I came here with my sister and friends for Sunday brunch. This café is decorated from local artists and table settings were bright and colorful. I had a coffee and the lobster Benedict. They serve Illy coffee and they served a big lobster piece. The English muffin was cut quite thin. So, the ones on a diet, you don’t have to worry. Lol. By the way, on the menu, it also offers high tea too!

The caramel sea salt waffle was great. I normally don’t like chocolate, but I found the chocolate wasn’t overwhelming, and you could definitely taste the caramel. The ingredients tasted higher quality, and the fresh fruit was great. The portions were perfectly sized for one person. Service was great. It’s a good place for your morning espresso and breakfast.

Very understaffed so service was very slow. They have the best tiramisu I’ve ever had(and most exensive) so I would def come back for that. Gelato was good too.

Waiter refused to give our 4-person+baby party a 5-person table. There was only one other party in the restaurant. We had our 3-month old baby with us, but he insisted the only table we could sit at, was the one right in front of the door… on a cold-a** day. Boom, minus one star. We ordered our drinks. The waitress that took our table returned, only to inform us that the chef was slammed with the orders placed by the only other party in the house, so she’d have to go to the kitchen to help him. We’d have to wait to place our order. Um, ok. Odd, since the waiter that had seated us wasn’t doing jack. I take that back, he was arranging silverware at the counter seats… which no one was seated at. Weird. We got our food, and it was great. Such a shame, since their service needs work. Step up your game, Dolce. Too many spots in the city to deal with poor service. Won’t be back.

If you are going to use a Groupon deal for the afternoon tea service, they are going to cut a portion of your food and tea to make up the discount that they honor. I had this unpleasant experience when I used my Groupon to get the 15% off for the afternoon tea service for two. I ordered the afternoon tea service for two, not for one; so it should have come with two pot of tea according to the menu, but we only received one small pot which size about 15oz of tea to share. How can two people share a 15oz pot of tea, each person only drank 1.5 cup of tea maximum, then needed to refill hot water, after two around of hot water refill and the tea had no taste at all; they won’t refill tea leaves for you. For some of the desserts, they served only quantity of one instead of quantity of two which made us felt like being ripped off. If they have served one large pot of tea for us to share, it will be still acceptable for us, but they only served one little pot which made us really difficult to finish and enjoy our afternoon tea since there were too much sweet than savory items on the tower. The only savory item was the sandwiches. The food were not impressive at all. We didn’t finish our afternoon tea and had a lot of leftover on the sweets to take home because we didn’t have enough tea to enjoy with the pastries. There is no reason that I should order afternoon tea for two instead of for one because no matter if you order afternoon tea for one or for two, they still serve you one small pot(only 15oz) of tea. I should have ordered only afternoon tea for one and ordered a second pot of tea and extra pastries on the side; it will end up paying less and left more satisfied. I still left a 15% tip for the servers because I felt like they did their job and the service was fair, but not the quality of the food and the amount of tea that they served. We were really disappointed about the owner’s dishonest practice since the afternoon tea price of $ 45 per person is really high, higher than any other afternoon tea place’s I had been to in my life; therefore, it should be a high end and high quality afternoon tea service; but it was totally not the case. I will not be back again which is sad because I love going for afternoon tea and I travel the Bay Area a lot to many different tea places to try the afternoon tea. I definitely know what a afternoon tea should be like.

Their breakfast made our whole morning perfect! I’ve never been for breakfast before this time and it has the same fresh quality as their desserts. The fresh orange juice was amazing, the drip coffee I ordered wasn’t bitter(which I usually find with drip coffee), and the servers were very friendly and attentive as well. I would recommend !

Updated review: apparently this review pissed the owner off. But it’s not about expensive, is about your food quality doesn’t match the price. If I think it’s too expensive when I looked saw the menu I’ll just walked away, but I didn’t think the price was a problem, it’s your food quality. In addition, I gave 20% tips because the Asian girl who served me was very nice. I’ve tried different restaurants with $ 20 – 50 range breakfast/lunch around this area, I happy for what I paid for for most restaurants, but sadly this isn’t the one. I understand the store rental in this area is expensive so the food is a bit pricey, but that’s not an excuse for the food quality. As I tasted it, I paid for it, I don’t get why don’t owner said I shouldn’t post bad reviews because I dislike the food, I thought that’s what Unilocal is for, funny. I’m surprise about all of the 5-star reviews here… came in for a breakfast this morning, order their signature waffle, the dish just was waaaaay overpriced. Good food presentation, but one waffle topped with several fruits isn’t worth $ 18, plus the taste was just okay, I find the waffle was too wet. A $ 5 matcha chai latte with a cup that is a little bigger than an espresso shot. if you want a breakfast that’s within $ 20-$ 30 for one single dish, I’m sure you can find a lot better local spots. Definitely not worth to be back.

