Came here during the craziness of the North beach street fair. Small location, with a few booths and several smaller tables. Definitely not a place for«private» conversations. Make sure you don’t mind loud music and touching elbows with your neighbors :) I would say Chubby noodle is definitely a place for drinking(lots of sake and beer) and socializing with friends over some tasty bar food. Overall, the meal was good, but not amazing. Tastewise, flavors are definitely more catered toward… non-traditional asian tastebuds. Food here is not authentically asian and most definitely more«fusion» as the descriptions say. My friend and I shared the following: Spicy green beans: great flavor, spicy, mediocre portion, but overall good char on the bans Pork Ribs: I would say the sauce is more on the tangy side. probably a bit too tangy for my taste, would’ve appreciated a bit more sweetness to be added mixed in with the vinegar. Though it was tender and fell off the bone. Chubby chicken — Reminded me of chicken tenders. yea nothing special. Drinks: dont get the jose rose sangria… it taste like water. Overall i would recommend this place for socialization and less for the food. The food is definitely«trendy» and the atmosphere is «fun». I wouldn’t come here for amazing dining experience though. Probably find better choices and selections at a local mom and pop asian shop.

Chubby Noodle on the weekends is an EXPERIENCE. It’s $ 37/pp for 1.5 hours of all-you-can-stuff-your-face(AYCE&AYCD) brunch bliss. If you choose to make a reservation, the clock starts running at the time of your reservation, not when you arrive, so get there early! Atmosphere is «trendy» or «poppin,’» complete with hip hop music blasting and tables taking shots of vodka. It was around 1pm when I spotted this. Nice. Their menu is relatively short and simple, and food comes out pretty quickly. The servers we had were rushed, but attentive. They were really great at making sure our glasses were full and keeping us updated on how much time we had left. Things my group of 4 would(and did) order twice: ++ Watermelon Mimosa: I much preferred this light drink over the sangria on the menu! ++ Chilled Ramen: cool, refreshing, and tasty ramen noodles with a fried egg, kimchi, and pickled cucumbers ++ Pork Wontons: not particularly authentic, but really flavorful! ++ Garlic Green Beans: super tasty and borderline addictive. We polished our first and second plate off with relative ease. I wouldn’t bother with: – Shanghai Dumplings: we ordered these thinking they’d be like xiao long bao, but the skin was dense and thick. The filling was extremely dry — nothing like the soup dumplings I expected! Overall, definitely a unique experience that I would not mind paying for again, but I probably would wait for a special occasion to come back!

Decent brunch place, perfect for when you wake up starving and want to eat everything. Not everything on the menu was a hit for me, but there were enough tasty things for me to want to go back some time. It’s an all you can eat/drink place — which was a surprise to me when I showed up because I just Unilocaled«ramen» and didn’t read any of the reviews because I was hungry. We went here on a Sunday morning(around 11am) with no reservation. All the tables in restaurant were reserved by the time we walked in but there were seats at the bar so we took those. It was $ 37 for the all you can eat menu(which is the only thing they offer there). The mimosa flavor of the day was honeydew and you can get it without alcohol — which was really good since I don’t drink. The drinks had little rubber ducks floating in them which was adorable( ) We had: Chilled Ramen( ) One of my favorites from the meal. It’s a dry chilled ramen with kimchi, vegetables, and a runny egg. Didn’t completely satisfy my ramen craving since it’s not your typical ramen but still delicious nonetheless. Pork Wontons( ) Really good. There were random spicy bits in it. We ordered 2 of these. Breakfast Jook( ) A decent breakfast jook. One of the better things in the menu though it doesn’t stand out to me when compared with jook I’ve had at other places. Shrimp Fried Rice( ) Average fried rice. There are better things to eat on the menu especially since rice fills you up pretty fast. Steamed Pork Buns( ) These came in steam buns like the ones on peking duck. The filling was a bit salty for me but overall it’s a decent dish. Shanghai Dumplings These were dry and disappointing. I believe they had pork filling. I wouldn’t order this again. Peking Duck Steam Buns( ) Decent duck, a bit dry. It comes with everything you would expect. I definitely recommend ordering these. Bok Choy and Mushrooms( ) Pretty good vegetables.

