Dr. Curran reminds me of medical care in the old days when«care» was an important part of what you got. He’s at the point where he is experienced enough to know how to practice his profession at the maximum level, yet young enough to still have that commitment to learning, which I think slips away from many professionals – not just doctors – after they’ve been working thirty or more years. I’ve had several cardiologists over the years, including Richard Myler, a legend and pioneer in the field. Dr. Curran is among the very best. I feel fortunate to have him as my «heart guy.» And it’s a bonus that his staff is caring, informed and highly competent.

Dr. Curran is wonderful. I take care of my elderly mother; we recently changed her primary care physician from someone we were not satisfied with to Dr. Curran. We are extremely pleased with the result. Dr. Curran is a gentle, patient and serious doctor who really listens to his patients and is willing to investigate alternative possible diagnoses and treatments — he cares and takes the energy to follow up. He is not someone who prescribes drugs at the drop of a hat, which I really appreciate. He considers the patient’s entire history. When my mother recently suffered a stroke, he was in the emergency room at St. Mary’s about ten minutes after we got there, conferring with the ER doctor about my mother’s condition. The entire time that she was in the hospital, he was on top of the situation. He saw her every day and phoned me just as often. I have nothing but praise for him.
