I think this is for the SOMA StrEAT Food Trucks location… We got the chicken tikka masala burrito… anddddd it was pretty bland… we haven’t had it in year or so… and it just wasn’t the same! Not satisfying at all! bummer.

SEXYFRIES are definitely sexy! I ordered this«hella vegan» style, which meant my waffle cut sweet potato fries were covered with Chana masala(chickpeas), pico de gallo, and chutneys. It had a nice mellow heat to it which balanced out really well with the sweetness of the fries. The cheese and onions on top added to the complex, savory taste of the whole dish. It was $ 9 but you get a very good amount of fries. Definitely coming back to try other vegetarian/vegan dishes!

This review is for the Mango Lassi only. Had it just now from the UN Plaza Off the Grid. Very disappointing — chalky consistency, tart without the mango’s natural sweetness, and a bitter aftertaste, I’m reluctant to drink it. It’s not that hard to make a good, creamy, slightly sweet lassi, and from an Indian food truck you’d expect something tasty. This just feels like a waste of money and an affront to the taste buds.

Amazing customer service at this neighborhood joint. I’ll definitely be back with friends. Awesome chicken tikka masala burrito! Tender chicken and just the right level of spice.

Long lines but totally worth the wait! This is probably my favorite food truck in SF, highly recommend the deconstructed samosa

Ate at Cupertino Off the Grid Chicken tikka masala burrito — good flavors but unbelievably greasy. The entire tortilla was soaked through and drenched with oil. Very off putting. Sexy fries carne — another dish just swimming in grease. Fries were soggy. Would have preferred this with regular potatoes instead of sweet potatoes too. The sweet with the meat was just weird. Was looking forward to eating here as their brick and mortar locations are good but the truck was just not up to par. Skip the truck. Check out their actual locations.

The chicken tikka masala was good— the chick peas has the best flavor with the sweeter curry though. Medium amount of food in the burrito bowl, I was satisfied.

Tried the sweet potato fries with Channa masala tonight at El Cerrito off the grid. One bite in and I thought it was too sweet. Three bites in, and the complexity of flavors hit me. This is the kind of food I dream about. Delish!

It’s always nice to find another food truck with gluten free options. The menu was a tad confusing as gluten free items were only marked in the heading, while vegan or vegetarian items were marked next to each item. So I ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala Bowl. It was tasty, however, it was $ 12 for not very much food. The masalas are filling, but it would have been nice to have more rice to accompany everything. Not my favorite place, but a decent option for lunch. The food came out in less than five minutes which more than made up for the wait.

Just ate here for the first time. It was at the SOMA StreatFood Park. Food was amazing. I had the Deconstructed Samosa and the flavors and textures were on point. Super friendly ladies on the truck too. Gonna stop here on my next visit for sure.

Ive written about Curry up Now the restaurant in San Mateo a couple of years ago. I even got a response from the owner which was pretty cool, and I did go back to the restaurant and gave it another try. However this was my first time eating at the food truck in SF. I struggled to find anything remotely healthy on their menu, and gave up and decided to get the Paneer Tikka Bowl. Came back home and opened the container to find a royal mess – paneer in a heavy oily tomato sauce that was smothered all over some mystery mixture of garbanzo beans and what seemed to be bits of broken rice. Maybe this food is good for people who’ve never had real indian food or «street food» as it claims to be(for the record, no one is serving burritos or burrito bowls on the streets in India). But this was just bad. Ive had the deconstructed samosa before and that was decent. But this bowl concoction was a confusing mess of flavors and grease. I realize this is «food truck» quality and not restaurant quality, but in SF there is a very competitive market for food trucks that serve excellent food. Unfortunately Curry up Now doesnt make that rank. My daughter did enjoy the mango lassi, hence the second star.

CTM burrito can’t go wrong. But be wary it is extremely heavy. its chicken tikka masala with loads of rice wrapped in a tortilla. Of course it tastes awesome and the spiciness is pretty mild. I do like there Sexy fries another unhealthy option, which is chicken tikka masala on top of sweet potato fries, which also tastes pretty great. I don’t tend to go here that often thou, but i do when i am extremely hungry and not gonna eat another meal in the day. i recommend you try and then decide for yourself.