Inside joke: the wifey and me kept referring to this place as the Chubby Bunny, I don’t know, we’re complete dorks. It sounded funnier for some reason. Anyway, we were staying in our hotel and were feeling a little lazy so we decided on ordering some food through DoorDash since the wifey had a free delivery code. Once we noticed Poke on the menu, we were down. We agreed on the poke, fried chicken, and Kobe beef noodles. SOFRIGGIN’ GOOD. Yeah, the amount of poke was unfortunate but hella fresh and tasty. Those kobe beef noodles though. I’m drooling just typing this up. My favorite was the fried chicken– not gonna lie. The next time we’re in the city, we’ll visit the actual restaurant. Yum.

came to chubby noodle this past saturday for brunch with 5 other gf’s and it was a blast. the north beach location is quite small — it was pretty packed when we all showed up at noon. 90 minute all you can eat and drink and GO! it was a lot of fun. there is basically club music playing in the background with lots of bass. brunch menu is mix-n-match 3 drinks and 15 food items, and when you sit down the waitress will put in a selection of things for you. then you just order more and more! obvi… food is okay for asian fusion, authenticity is out the window but creativity is high. i’d come back just for the atmosphere!

Really, Really Good Eats! Suggestion: try a little of everything. Decide what you love and then get seconds, and maybe thirds… Don’t be fooled by the«Tacos» sign out front. I HOPE they keep that sign, it makes the place that much more interesting and local. Because you either stumble into the place by accident(I’ve seem people come in thinking they were going to order tacos) or you are on a mission to satisfy your asian-fusion cravings. Either way, it’s a great little addition to North Beach eats.

The food was really good. My friend had the Kobe beef noodles and I had the fried chicken and it was excellent. The sauce they gave with the fried chicken was next level. I was a pretty casual environment that felt modern but not too hipster. For a fusion place, they had the theme just right. The service however was very slow, it took over 25 minutes for our dishes to be served, except for the fried chicken. So that was a bit of a bummer. But overall, i liked it and and would go back again

Oh my f***ing gawd. Haha this place is delicious!!! We frequent this joint almost on a weekly basis. The team that works here are all super friendly and embrace the neighborhood. Their tunes are on point. I don’t know how they do it but every time I’m in there I’m mouthing the words to half the jams and usually dancing in my seat. ~The pork tacos are bomb!!! They have Pistos flour homemade shell that is perfectly crisp and chewy. ~The garlic noodles are a go to simple order. A white guy pleaser(my husband) ~The lemongrass chicken vermicelli is a lady pleaser for those who wants to eat something a bit on the lighter side. Think cold noodle salad and its sooooo good. ~The fried chicken is what they are known for and what originally got us hooked on this place when they were inside of Amante. ~They used to have a prawn noodle dish that I was in love with but I haven’t seen it resurface for a while now. ~they serve their beer in a can and thankfully they serve fort point(a local) beer. Love the Kolsch. It washes down most of the grease(tasty not nasty). Over all you can’t go wrong eating here. Enjoy. If you are looking to get delivery from this place use Caviar. It’s reliable and gets you your grub pretty quickly and they have accurate estimates on arrival. Sign up with this link to get $ 10 off each of your next two orders in San Francisco.:

I don’t want to leave this review, because I want this place to remain relatively easy to get into. But it’s my duty. Holy crap, talk about fun brunch. Came STARVING with two girlfriends, and luckily the food starts coming quick :) the mimosas were flowing, friendly service, party atmosphere for a Sunday morning. The peking duck and breakfast jook stood out, shrimp fried rice and salt and pepper shrimp hit the spot, wontons and dumplings were a little underwhelming but still passable. At the end of our brunch after we paid, they didn’t rush us out and were generous with the bottomless drink pours throughout brunch. And, there were a couple birthday parties going on, and they poured a sake shot for everyone in the restaurant! Very fun part of the day. 4 stars instead of 5 because of how sugary the drinks were, and some dishes were hotter/fresher than others. But I’m now a true believer in this format of brunch, and can’t wait to come back here again to nurse hangovers with greasy food and tropical morning drinks.

