this girl up easily. Anyways, security guards were nice the whole time, Chrissie was a breeze to work with, and the wait staff was all on top of it all night! Would definitely recommend this location for people thinking about holding an event.

Very cool spot. Don’t get alarmed by its location in the old looking motel-style accommodations. Inside is a very trendy restaurant and bar, with lots of space and well decorated. Drinks are creative, and the food was delicious. I picked this place for the dinner, and while at first I was uncertain then I stopped worrying and enjoyed my dinner and sexy date. After we had finished, we decided to come back again and rent a room and enjoy their beautiful pool.

Wasn’t at all impressed with this place. Three of us made reservations and shared much of the appetizer menu. Drinks were tasty, average price. Service was decent but the server had a twinge of attitude. The ambiance was really cool and i“d probably come back again just for drinks. The food, however, was lacking. And we tried different dishes. Nothing was great Baby lettuce — Basically a very small side salad. It’s over priced and doesn’t actually look like a shareable plate like the menu suggests. Chicken wings — 8 very, very, very tiny chicken wings. They barely had any meat on them and the watered down blue cheese sauce was pretty terrible. Lamb pancetta dates — By far the best tasting dish. Really tasty but only 3 tiny dates in each serving, for the price of $ 12 or $ 13. Cmon. Buffala polenta — A very small scoop on a large shallow bowl. The presentation made it look more appetizing than it was. It was so bland. So so so bland. Fries — The largest portion of food we had. A generous portion of french fries served with ketchup. I think this was $ 6 and the only thing we agreed was worth the money.

Chambers, there’s one sign on the corner but I still found it very difficult to find. After walking inside multiple doors, I finally found the entrance to the restaurant. I arrived promptly at 8:00pm and sat and waited…15 minutes roll by and he didn’t show up. F*ck. When he said lets get drinks and asked me to choose a place, I’m going to choose a place to eat and not to drink. Is it sad that I was more excited for the food than him? Anyway, showing up late is no Bueno in my book but I didn’t want that to ruin my night so I decided to stay. 5 minutes later, I was about to order then he shows up. Double F*ck. Alright, save the excuses, let’s get a drink and eat. –Pork Belly– presentation, amazing. Pork belly, melt in your mouth yumminess with equal parts fat and pork –Grit Fries– Anything«fries» is good. I find it odd that there was only 3 pieces; make it four and call in even –Tri Tip– the meat was laid on a hot stone cooked to your liking. One bite and I ALMOST had a foodgasm, almost –Lamb Dates– HIS choice not mine! I already knew I didn’t like dates and the lamb was a bit gamey Overall, the food and service was great.

Chamber’s wasn’t has fun and great as it used to be. WARNING: They do not do bottomless mimosas anymore and you would have to buy«bottle service» which is 40/per bottle. The food is still good but the atmosphere is a little different and it’s in the TL. Not sure if this would be my go-to spot anymore but don’t get me wrong the food is still pretty good.

If you’re wondering where do people take picture with the sign«BEAMAZING», it is here at Chambers. Sunday brunch with some of my favorites. Love. Love. Love. We ordered: — Soufflé Pancake = apple chutney, pomegranate gelée, and maple ice cream. It was basically like a dessert. — House smoked pork belly — Hangover Hash = felt like a dinner meal then breakfast meal. — Pork Belly = Two soft boiled eggs, caramelized onion, Yukon potato, lollipop kale, gochujang, black garlic, and cilantro. — Side of chicken maple sausage We had plenty of crafty cocktails which I can’t remember the name, but they were all excellent and strong. The decoration at Chambers was very modern and chic. Love the interior and the outdoor poolside seating. Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. I hope you give this trendy brunch place a try. Cheers!

Bottomless mimosas have been cancelled! It’s now either $ 9 for a regular or $ 40 for bottle service. Oh well. Otherwise food is still good — very rich, a bit on the heavy side. The eggs royale had an almost syrupy like texture to them. The pork belly as stated in other reviews was great, very unique signature taste. All in all, okay brunch spot, but with bottomless now gone, probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

What a fun spot to stumble upon on after a concert at bill graham! Honestly, came in here looking to grub a little past midnight and my friend and I were very pleased. Great music and atmosphere and there was food! The food wasn’t exactly what we were looking for on a Friday night, we got the Tator tots and pork belly, we wanted a little more simplicity, but they were good! Anyways, I loved that the front had a little dance floor and the back had seating. Will definitely be back!

I was really disappointed with the food and drinks. I started off with the kumquat cocktail which was not well mixed and very bitter although described as sweet by the bartender. For apps– we got the dates which were really great. I got the pigs in a blanket(bar bite) for dinner and it was disgusting. There was a hair in my food and it was cold. Lucky me didn’t find the hair until I had eaten two pieces. I complained to the waiter and nothing was done. We were charged for everything despite my complaint. We weren’t even acknowledged for the hair that I pointed out. See the picture. Wish I had better things to say.