I really liked this place! I got a Groupon when I tried it. The ice cream is REALLY creamy and flavorful. The chocolate was really high end, nice to buy as a gift for someone. They also served lunch/brunch, but I didn’t try anything on that menu. The atmosphere and décor were really cute, and the tables were all filled. I will definitely come here again even without a Groupon.

Many reasons why I love this place. 1) local spot 2) very artsy design and if you’re left handed, you would appreciate how beautiful this café is interior wise. Every table has its own design, art work, and jewelries. So freakin artsy, I love it! And 3) yummy food! My favorite: Caramel Sea Salt Waffle– awesome presentation, waffle so fluffy, and everything was just perfect. Everything about this waffle is nummy! Valrhona Hazelnut Hot Chocolate– I love hot chocolate and hazelnuts. Enough said: p Overall, I will definitely recommend this place. I love all of the artworks and delicious food! I would come back again to try their soufflé pancakes!

What a cute, swanky and funky little café. I feel like I am in a café somewhere in Paris with these strange and cute nick back and décor. Very quite and fun yet classy atmosphere! The most important thing is the food is amazing! I only had tiramisu and my friend had some kind of chocolate cake and we both had jasmine tea, they are delicious! The tiramisu was made well and it was not too sweet like most of tiramisu are and the chocolate cake was delicious too! Bill came to about $ 15 so it is reasonable! I love this café!!!

Came here with my best friend on a Saturday morning. Not so busy!(Sunday is totally a different story!!) order the perfect scrambles with smoked salmon and crêpe omelet. The scramble was extremely fluffy! Enjoyed every bite on top of the bagel toast! Salmon + dill + jam was superb, good balance of flavor. Just the playing was not very good, I guess it’s hard to plate bagel comparing to sourdough toast!;) Crêpe omelet was way beyond savory crêpe. The creamy filling was well seasoned, sauteed veggie toppings were yum and decorative. This is perfecto! Waitresses were attentive. The places started to get crowded around 12:00. Will recommend to friends!:-)

This is more a 4.5 star review. Strawberry Vanilla Tea Latte. Light, creamy, and smooth. This barista knew how to make a latte! I appreciate when froth isn’t a bubbly mess. Sweet, sweet perfection. Best latte I’ve ever had. Wanted so badly to take another one home but I was already deep into a food coma at the end of my meal. We had the baked eggs benedict and the soufflé pancakes. The eggs benedicts dish was average; it wasn’t anything special and there was way too much cheese. The soufflé pancakes were on a whole ‘nother level. Fluffy pancakes, light lavender maple syrup, fresh berries that embellished the plate but didn’t make it soggy. it was bliss. And the presentation… seriously was too pretty to eat, but of course I say that for 5 seconds and then dig in. I could eat this every morning and be completely happy. I came here on a Friday around 11AM, and the place was empty. Though, I hear often that you should definitely make a reservation. Bright, fun décor. Tables are glass cases containing local jewelry for purchase! Super cute!