Stumbled upon this place because Unilocal shows that they serve porridge. Sat down and didn’t see any porridge on the menu. Come to realize that they often change their menus so a list of ramen noodles were found, but no porridge. at alll… Decided to order the Chubby Fried Chicken and Tuna Poke during their happy hour time… Didn’t see a happy hour menu, so the snacks were full priced at around ~$ 11-$ 13 per dish. The fried chicken came out piping hot and very fresh with a type of aioli sauce. tuna Poke had a soy sauce, scallion, sesame, ginger, marinade which you pair with a fried«asian chip». All in all, the food was okay. the ambiance was nice, and the music was top 40s… but unless I was stuck in that area and really wanted Americanized Asian fusion dish and top 40s music, I could pass. Maybe next time I’ll try their drinks?

Looks like April fool’s day came a day early this year. This place is a joke that trolls on white mid-west techies with no knowledge of good Asian food. We had been in the area for happy hour and wanted some good ramen to wash down the cold beer we indulged. We found chubby noodle, were intrigued by the four stars so walked two blocks over to indulge. Walking in, the place was packed but we grabbed one of the last two tops; in that moment, we were excited… but those feelings quickly faded. Our(sad) meal consisted of: 1) Started with the garlic green beans… Which should be renamed«sodium overload green beans». Think: green beans cooked in soy sauce, with a pinch of salt and then topped with an oyster/soy sauce combo. Every bite I took I was tripling my daily sodium intake for a whopping $ 8. 2) MTL got the Chilled ramen noodles. By far, the worst ramen I have had in SF. Laughable, really. The meat was rough, the broth was bland(think: rain water) and it was a small bowl for $ 11. 3) Spicy garlic noodles. $ 10. Ill preface this by saying im from the south, I douse everything I eat in siracha and I can handle my spicy. This was just a small bowl of light-garlic extra-spicy garlic noodles. Every bite taste the same, there was nothing that stuck out and it was just… Spicy. Not good, just spicy. So much so that you couldn’t even taste any garlic. On the way back to the car, mind you… 3 blocks away, I threw up three times. Mostly unprocessed foods because even my stomach has standards. With Chinatown a few blocks away offering an abundance of great food at a low price point, do yourself a favor and skip this place and leave it for the white mid-west kids with no palate for good Asian food. Even after 4 beers and a Chinese mai tai, it was still bad. We dropped damn near $ 40 after tax for a less-than-mediocre meal that didn’t give me a chubby, at all. 2 stars because our server was nice. Tip: –no, just… No.

Chubby noodle is such a small place but yet they were still able to accommodate my large party of 9. Called in to make a reservation and when they were unsure, they gave a call back later in the day to give confirmation. Staff is super friendly and understanding. Portion is a little small in my opinion. Of all the stuff my party ordered, I’ll give the best and worst. Best: Gotta get the Chubby Fried Chicken $ 11. Delicious and the sauce is amazingg. Worst: The Spicy Garlic Noodles $ 10 were heavily peppered, making it really spicy and not very tasty. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they were super nice by giving us all a shot of their special Chubby Noodle sake, on the house. It was really smooth. Should definitely come give this place a try.

What a cool spot! Sweet music bumping with fantastic food, you can’t go wrong here! We stopped in to check this new spot and got there right before it started filling up for dinner and realized that we dropped in quite the hot spot to be! I ordered a couple of beers of which they had a nice selection and we went right to a couple selections of noodles. Both were really great, with fresh ingredients and surprising depth in flavor. We also went for the dumplings and found them to be very comforting as well. I could see this place as a local hangout, a quick bite to eat, or a fun date night option. The food, beverage, and service don’t disappoint. Sometimes it’s nice to have great food in an atmosphere that isn’t quite so formal!

Top 40 music and delectable asian food? I was sold from the first 5 minutes I walked in here. This was my 3rd time at Chubby Noodle – the previous two times, I’ve been to the one in the Marina and both locations are awesome. They feel different too– the Marina one is a little brighter and more bro-ey(but that’s to be expected since it’s the Marina). The North Beach one is a little more dimly lit with funky décor. This time, my friend and I split a sake, fried chicken, pork buns(on their specials list), and spicy garlic noodles. Everything was excellent, but if you need to skip something, skip the chicken– it’s a bit standard and isn’t thaaaat unique in my opinion. The noodles were perfectly done and are so addicting. I forgot what I got the previous time in the Marina, but any of the noodles are . The buns though, wowza. Those were incredible. I think I inhaled mine in about 60 seconds. The pork was super tender and came with some tangy sauce and incredible toppings that I can’t remember now. This is a place that you can go to once a week for sure. The food is so well done, staff is amazing, and the atmosphere is awesome. Again, don’t forget the top 40 music… so clutch.