This is a 3& ½ star rating. We came here and had a reservation. We were told our table wasn’t ready, so we went to have drinks in the back. 50 minutes later we were finally seated! Even though we had a reservation. We were not impressed. We were offered free champagne so that was nice. Nothing stands out to me more than the Pork Belly off the Small Plate menu. The presentation of this dish was very unique.(note my picture) Make sure you take a bite of the meat with the pickled vegetables on the side. Such a great combination of flavors. The décor is really cool inside. Old vinyl & fun settees make the dining experience one of a kind. If it hadn’t been for the terrible service in the front of house, I would have gone 5 stars for sure.

I’m giving them 4 ½ stars. What an awesome hidden gem, and of all places in the tenderloin. We were walking aimlessly for a good brunch spot and we fell upon this cute hotel. You would never believe what it looks like on the inside, from the outside. Complete rock n roll 60s or 70s retro. It was so cool with walls full of old record albums. I must say their menu was unique and I want to add that it was eccentric, in a good way. The way they plated the food, to the different colors and it tasted great! The only downfall was, my food was pretty cold. I had eaten half way before my friend complained about it, but I was too embarrassed to send it back. They apologized and offered to bring a fresh one(which I politely declined), so instead, they offered any dessert, on the house AND did not charge for the delicious coffee we ordered. If your a coffee drinker like me, BONUS points for the coffee, it was thick, dark and rich.(Tip: if you drink Pete’s, try their coffee). A+ experience, food and coffee was delish, ambiance was super cool, minus ½ star for my food being cold, but they definitely made up for it. We really enjoyed our brunch, I’m spreading the word. Oh and did I mention this place turns into a cool bar and lounge at night, oh and did I mention there is a parking lot! Yup, you heard me right! There’s also a swimming pool and cabana in the back, but I think that’s off limits and only for hotel guests. Any who, I’ll be back with friends!

||REVIEW #600|| I feel like an idle millenial who wastes too much time writing reviews… but SF is too cool not to explore! Chambers is essentially a chamber of secrets. Besides the somewhat hidden location inside Phoenix Hotel, the amazing(and very reasonably priced) brunch mostly remains a secret: fancy-pants brunch in a quiet and peaceful atmosphere, plus there is no wait – a great find in a city where a $ 20 brunch with a 45 minute wait is considered a normal weekend routine. [THECHAMBEROFSECRETSBYDAY] The menu is fairly extensive and features creative variations on brunch food in which they take everything a step further. There are no pancakes, French toast, or scrambled eggs; only soufflé pancakes, spiced French toast, and soft scrambled eggs. Some items add a fusiony spin, incorporating diverse flavors such as Spanish(tortilla omelette), Filipino(loco moco), Korean(gochujang), even San Franciscan(red quinoa). The PORKBELLY($ 13, two soft boiled eggs, caramelized onion, Yukon potatoes, lollipop kale, gochujang, black garlic, cilantro) made a hearty brunch with the huge block of pork belly. The lollipop kale adds a nice flair. It’s melt-in-your-mouth crispy and reminds me of the crispy fried vegetable in Chinese dishes.(Also, it makes you feel healthy because it’s kale). The SPICEDFRENCHTOAST($ 12, strawberry mandarin compote, vanilla whipped cream, bourbon syrup)… so many delicious things put together! The description speaks for itself: it tastes as amazing as it sounds. I had planned to get Saigon Sandos across the street in case we were still hungry afterwards, but we were quite satisfied. [THESLIGHTLY-LESS-SECRETIVECHAMBERSBYNIGHT] The ambiance at night is vintage romantic: bookshelves of vinyl records lining the walls, shadowy lighting in warm gold and amber tones, climaxing at the famous«BEAMAZING» sign spelled out in light bulbs in the backdrop of the bar. The cocktails are good. Not too strong, but nice to sip on and ponder about how to be amazing while relaxing on one of their classy couches and staring at the flickering flame of a candle. One of my favorite cocktail convos: Me: The pattern on the lights looks like mold when your cell cultures get contaminated The boo: …those are supposed to be stars… lol way to ruin this romantic ambiance Be amazing.

I came to Chambers to celebrate getting sworn into the bar because it was just a few steps away from the federal building. On a slow Thursday evening, the service was very attentive and prompt. I tried the vodka drink — that’s literally the name. It was nice & simple and gave a pleasant light buzz without tasting strong of alcohol. However, I was expecting to taste the basil and it was more of a garnish. As for small plates, I enjoyed everything. The smoked grits which come in rectangular deep fried blocks stood out to me most for their unique flavor and great texture. The pork sliders(actually little pork stuffed dough balls sprinkled with sesame) were delicate and delicious small bites. The pork belly was a bit bland to me, the four tiny pieces came out on a very cool looking platter with coals smoking underneath and the spicy pickled vegetables on the side were tasty. The chicken pâté with croutons was also just good. I also sampled the polenta with greens and I did not like the texture or flavor, as there was a hint of bitterness. Overall, I really enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The prices are a bit high but you get good food and good service. I will definitely be back next time I am in the neighborhood.

