Had the California Roll and New York Roll. Both were awesome. The miso soup was also very tasty. The lady serving me was also super nice and friendly. Definitely will be back in the future

We come here a lot when we don’t feel like cooking and don’t want to spend too much on going out for a meal. The food at this place is so good for the price! 7 $ will get you a giant plate of yaki soba. The ramen is also good. If you eat in they will also give you little appetizers of kim chi and fruit. The people in the store are always very nice and accommodating. For example, we wanted something that wasn’t on the menu, and they made it for us anyways!

Been to this place about 3 times. I’ve tried the sukiyaki, breakfast burrito, udon, and katsu. Everything was great and the service was friendly. The menu is a little random but it makes for a good selection for different palates. Reasonable pricing and plenty of parking. What’s not to like about this place?

Lots of parking except for busy days in the neighborhood especially Saturday and Sunday. The food is very good. They have a good selection and the people are very nice. We really like the veggie tempura. Mom really likes the shrimp tempura. It’s not high end and the food is simple and perfect to take and go. I had a personal issue. There are two guys and a caregiver every morning eating there. They have a dog with them. Complained. The owner I assume came and spoke to me very calmly and nicely. It turns out dogs in California are allowed to be in an outdoor patio, have their own entrance, and must not sit on the furniture. The dig breaks these 3 rules. BUT if it is a service dog it is okay? Now they say they have papers but do not carry them. If you have a disabled placard you MUST carry your permit at all times. Which I am sure they would if they really had a service dog. When we all know service dogs DONOT sit on the furniture. Are not continuously petted. Nor OFF the leash in or out of the restaurant. I have a beef about it. I hope she asks them to sit outside because like at their home where they have a dog. They have dander all over the place. They are at the restaurant and both times I was there recently when they left, they SHOOK their blanket the dog sat on, inside if the restaurant. ISSUE again LOL. My mom is a hypochondriac in some cases but even I Agree with her on this. THISISNOTPROPERTODO. Well, come try the food it’s simple but tasty and the people are nice. It’s not a 5 or 4 star restaurant but it’s great for convenience and want this style of food. Minus the dog people.

Decent food for a good price. The menu is a hodgepodge of randomness… ranging from breakfast burrito, burger, to teri plates, udon soups, all served with some type of banchan. Truly reminds me of the saying«jack of all trades, master of none». The restaurant doesn’t disappoint but I won’t crave anything on the menu. The servers are very nice, the place is cheap, and the food is a-ok. Definitely worth stopping by for convenience.

I’ve never actually sat here to eat, but I have picked up some food to-go a few times. The ladies here are such sweethearts, and they all have a very soft level of tone. They have a variety of items both from the typical«American» menu and the typical«Japanese» menu. In my opinion, everything goes by pretty quick considering the amount of people they have working here. At most, you’ll be waiting about 5 – 7 minutes for you food. M personally favorite would probably have to be there New York roll. The New York roll is just your typical shrimp tempura sushi roll, but I love that they fry the shrimp when you order. Its still nice and crispy when you bite into it.

I don’t really like that this place is advertised as Japanese with a Japanese name because it’s not really Japanese cuisine at all. I ordered the spicy chicken teriyaki and I got the weird salad that people keep mentioning on here and I didn’t enjoy it. The entrée itself was just really saucy chicken next to a bed of white rice. It was ok but reminiscent of microwaveable food. My bf got yakisoba and again it was ok but it was very wet and more like chow mien rather than yakisoba. I will say the service was great but the prices are not cheap enough for me wanting to go back there again.

Yakinuku is my favorite local Japanese restaurant. Prices are reasonable, and one of my favorites is the bacon fried rice, yummy! Not your typical Japanese restaurant. They serve Western breakfast, the fried rice is Chinese, etc. conveniently located in diamond Heights shopping center, you can do your grocery shopping afterwords, go to the bank, there’s a post office there and you could drop off your laundry afterwords LOL!

It was ok. I give it three because I didn’t get sick afterwards and neither did my friends. Sometimes you walk into a place and you just get that voice inside warning you that«maybe you might get food poisoning here???» It sounds bad but the menu was all over the place ie burgers, breakfast, Korean, Chinese and sushi and all I wanted was sushi. So the variety was cool. There was beer(thank god) and the sushi was decent. Also the service was pretty good just don’t go in with high expectations.