OHMAN. This place was just incredible. My girlfriends and I went to the North Beach location on a Friday about 7:30 and waited maybe 20 minutes to get a seat(perfect amount of time to grab a beer at the bar). The atmosphere is definitely one to consider. I personally really liked it because it had a laid back and hip vibe. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a quiet place to have an intimate and romantic date. They blast hip-hop music and old school jams. So aside from having a really cool atmosphere, the food is AWESOME. Table favorite? Definitely the chicken wings. I’m not a particular fan of chicken wings, but these somehow have a ton of flavor packed right into the breading. You could simply eat them plain and they’d be great. But the spicy sauce they serve on the side just takes them to another level. I also highly recommend the spicy garlic noodles(with a name like Chubby Noodle, you gotta get noodles right?), and the korean pork tacos(by the way, those suckers are big tacos). The tuna poke salad is pretty good, and yet of course also very expensive. The only thing I really didn’t care for was the special of the day which was shrimp dumplings. It was very misleading because believe me, these were a cross between dumplings and steamed buns… just very strange and not very appetizing. All in all I would highly highly recommend this restaurant. I can’t wait to try their sister restaurant, Don Pisto’s soon!

I love his place. Has been going to Chubby Noodles since they were used to be at Amante. I have been to both the locations North Beach & Marina. Ambiance: The new place in North Beach(not new anymore) with the bamboo and wood décor is funky cool place. They blast cool hip-hop music most of the times. Food: Spicy Garlic Noodles with Fried Chicken(4⁄5): Yes Noodles topped with Fried Chicken. One of the best & most famous on the menu. You can also order fried chicken as separate entrée. But i think the Fried chicken when they were at Amante was more juicier and better. Pork Tacos(5⁄5): These are the best fusion recipe they have. Flour tortillas with pork & pickled carrots & cucumbers. Pork Ribs(4⁄5): Well cooked & different seasoning. I love it. But they run out of it all the time. If you want to try the ribs make sure you go early. Fried Rice(4⁄5): Amazing fried rice. Rather i should say it used to be amazing. They changed the recipe few weeks back. And now it is like any other Fried Rice. Alcohol: Good collection of Sake. Their Chubby Noodle house Sake is good. Service(5⁄5): Very nice & friendly staff. Amazing People. They have some items on the menu changing all the time. And everything i have tried till now has been good. Overall 4⁄5 for food, service, ambiance, service, price.