A friend of mine that lives in the city now took me here for a quick drink and some food… well we got half of what we came here for . Parking may be a bit difficult but than, its San Francisco and driving anywhere is just overall a duh’ u shouldnt do it. We were lucky though and found a parking spot near a pile of bums and a sofa that exploded. Walking down the street to the lounge, which happened to be connected to a motel 6 type of hotel made me uneasy. I was however pleasantly surprised when I entered. I love all the different pieces, and since it was close to Halloween, their were cool skeleton men sitting on a chair by the fire place next to his skeleton dog. anywho when we arrived to grab a drink at the bar, asking for food he pointed us at the back end of the table to get food their… we followed instructions, placed our bums and right when we were about to feel comfortable, the bartender said that area was meant for a private party. We got up again and like a kid that the father that kept getting new jobs in different town we, moved us once again to another area. The bartender said he would be back to take our food orders. but like a bastard kid, the father kiss the kid on the forehead and never came back… The story ended there, we finished our drinks and went to another destination !

After a long night of going out in the city, Chambers Brunch was the perfect cure to my very very very very BAD hangover. For a table of 6, my group ordered the champagne bottle service($ 40) and it was good for 2 glasses per person. They also offer bottomless, but 2 was good enough for our hung over asses. For being semi-busy, the service was very good and the vibe of the restaurant is super chic and cool. They have a contemporary look with all the records, curtains, and dim lighting. Top that off with their soothing music, this place is purrrfeectt for those trying to recover from the night before. For food, I love the variety of their menu — from savory to sweet, they offer a lot of choices! My group of 6 tried everyone’s dishes and I highly suggest the pork belly or hung over hash as these were the more filling dishes compared to the others. If you want a lighter dish, the red quinoa salad is pretty tasty, but wish they had more prosciuto. The Spanish Omelette, soufflé pancake, and burger were okay. The soufflé pancake tasted like flour and wasn’t anything special, while the Spanish Omelette was good, but everything else with it was random. And the burger is a burger… Nothing special haha I am so glad my group randomly stumbled upon this place and I would definitely come here again especially when I am hungover!

My hubby and I went here for my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday on a Saturday night. My sister made a reservation for about eight of us and we were promptly seated upon arrival. The exterior of the restaurant looked like a giant black, windowless box. Thankfully there was a sign next to the restaurant that read«Chambers» because we would have definitely missed the place without it. The interior, however, was much more decorative, with beautiful tables and chairs, low warm lighting, and a cozy atmosphere. We had a couple of people waiting on us and the service was alright, nothing special. There wasn’t anything that particularly stood out. Because we had such a large party, we ordered double of the following appetizers: foie gras, kobe beef, pork belly, and house fries. The kobe beef was served on a heated stone that seared the raw meat whilst on the table so that was pretty cool. The pork belly was very tender and tasted great. The foie gras was served with unagi, an interesting flavor that strangely worked well. As for the fries, they came out as giant rectangular cubes that had actual pieces of potato in them. But we weren’t too big of a fan of them since they were more on the bland side. Because we were pretty full already, my hubby and I decided to split the Chamber burger with extra avocado. The bun was thinner than we expected, but instead of being crispy, it just tasted like flat bread. The patty was cooked and flavored well though. The side of fries was typical, but we did like the fresh herbs in it. Then finally for dessert, we ordered the coffee cake. While I understand that typical coffee cake has a crumbly surface, the entire piece of cake was barely holding it together, eliciting a rough texture. It did, however, come with a side of ice cream and honey lavender meringue which softened the cake up just a tad. But the combination of the cake, meringue, and ice cream quickly transformed the dessert to a sickly sweet dish. So for the kind of food we got and for the amount, we have to say that Chambers is a little too pricey. We weren’t too fond of the food and didn’t like how there weren’t that many options either. Most of our party just ordered the burger because there wasn’t much else to choose from. While the place looks nice, we probably won’t be back to a place where the food is mediocre.

From the outside looking in, you don’t see the impressive and chicness inside of Chambers! Once you enter, it was like a whole other vibe going on. I was surprised and digging it. There’s an outside, contemporary lounge area that is integrated with a motel and communal poolside. It’s very different on how they combined the two aspects together and it’s quite leisurely to sit back outside with a drink on hand. They have fabulous specialty cocktails as well as bottomless mimosas for 12 bucks with a brunch entrée. I got their Campari drink and it was refreshing while lounging and our party was waiting to be seated. It took awhile to be seated on a Friday night. This place gets discreetly packed. There’s a lounge area on the inside and they have these light bulbs lit up to BEAMAZING.(Key reminder to do so in life. Thanks, Chambers.) Their brunch food as well as their dinner entrees, are wonderful to the palate. It suits the speakeasy atmosphere and the whole jazz to this happening place. I love their pork belly with eggs for the morning with mimosas. Do order their Hangover Hash if you need a recovery from the night before! It has these unique gelatin, surface-covered, dressing that pops onto the salad with it that I found interesting. For dinner, their quinoa salad has texture and was healthy with fiber. I really like their Grit Fries as a bite-sized dish. Their Pork Belly was smokin’ delicious. Signature burger had a savory taste packed in it. Hangar steak was cooked perfectly and garnished nicely. Well, as far as the eye can see! You can stay in Chambers for hours.