1÷24÷15: This would be the fanciest breakfast/brunch food I’ve ever had at a café, I’d have to say. Everything looks totally beautiful, some spectacularly plated… 1. Valrhona Hot Chocolate $ 5.75: The menu says one can choose between Silky Dark or Hazelnut, but I forgot what I picked if I did. But the hot chocolate is completely decadent. And it’s not like downing a «drinking chocolate» either – tastes very much like an ultra-rich hot chocolate. My personal taste is for a little flair though, like(scared to say…)… with marshmallows(don’t kill me!), or whipped cream or something. But anyway, clearly the aim here was just to make a perfect hot chocolate which I think was accomplished. Still wish there was something extra though. 8⁄10. 2. Dungeness Crab Chowder?(Soup of the Day) $ 10.00: Sorry, I’d have to say this one was a «miss.» Though they supposedly used fresh crab, it was kinda hard or overcooked and didn’t taste that fresh to me, that is, of the one piece that I could find, the claw. I couldn’t find much of a trace of any other pieces in there. The soup itself tasted good, but just didn’t taste like crab or anything identifiable. 4⁄10. 3. Baked Eggs Benedict $ 16.00: Damn, prettiest eggs benedict to have ever been in my face!(Check out my pics!) I’ve never had them like this either where the eggs are sorta cooked into bread shells. So, aesthetically is a 10+, but… unfortunately it doesn’t taste as good as it looks. The bread shells we actually a little mushy on the bottom, or perhaps were not cooked fully. The eggs and shells were also under-seasoned. The whole thing is kinda plain actually. Anyway, I think for eggs benedict fans this would be a must-try, but don’t expect the taste to blow your mind. 7⁄10. 4. Signature French Toast $ 21.00: Yup, I’d sign this. Damn. Never seen a French toast like this. Tower of art. And it tastes so perfect. They used croissants instead of standard bread, and that by itself makes it so good! Hell, such a easy change, dunno why more places aren’t doing it like that. I gotta try that at home! Anyway, the buttery, flaky texture of the croissant tastes so good with their batter. The sauce was totally perfect, with the whole thing tasting perfectly balanced of sweetness and savoryness. Perfect. Best French toast I have ever had. 10⁄10. One thing to be noted: I dunno if he was the owner, chef, or whatever, but whoever he was was extremely sociable and nice to us. Seemed genuinely interested in our experience and was really nice. Anyway, cool dude and very nice service. 4⁄5. Hopefully will get to come back and try the pancakes or waffles, or some of the awesomeness in the display cases – if those are anywhere as good as the French toast, I’d have to up it to 5⁄5. #American #breakfast #brunch #frenchtoast #dessert

Service: 2.5 stars Food: 4 stars My mom and I stopped by this place for a quick brunch on a sunday afternoon. The place was already filled and the staff looked flustered. We sat down at the bar area with a couple menus and was ready to order within a couple minutes. However, we were not acknowledged after sitting for awhile. A waiter approached us warning us that they are short staffed and swamped with orders but we decided to stay anyways. After a while longer we were able to order and receive our food quickly. I ordered the sea salt waffle and it was delicious. I usually do not like caramel but their caramel sauce was so good. Overall, expect to wait a long time when the place is busy. The food however is worth the wait. I will definitely recommend for those who are patient.

OMG!!! What an awesome find. Upon being denied a table at Red Door for being a party of 5 we found ourselves hungry and reservationless. I turned to Unilocal to find the nearest café and to our luck we stumbled across Dolce Amore. I called and they said we would be able to be seated immediately. Upon entering, the waiter greeted us with a smile and pointed us to the table he had prepared for us during our walk over. Such a cute place!!! Ambiance was spot on a cute trendy café in Italy. Very clean and beautiful place settings. Menu was awesome. I had the lavender tea latte, mango mimosa, omelette crêpe, waffle, and dungeness eggs Benedict. All dishes came out looking like they came straight out of a culinary magazine. Beautiful presentation. Full tasted amazing. I can’t say enough great things about this place. I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing my family. Awesome establishment. I’m from San Jose. I wish I had this closer to home. I’d be here at least once a week.

Such a cute little European Bakery! I came here with Tram as I had deal for their Chocolates. LocalGruv, I think it was and was delighted at the stunning displays of both Pastries and Chocolates. The deal I had was for $ 20 and at $ 2.50 a piece I selected 8 to go. I really wanted the White Chocolate Raspberry that was displayed but sadly had ran out. I really dislike it when places tease you by having something on display when they don’t actually have it to sell to you. That aside the service was attentive and the seating is very charming and clean. My Husband and I shared the Chocolates the following day and where a few were enjoyable there were also a couple that were not so. Being that we’re from Europe ourselves we have discerning taste when it comes to Chocolate and just felt that they didn’t have that creamy texture we were both yearning for. Prices are on the expensive side too. Just short of $ 8 for a slice of Princess Cake, $ 16 for a Breakfast Waffle, $ 18 for Pancakes. Sheesh. That said, If I am passing by I am likely to stop by again and pick up a Macaron or 2.