My boyfriend and I rarely ever go out to the city. We really have no reason to, our lives revolve around the East Bay. His cousin works in the city and he wanted to celebrate his birthday out there, hence how we ended up at Chubby Noodle. Now, since it was a group of guys putting this shindig together, I didn’t find out where we were going until the day of. That’s fine, I looked it up on Unilocal… I always like to know what I’m getting myself into. My boyfriend called it «Fat Noodle». He swears that he told me Chubby Noodle, but why would I be looking up Fat Noodle on Unilocal by myself? Anyways, that’s neither here, nor there… we figured out where we were going. There are two Chubby Noodle locations. I don’t know my way around the city, therefore I have no idea where each district is located. But I do know where Broadway is and that is exactly where this restaurant is located. Parking is atrocious on a Saturday night. Driving up the hills is terrifying for people from suburbia. We ended up parking in a garage off of Columbus and taking a nice walk past the strip clubs. Hey, at least we were with another couple and had some thing to talk about on the drive back home. So to Chubby Noodle. My boyfriend’s cousin and his girlfriend are the only two that had ever been to this restaurant before. There was a total of 8 people with our party. It’s a dark place, intimate feeling at night. It is small, so I can see why the wait can be long during peak hours. When we arrived, everyone that worked there was really friendly. The waitress came over and asked us if we had ever been, which a majority of us said no. She went over the menu, what the popular dishes were and the specials for the night. We decided that 7 of us wanted to drink, when she suggested sake. We were trying to figure out how many sake bottles and beers to get, when she suggested a big sake bottle and two big cans of beer for us to all split. When she brought the bottle, we were all kind of in disbelief. The bottle was like two large wine bottles combined. I’m not sure what we were expecting, but I can tell you that it wasn’t that bottle. She poured a round for everyone, we passed them around and poured the beer into the other glasses she brought. I believe the bottle of sake was $ 120 and came to about $ 135 with the beer. Divided by 7 people, comes out to approximately $ 20 per person, which isn’t bad. That alcohol was more than enough for all of us. If you have a large group and want to drink sake, I would suggest the big bottle and big beer cans. We were having a hard time deciding on what to eat because there were so many of us. I decided that we should split the table in half, two couples order what they want and the other two couples order what they wanted and then split accordingly. Our group of four ordered the fried chicken(although, they brought out two orders… we kept it because we knew we’d eat it), spicy garlic noodles, fried rice(I asked for a fried egg on the top, but it was left off) and korean tacos. Fried chicken — 5⁄5 so good… I could have eaten a bunch of these. The dipping sauce that they include is SO good. I could eat that all day as well. Spicy garlic noodles — I love noodles, but I’m not a spicy person at all. I ate it because I liked it, but it was a bit of a struggle because I’m so wimpy when it comes to spiciness. My boyfriend said he didn’t like that sauce that it was made with, but I liked it. The only thing I would change is the spicy factor — because I’m a weenie. Fried rice — I had read a lot about the fried rice and I was excited to try it. I just had the most amazing fried rice earlier in the week, so maybe my expectations were high. This was my least favorite dish out of the night. It wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t amazing. I wonder if my mind would have been changed if the fried egg was on it. Korean tacos — I read about how people really love the tacos. I now understand because these tacos are SOGOOD! I could have eaten like a dozen of these on their own. The meat inside was so flavorful, I would come back to SF just for these tacos! Speaking of tacos, there’s a sign on the outside that says«Tacos». There is no indication of any noodles, chubby or not. We passed by this spot without even thinking that it was the actual restaurant we were looking for. I appreciated the 90’s and ’00’s hip hop they played. Although, when it was getting close to closing time and they were trying to get people out of there, they started playing«Hello» by Adele. I know what they were doing there, get these drunk people to move along and cry about their ex’s in the bar at the end of the street. I get it, when it’s time to close, you want people to move along. Thank you Chubby Noodle, for making our rare trip to SF on a Saturday night worth it.

Wow, we had quite the experience here. Last weekend we called in about 30 minutes prior to our arrival and we were able to secure a reservation for 5 people. We were quickly seated, and received very prompt service. The family style dining provided the perfect opportunity to try a lot of the amazing items on the menu. The fried chicken was great, the creamy dipping sauce that it comes with is truly something else. The spicy garlic noodles were also a favorite item that we ordered. We also tried the Korean pork tacos, as well as the pork fried rice and Szechuan green beans. We washed it all down with a really nice sake, Ozeki. It was a nice unfiltered and delicious sake. The music was a bit loud, and quite a line formed outside. The price point is also a bit high, but none of these reasons will prevent me from coming back here in the future.

Meh. I’ve experienced better. This is exactly what I feel about this restaurant. SO many people. So many people tell me what a great place this is. So I went in with pretty high standards. The first time I went to Chubby Noodle was with my boyfriend. We love asian fusion food but right when we got there, we realized this is honestly not that big of a restaurant and more of a «bar» restaurant. The menu(very limited) was as small and simple as an in n out menu. We ordered ramen(priced at 16?) and some fried chicken. We were not full and the bill was already around 40 bucks. The fried chicken was more like chicken tenders and there was only 5 – 6 small slices for us to share. The ramen tasted funky because of the broth and we were quickly able to finish them both cause they weren’t that big. We could have easily ordered more food but it would have been around 60 for two people. I am ok with that but the food didn’t taste amazing so why would we order more? We finished and left and went to buy other food for the remainder of our dinner. This place is overpriced with mediocre food and small portions. The worst kind of combination for a restaurant, right?

Pros: * Oil can asahi — BIG, as they say! * Food came out VERY fast — was a plus for eating with impatient kids * tonkotsu ramen was quite good, esp the broth * Very nice and attentive service Cons: * No egg as promised in my ramen, and i LOVE ramen eggs! * Food came out almost too fast — makes me worry a lot of stuff is pre-made, though that’s okay in certain cases * Bathroom in an awkward spot in the kitchen, long lines because only one unisex restroom Overall, a lovely lunch — will return

Food 3⁄5. Ambience 4⁄5. Photo opportunity 5⁄5. We went in on a Sunday lunch time and only had another table occupied. With that said, the music was nice and we ordered food from the specials. The food was as good as most ‘Asian fusion’ restaurant but definitely wasn’t the best I’ve tried. We ordered the Chicken Chow Mien and Lemongrass coconut broth noodle with chicken. Both were honestly okay in flavor but wasn’t exceptional either. I think it lacked salt. The other thing I ordered was the alcoholic beverage from the brunch menu. Looked good but taste alright. Overall, it’s a nice location if you are looking for average food.

