David Gordon Piano Tuning

I am a Director for a music school and David Gordon tunes all our pianos. I have also recommended him to parents who have inquired about a piano tuner. David is very professional and does a very thorough job and charges reasonably.

The store where I bought the piano gave me 2 free tuning with David Gordon. When it is free, there might be a catch. It usually takes a long time (2 days) for David to return phone calls, let alone picking your calls. Also it takes a long time to set up appointments — more than 2 weeks away. Oh boy, does he have a huge ego. Recently I was given the option of picking my own piano technician due to some other issues with the store, I had to ask David a few questions to make sure picking him as the technician was the right decision. After no more than 5 minutes on the phone with him, David started telling me that his time was very valuable and he should start charging me money for talking to him on the phone for that 10 minutes. When asked about future tuning price and discounts, he was very offended. He said people usually pay him $ 40 more than what he asked for and that I do not value his time if I asked about discounts. He reminds me of someone who may have psychiatric issues. I would not want to be home alone with him tuning my piano.
