Average food, but they sell booze. If you’re looking to get a basic meal done, try it. Employees are helpful, but not over the top happy to be there.

The Mis-tro combo was really good! The sides(mac & cheese, the vegetables, and the lime rice) were all very tasty. The chicken was good flavoring wise, but a little on the dry side. Definitely enough food for 2 guys!

I got Mediterranean wrap. I did not like it so much but this is my personal opinion. The interior was nice. Service could be better.

Seems like a pretty popular place for breakfast/brunch. There are a ton of people inside and out on weekends. After reading some good reviews about their rotisserie chicken, I decided to give this place a try. We got the Mis-tro which came with a full chicken, macaroni & cheese, swiss chard, and lime rice. I have to say that this place was overrated and then some… The chicken was extremely dry and lacked flavor. The macaroni & cheese and lime rice were pretty bland and OK. I don’t even like vegetables and I have to say that the swiss chard was probably the best dish, but still wasn’t all that great.

My dining guest and I split the rotisserie chicken for about 20 bucks. It comes with three sides. We had the mashed potatoes, broccoli(best thing) and the chard(worst thing, very garlicky, and I like garlic) I thought it was good, but that the chicken could have used a bit more seasoning and flavor. The people were friendly and accommodating. Location is good, just a short ways off the bart stop, however, it is lacking ambiance. I would not go on a date here. I would more consider it a good local staple with healthy options and perhaps a good pick up place. I would go back. I have had breakfast here too, which was pretty decent.

Chicken tasted like it was sitting out for a few days. U can get the same kind if chicken at Luckys or Safeway. Maybe I came on a bad day. Whatever it was I will not be returning. Swiss and chard was really good though. Lentil n chorizo soup was extremely greasy.

We stopped by for a short/late lunch after a gathering in Dolores Park. The hubby had the chicken melt and I tried a side of their ratatouille. The ratatouille was just roasted veggies, I have no idea why they decided to put a fancy french name on the dish, because it’s NOT ratatouille. It wasn’t bad, but definitely did not have the complex/layered flavors of the french dish. The chicken sandwich was amazing, though. I tried a bite of the sammy and was immediately remorseful that I didn’t go for a real lunch. The chicken is their rotisserie chicken(I believe) and I tasted hints of tarragon(yum!!) and the roasted red onions and the melted cheddar. man oh man, what a delight! The next time I go back to the area, I’ll grab me a sandwich along with some goodies from Tartine :).

Quality fresh food. Kind service. Skip the mac n’ cheese & cooked greens. Go for the entrée salads & wraps or chicken. Good vegan fare.

On a rainy Easter, my friend and I stopped here for a quick snack. I ordered the oatcake and my friend, the hummus plate. The cashier informed me that the oatcake was healthy, so I decided it was for me. I really enjoyed the oatcake. It was a nice wedge of oats and dried fruit. Portion size would be 2 servings. The hummus that my friend had a sour taste. The cooks added to much lemon. I’ll gladly stop by here again for the oatcake, unless someone else gets to it first.

I can’t believe I’ve lived right up the street from this place for 5 years and have just been to Due Drop In for the first time. The rotisserie chicken had some sort of magic rub on it — super duper delicious. Paired with the mac & cheese, lime rice and swiss chard as sides = I couldn’t be happier with my dinner tonight AND the price tag for it all. I’ll be back… and probably a lot.

4 stars for the chicken thighs. 3 stars for the chicken breast… Fattoush salad was good as a side along with some garlic mashed potato. But really, do yourself a favor and don’t order the white meat. It was too dry. Price was very reasonable and I do enjoy the spacious interior. Great place for casual dining.

My boyfriend and I split a rotisserie chicken dinner for $ 20. It included a full chicken(that was DELICIOUS) and two sides. The ratatouille veggies were good(eggplant not overcooked) and the chard was yummy(I was just pumped to see chard on a menu :-P). Cannot wait for my next post-Dolores-Park meal.