Came here for my first time tonight and totally liked the vibe. Good music, nice furniture and ambiance and great service. I am giving it 4 stars because I wasn’t a huge fan of the ramen. I can’t be too picky about it because I realize it isn’t a ramen joint but there just wasn’t that much flavor in the broth and the noodles were a bit too al dente for me. I did love the fried chicken and the Szechwan green beans. Oh, and another downfall was the $ 10 can of Aooha IPA. I would come back and try more for sure!

I came here for lunch, arrived not very hungry and ordered two hand rolls. I get it, they’re hand rolls, but they really skimp on the fillings. I left with my wallet $ 18 lighter($ 15 + tip) and even more hungry than I arrived. You’ll have to order at least 3 – 4 items on the menu to feel somewhat full, and at that rate you might as well try Original Joe’s or even Don Pistos. This place used to be a Pistos, and I miss those(reasonably priced, yet delicious) tacos.

Our first experience when walking in this past Saturday evening looking for a table was being greeted by Jordan, the energetic GM, who politely apologized that the wait was going to be roughly 30 minutes. He took my brother’s cell# down and told us he’d call when our table was ready. However, after about 10 minutes, he called and notified us that they were ready for us. Unfortunately, we were busy scarfing down a slice of pizza so we asked him to let the party behind us go first. When we returned(10 mins later) and as we were standing by the door, he brought over complimentary sake shots and again sincerely thanked us for waiting. When we were sat shortly after downing our shot, he showed us to our table and said he’d bring by yet another shot. We ordered some small dishes to share, the Spicy Garlic Noodles weren’t too salty and were a bit on the spicy side(which suited me well). The Peking Duck Steam Buns were warm, fresh and juicy. The Korean Pork Tacos were succulent and also a bit on the spicy side. The small dishes are complemented well especially if you’re indulging in some sake and/or beer. During our meal, we were checked in on 3 times. I can’t say enough about the service here. It was literally almost overwhelming. Don’t come here expecting a quiet date but come here knowing that you will be taken care of, and that you should expect to enjoy some good food and drinks, and unwind from your hectic life in a slick and fun atmosphere.

The pork ramen is great! Although it was a bit spicy for me, it was perfect for a colder day. The noodles and soft boiled egg were perfect! The broth was tasty and pure; it was not thick or greasy. I’d would definitely order the ramen again and am excited to try other items in the menu next time. Btw, the music they played while i was here on a Saturday afternoon were oldies pop and rockabilly; I thought a Japanese greaser was gonna show up anytime during my meal… It was good music!

Food was just ok… def not worth what we paid for it. My boyfriend ordered the chicken fried rice and since the waitress said it was family style, we thought we would be able to share. NOPE. It looked like a side dish! Then, the guy clearing our table spilled sauce all over my friend, and instead of apologizing, dude just stood there and asked if he was ok. The waitress, bless her heart but probably can’t do a proper load of laundry, brought my friend a kitchen towel on a plate and said she put sanitizer on it so he could wipe off his pants. NOTHANKS. I’m willing to bet money that whatever sanitizer that comes from the kitchen isn’t intended to come into contact with skin, much less my friend’s pants. Then, the waitress brought us 4 shots of sake on the house. I know her intentions were well but coming from the hospitality industry, one shouldn’t assume that alcohol is going to make everything ok. I don’t drink sake at all, and another in our group is allergic to alcohol. So basically, nothing was resolved. Definitely won’t be back.

I really only come here for one thing — the Chubby Fried Chicken. Honestly, it’s amazing. I could eat it 7 days a week. The pork tacos are also pretty yummy — but only two? One of the times I came they came with some chili oil or other spicy sauce on the side. This past time, none :/. Most of the time this spot is good, but don’t expect too much. Earlier today when I was there with my friend, our server blatantly stopped listening to my him(this is while they were talking about something on the menu) to wave at her friend through the window. After finishing her 10 second smile/wave she turned back to my friend and said, «Sorry can you just ask that again?» Come on girl, just try to keep it professional!

