Dennis Nix

Dennis has been my financial advisor for about 5 years now. Prior to working with Dennis, I handled my own investments. I did OK but made some stupid mistakes. Dennis got me on the right path and my IRAs are looking pretty good now.
Although Dennis appears in the «insurance» Unilocal category, he is a Certified Financial Planner. Sometimes this does involve looking at insurance. For example, I had a good life insurance plan through my work. Dennis got me a better plan (I can hold onto it if I lose my job, and I can keep it until age 75 instead of 65). On top of that, it was less expensive and with a better company than what my employer offered.
Dennis is good at thinking outside of the box. The best example of this that I can think of is when we were discussing a good investment strategy for the period between now and when I retire. I was wanting to trend conservative, which is the normal path for someone my age. But Dennis said I would be better off not to, since I had a partner that would be working well after I retired. I never would have thought of that on my own and this strategy could net me thousands over the years between now and retirement.
I highly recommend Dennis as a financial adviser — he’s extremely knowledgable and thorough. I’m extremely comfortable working with him.

I’ve talked with Dennis many times in the last few years about various aspects of my financial, estate and retirement planning. (Being self-​employed, there are many options one needs to consider.) I’ve also purchased at least one investment product from Dennis. I’ve always found Dennis to be incredibly helpful and knowledgable. (He also doesn’t hesitate to bring in additional expertise from Mass Mutual when appropriate — which adds to the value he brings to the table.) I trust him absolutely, and I recommend him strongly for anything dealing with financial planning, retirement, taxation, investments or insurance. (BTW, his affiliation with Mass Mutual is a big plus, IMHO. Not only do they have good people, but as the name indicates, they’re a MUTUAL insurance company — i.e. owned by policyholders, not stockholders. That makes them much more sane and safe, IMHO!)

I called Dennis Nix when I had my first baby to make sure I had the appropriate life insurance and disability insurance policies in place for me and my partner and that our finances were in order. He is FANTASTIC to work with. We ended up with complete piece of mind, knowing that in the event of disaster we have our children covered. He is also managing our business IRAs, because we trust him like family. He is knowledgeable, easy to talk to and incredibly honest… all great qualities for someone who is handling your money. I am also an estate planning attorney and I personally refer many clients to him, because I trust him and his work. On top of everything else that is wonderful about him, Mass Mutual in general is an excellent company, in my opinion, so you can trust the insurance you buy.
