Love Dolma — they have a great array of stuff here. I always walk out with the best tops and earrings from here. Whenever I go to SF, I have to stop here. I’ve gotten some beautiful scarfs here also. I once got a small Buddha statue. The service is ok. I’ve had some really friendly people and I’ve had some not so friendly.

Five plus stars for the merchandise, I purchased close to$ 200 worth of stuff. Zero stars for the service which is bordering on rude, disinterested and simply obtuse. Get someone with a little personality for godsake — the service should be representative of the merchandise — fresh, fun, exciting and with a purpose! Even asking the lady who worked there direct questions that require little effort it was as if she has been letting blood all day and simply had no iron in which to give her a little energy.

Smell like nag champa, amazing prices on jewelry, beautiful hand crafted scarfs, earrings, blankets, gorgeous furniture. A horrible Idea to go buzzed because money WILL be spent.

I purchased a beautiful scarf for a friend here. I’m happy with the scarf, but not with the process I went through to acquire it. When I selected it, the scarf was sitting neatly in a pile of similar scarves, marked $ 14. When I went to purchase it, I was told it belonged in a different pile and in fact cost $ 19. I was okay with this sudden cost increase because all of the products at Dolma are very nice(the scarf is really soft) and many are produced in India by folks with limited access to resources. I discovered, though, as I checked my statement later that evening that I didn’t just pay $ 19: my VISA was charged twice. This experience irritated me. Ultimately, though, I do appreciate Dolma’s wide array of quality merchandise, its location, and what it does for the producers of its goods– and I don’t know of any comparable place I could possibly have come across this scarf.

This place has SO many great accessories. They have everything from bangles to earrings to an incredibly vast assortment of scarves. They are reasonably priced and what I love most is that their stuff is unique. If you like funky accessories, check this place out. Trust me, you will not be disappointed!

This place fails on a basic principal of a good shop… service is terrible and they don’t stand behind their merchandise. I recently purchased a small item here. Unfortunately, the product broke a couple days after I purchased it. I went back to ask if I could exchange the item for another. The shopkeeper was evasive and unhelpful. She claimed she didn’t know the store policy about returns(even though she was the only person in the shop the day after Christmas!), and I would need to return on Tuesday to talk to the store manager. Since I don’t live in the Castro and have to be at work during the week, I asked her to make the exchange or call the store manager to find out about the exchange policy. After all, this was just a $ 12 item. She refused telling me it was the store manager’s day off. Apparently, it was fine to inconvenience me by making me return two days later but quite another to inconvenience the store manager! In any event, it was clear this was just her way of blowing me off. They probably figure most people won’t be persistent enough come back. Just a warning to the cautious shopper… DON’T SHOPHERE unless you are fine with the store not standing by its products and then giving you the runaround should something go wrong.

For handcrafted items and fold art from the Himalayan areas, this is a great place to browse. They have a nice selection from Tibet, Nepal, refugee camps in India, and few things from Thailand. There are bargains to be had in jewelry and clothing, accesories and home decoration. I discovered this shop just before Christmas and bought some lovely shopping bags for gifts, went back and bought more. I also bought some hand-knitted wool gloves of an unusual design which allow you to expose the finger tips for typing or other tasks without removing the gloves. I got a lot of use out of them during our cold spell. The sales people were friendly and helpful. I had a Tibetan family stay with me for awhile and learned a lot about the history and culture from them. These products help to support the refugees who are still in camps in a strange land and who cannot go home. Every little bit helps.

How can you not love this place. Smells good like incense and takes you on a little journey of India Nepal and Tibet. Do you need it? probably not. Who cares?! A little«bling» ring goes a long way to lift the spirits. Alternative clothing, scarves, knitted booties etc. This is a pretty big shop full of all the usual stuff but I like it.

I stopped in here to kill some time and they had a lot of nice things. Some very cool zip-up’s and shirts. The rings were for bigger fingers than mine which was a bummer but they had a big selection of things and quite nice too.

i adore alluring, foreign adornments for my neck, wrists, fingers and ears and this place sure delivers. their assortment of lovely and captivating bracelets certainly tickled my fancy that i got myself this 1 ½″ inches wide green yak bone bracelet. it was a lovely piece. not satisfied with just one, i tried some more armlets in different colors and sizes. i had so much fun doing this that another purchased was made. i got this glittery, yet simple bracelet which i could wear at parties and special occasions. rings in sterling silver with beautiful stones was also slipped on my 5 ½ sized ring/middle finger, but decided not to purchase one… not just yet. pendant, hoop and stud earrings are also enticing to be had, especially with a very cheap price. toe rings are also for sale here and their selections of beautiful necklaces should not be missed to try or to buy. appealing furnitures, scarves, tunics, leather sandals, wool booties, rugs and so much more are all over this store. items are all neatly organized, so it’s a stress/headache-free shopping here. customer service was very helpful and friendly, making your hunting for great himalayan/tibetan goodies will be a sure fun!