I’d give five stars if I were only reviewing the excellent food and service. The ramen, the green beans, and the hand rolls were superb. Delicious sake and our server was attentive and kind. One star because the music is misogynist and offensive. As four women dining together, we heard the words«b*tch,» «p*ssy,» and«ho*s» too many times to feel comfortable. I understand that you are catering to a certain demographic, but why? The neighborhood is hurting for delicious, authentic food like yours. Make it welcoming for all of us. We’ll go back if you do away with the demeaning music at an unnecessarily high volume. But once again, food was excellent! Kudos to the kitchen staff.

Not a fan of this place, it’s dark, and they play loud a$$ music. If I wanted to go to a damn club, I would just go to a club, why would I want to come here!!! Came here because I wanted to try this new spot in the area, but I def won’t be coming back! Ordered the sashimi for the appetizer, fried rice, a beer, and a bowl of ramen. The food was not good and the service was terrible. The total came out to be 60(tip included). Fu** this place, never coming back here again.

Great experience! The place is a bit small, but creates an intimate atmosphere and is well decorated. This location has a sushi menu, and it’s pretty awesome. The hamachi plate is perfection especially with a glass of their sake they call«the bad boy»! The sushi chef is also super friendly and added to the experience :)

Great spot for some casual made chic, slightly Americanized Korean /Chinese food. I wouldn’t call it fusion. The garlic noodles are good, not overpowering but also a little one note — probably best for sharing. The yellow fin tuna yakitori is good. The bbq pork fried rice is actually pretty good and very reasonably priced. The pork tacos are okay, I didn’t care for the fact that the tortillas were a bit oily/fried. The best thing was the duck buns — it’s basically like Peking duck. Service is fast and friendly. I’d come back.

#tl;dr Can’t go wrong with any of their 3 spots, but Marina’s my fave with this & Green St tied for 2nd depending on which is closer /open /less packed when hanger strikes. I’m going to stop calling it North Beach and call it Nerd Beach from now on. #neeeardebeeech #boiiiii At Giormario Bros, I got into an HP Lovecraft talk w bartenderbro; here at Yubb Yood I ran into a video game connoisseur. I can at least take comfort knowing this hood isn’t raising my hipster quotient. (-_^) Duck Buns #simulsoftxcrisp #twss (-_^) Duck Jook #wbacon (-_^) Daily Ceviche #colorfulpuffchips (-_-) Fried Chicken #bromeydontplaydat My only real«issue» was they kept playing the parental advisory explicit lyrics music while a mom & kid were dining. I’d heard #rip Michael Jackson cut on then cut off real quick, so I know they can choose what plays. I understand this venue isn’t aimed at kids & vulgarity doesn’t bother everyone, but still. No oysters when I went, but their common selection is Miyagi #basic and St. Simon, flexopen per market availability. TBD if they’ll do HH or $ 1 oysters. Don’t act like you didn’t think I’d inquire. #doyouevendollaroystersbro CURRENTINFO (415) 296‑9600 straight to voicemail for now Tue-Sat 5:30pm-11:00pm Closed Sun & Mon

They’ve done it again. Welcome addition to the hood. If you want to listen to some good 90s hip hop(and with some michael jackson and early 2000’s stuff thrown in), and down a good beer or some sake(or wine), and some eats — this is your place. You probably already know their recipe for success, but it’s got a «more asian» flair — meaning a small variety of skewers and some«asian» flavors. The mustard chicken wings were on point. Fried, but not deep fried(ie not battered), and had a great mustard flavor. The Meatball skewers were nice and juicy. The chicken and avocado skewers were also juicy, with the addition of the avocado sauce. Could have had a bit more kick for my tastes. The swordfish skewers also well prepared — not dry in the slightest with a great flavor. While that apparently was not enough for my solo self — the duck buns were a last minute addition(I think they’re already on the regular chubby menu), and they also did not disappoint. I accompanied this all with a Headlands Brewery Groupe G Belgian RyePA — once again glad to support local. They threw in a glass of sake of which they said«this is called ‘a good day’» — hey, I can’t complain. Overall, a great addition — look forward to spending a lot more evenings here.