Great neighborhood spot! Everyone was very friendly! Staff treated me like family! A group of special need adults wandered in without their guide. The sweet gal who served me offered them cold drinks and she paid for them. Very impressed with their kindness and service! Food was good too!

If you are in this area, or in the neighborhood I highly recommend this fast/casual sit down restaurant. Great spot to dine in or dash out. The menu is a hodgepodge of food including Japanese sushi and hot dishes, American burgers, and breakfast all day. At first I thought this place may have an identity crisis, but I love that this place has such good variety close to home. It’s a great spot in this center as there is a limited selection of food places here. Excellent service, fresh food(including fresh salmon), and made to order. For the full meals as the salmon teriyaki plate, it includes miso soup and a mixture of salads rolled up into one. It is a bit odd, but the salad includes fresh fruit, greens, macaroni salad, and gelatin. During another visit, I craved a burger and though not spectacular, the meat was fresh and cooked perfectly. The fries were standard but fried well and not greasy. I ordered the salmon teriyaki sans the sauce, though a little higher priced than their other food items.

Very good little shop hidden in the Diamond Heights Shopping center for a quick lunch or dinner. Perfect for those lazy nights when you really just cannot be bother to make dinner. best thing about restaurant: (+) wait staff. the owner of this restaurant is endlessly kind! she cares about her customers and you can tell by how they treat her! she definitely is able to make you feel like the most important customer in the entire restaurant, even if that means she is constantly running back and forth from the kitchen. notable items: –pancakes. think your average kind of dive-y diner sort of pancakes. crisp on the outside, fluffy on the inside. better for late night cravings than it is for actual breakfast. –tempura udon. nothing special, but tastes like you would expect and is satisfying. –beef/seafood tofu soup. this dish, at a lot of places, what you get is a spicy tofu soup in a stone bowl. usually it comes in a small bowl and the amount of rice you get is usually enough to soak up the amount of liquid. here, the spicy tofu soup is really a soup. as in, there’s enough of it to fill a large bowl(or one of those conventional, plastic to-go soup containers). that same size bowl of rice would drown in this amount of soup. nonetheless, after you get over the initial shock value of the amount of spicy tofu soup you are getting(too spicy/thick to drink like a normal soup too) this dish is good. well-seasoned, it goes well with the rice. I have gotten this dish multiple times and have yet to tire of it!

HIDDENPLACEWITHONEOFTHEBESTPLATELUNCHESINTHEBAYAREA This is actually a hidden gem. I’m from Hawaii, and I found out the woman that owns this place is not only from Hawaii, but Korean. Ono! What does this mean for you? Unlike many other plate lunch places that purport to be authentic, this place actually IS. I was expecting to find a normal teriyaki place, but have stumbled across one of the best, authentic plate lunch places in the Bay Area.(Mac salad is awesome here.) The prices are great, service friendly(in the genuine Hawaii way), the food delicious, the little extras they throw in(kimchee, salad, jello, fruit) just make this an outrageous value. More proof that it’s good: tons of policemen, UPS/Fedex drivers, and neighborhooders return and keep this absolutely hidden place going. My friend who claims to love sushi – but really only loves California rolls if she’s honest – loves this place too. Don’t enter with unrealistic expectations. This is not the French Laundry or Nobu. But every time I eat here, I end up thinking, I really need to come back more often.

This place is really… funny…and a bit unexpected for me. The gf and I were looking for some Japanese food one day, and came upon this place that had pretty good reviews — when we arrived, I was shocked, as it seemed more like a fast food burger joint-type style than a Japanese restaurant… we decided to give it a try anyway, and were surprised again — this time with the portions. A meal comes with salad, fruit, and huge portions! Given it may not be the best-tasting Japanese food I’ve ever had, but quantity over quality with this one, as the boxes were super-cheap too, and I’d take that over average food w/average portions w/average prices anyday! What was also omoshiroi was that we were actually able to bring in our own sake and drank in the restaurant as well, and the waitress was totally cool. win ;)