Lucky enough to have the Curry Up Now Food Truck on site at BottleRock this year, I’m embarrassed to admit this was my 1st venture into Food Truck Mania But boy what I have been missing! Mr got the Hella Vegan Burrito & I chose the PTM(Paneer Tikka Masala) Burrito. Super heavy burritos meant lots of fillings & these were tasty w/an awesome distribution of fillings(chickpeas, rice, paneer, etc…) & the wrap was soft & chewy. We’re talking burrito perfection! Also split an order of Hella Vegan Sexy Fries — sweet potato waffle fries all doused in the chana-masala-like chickpeas & chutneys… I can only imagine how phenomenal the other flavors will taste b/c this one was a true winner! The heat level for us was Medium — mainly b/c we forgot to ask for it hot but so glad we didn’t. This had just the right amount of spicy kick /nose-running qualities & even before we finished up our offerings, we were craving for more! Will be seeking yall out again real soon!!!

I LOVELOVELOVE their burritos, and tonight I got the Hella Vegan just cuz the trucks are on my way home from work, and well, YUM. But I gotta say. If you accidentally give my burrito to someone else,(not mad) then your employee has to run a block to chase after that person and then bring it back(without the bag, just the foil) and then hand it to me, well, I don’t think I am too much in the wrong asking them to make me a new one. I mean… if I was at a restaurant, and my food was placed in front of someone else, and they realized it wasn’t theirs, I would be turned off if they grabbed that same plate, and put it in front of me. I’d assume the same rules apply, no? I didn’t have to fight anyone, but I did have to argue for a second with the girl at the window for them to make new one. Besides that, the burrito was amazing. 4 and a half stars if it wasn’t for that.

The paneer deconstructed samosa is my go to dish. I like their system, small number of unique dishes, the lines moves fast and you can order online and pick up at the stated time with no wait. Works for me.

I am a big fan of the burrito form factor. Nothing else comes close when you’re talking about mobile eating. Curry Up Now exemplifies the«wrap stuff up in a tortilla» ethos, and I like it. I usually go with the CTM or the P.I.G. burritos. They’re both insanely good– extremely flavorful w/great texture. I especially like the crunch that the P.I.G. has to it. I go for extra spice, but be careful– it’s surprisingly easy to overshoot and get a burrito that tastes like fire. Another warning– these sit in your stomach like bags of rocks. Or maybe burritos of rocks. Or something equivalently heavy and unpleasant to have in your stomach… bottom line is they’re on the big side. I don’t think these things keep well, so you pretty much have to eat it all at once.

I’ve eaten at this truck on several occasions. I have had the samosas, burritos, fries and mango lassi. Today, I ordered my usual, the Chicken Tiikka Masala burrito and mango lassi. I love it because it is so flavorful and it’s a pretty hefty meal. It’s spice has a real kick to it. That’s why I order the mango lassi to quell the spice storm. But the flavors work so well together. I love the CTM!

All I can say is Chicken Tikki Masala on top of chopped onions, cheese and criss-cut sweet potato french fries? YESPLEASE! The cheese could be a little misleading as I would’ve preferred mine without. This is not a chilli-cheese frie dish, but the chicken adds complexity. The flavors were apparent and the dish was delicious. Please stop by my work again so that I can try another… or maybe just stick with the fries :)

On a whim I saw Off The Grid, and stopped over to see which delicious food trucks were there. I settled on Curry Up Now, which I’d seen parked in the FiDi for months, but never managed to order here. I was pleasantly surprised by the innovative menu — it featured Indian burritos, deconstructed samosas, and sexy fries. I settled on the fries — sweet potato waffle fries topped with veggie masala and cheese. It was a wonderfully odd combination. Next time I’ll definitely try a burrito or samosa. And another thought — I’d almost always rather eat at a food truck than a real restaurant. They’re just full of amazing, interesting gourmet food.

Indian Street Food out of a truck. They deliver. They have a Brick & Mortar spot in San Mateo. They have an app you can order/pay as well as online so all you have to do is get in the pick up window line. They’ve got it locked. Recommend: Chicken Tikka Masala Burrito(#53 on 7×7’s 2012 Big Eat list)

I’ve had their Tikka Masala burrito’s a couple of times before at the SF Food Cart Festival’s in the past and really love the easy delicious concept of on the go indian. So when I walked out of the Gift Center with my friend the other day«starved», thinking where now for a bite… and there right in front of us was«Curry Up Now». Woo Hoo I was über happy! I told my bud how delicious and fresh they were and that we could share and it be perfect since we were in a hurry. She loved it, duh… We grabbed our giant burrito(sliced in half) and crossed the street and pulled up a brick planter to park ourselves to gobble down the spicy delight. Yes, a half did me perfect since I’m watching my girlish figure these days. This is definitely a stellar idea. I’d love some of these trucks in the East Bay.