There is nothing better than having a meal that tastes like what you grew up with. Due Drop In is that lovely blend of homey, healthy and flavorful. Not fancy gourmet or trendy food of the month, but good quality comfort food. Located on the corner of 17th and Church it is a light filled cozy space. 20’s/30’s jazz plays at a volume that allows you to have a conversation without screaming. What a rarity. Tables are well spaced, allowing you some breathing room. Lunch consisted of a half chicken with two sides and the pear /goat cheese salad. The chicken was super flavorful, although I would say slightly over done. The cucumber yogurt salad was fantastic(generous portions on the sides) and the mac n cheese was the weakest link in the trio. The pear/mix green salad was perfectly dressed and delicious to the last bite. Portions are generous but not ridiculous. The chicken and the salad we perfect for the two of us. I am so glad I finally tried Due Drop. it is nice to have an alternate location to have a lovely lunch in the Castro area. Things to know: — they have a driveway you can pull into to pick up a to go order, which is fabulous since parking can be difficult. — macs seem to be the preferred laptop :) –the coffee is good-not great –the peach iced tea is awesome

WINNER, WINNERCHICKENDINNA!!! My over-the-top frugal Chinese mom would KILLLLMEEE if she found out I spent more than $ 5 for a rotisserie chicken(Yes, she will run over people with her cart and cut, I mean stand in line for 30+ minutes just for that $ 5 chicken). Hell, if she knew how much I spent a month on food she would ship my ass to Susy Orman’s Young, Fabulous, and Broke bootcamp. SO, SHHHHH!!! Having a recent disappointing experience at my Goood Frickin’ Chicken(my rotisserie chicken stand-by), I was left looking for a new alternative. Enter a Castro gem, Due Drop In. Though they have a full menu to include all day breakfast, salads, soups, wraps and sandwiches, their free-range, 24 hour brined rotisserie chicken is their specialty. After gymming it last Saturday, I came by Due Drop In for a post-work out lunch. I ordered the Half-Rotisserie Chicken w/One Side(Red & Green Swiss Chard) After peeling off the herbaceous slightly blistered chicken skin, I was left with a glistening breast, leg, and thigh. The 24-hour brining process(hydrates the cells of the muscle tissue before cooking) made every part of the well-seasoned chicken mouth-watering and succulently tender. Even more finger licking good than Colonel Sanders’ without any of the guilt. As a carniwhore, learning to eat more veggies can be tough especially one that has a stronger flavor like swiss chard. Seasoned and tossed with olive oil, garlic, nuts and raisins, the swiss chard was surprisingly addictive. The crunchiness of the nuts and the bursts of sweetness from the raisins is what really made this veggie side dish shine. Leaving $ 12.50 broker… HI, MOM! *hides in corner* OTHERNOTES: *Part of adjacent Morning Due Café *Free WiFi *Weekend Happy Hour specials(5PM — 9:30PM) — $ 3 drafts and $ 15 pitchers *Indoor and outdoor seating for about ~45 people *Parking is a biatchhhh so you better pray to the parking Gods.

The chicken’s fabulous and the prices are quite reasonable. I love their various menu selections – they’re all delicious and healthy enough that I can eat here without busting my diet. As important as the food, at least as far as I’m concerned, are the folks who own the place and work there. They are friendly. They’re patient. They’re kind. These are the folks I want to give my money to, and the fact that the food rocks makes it a slam dunk. P. S. Even if you’re not in the ‘hood, they’re right on the J Church line and close enough to Dolores Park that you can pick up your vittles and picnic at the DP.

Me=hardcore carnivore, exclusively for chicken! This is only a few blocks away from where I spend my Friday nights, only I’m not allowed to bring food, so I come here for lunch. The first time I came here, I ordered the Due Special, which is the half chicken meal with any side(I got ratatouille), fattoush salad, bread, and a drink(wine, beer, or soda). I was pretty indecisive about everything, and Nizar told me that if I wanted wine or beer, I had to drink it there. I asked if I could substitute my drink in for water, and he gladly said yes. They have three brands of non-carbonated water(Crystal Geyser, Fiji, and something else), and since I asked if I could get a bottle of Fiji. He told me that they normally wouldn’t allow that, but he made an exception!(: Just so you know, my body is sensitive to bad quality stuff, so I treat it to the best stuff when I can! The chicken was soooo soft, and I couldn’t really find any fat, so I went ahead and ate the skin to make up for it. Normally, I’d have to drink a ton of water to dilute the sodium out, but amazingly enough, the chicken had a pleasant flavor and didn’t require me to drink bottles of water! The ratatouille was also delicious, and I dipped my bread into the broth(?). The salad tasted the way it should, healthy, with pieces of pita croutons. I came a second time and got the Mis-tro(whole chicken, three big sides, two pieces of bread, and two drinks), just for myself. I got the two sides I had gotten before, along with the lime rice. There were different workers, and they weren’t up for giving me a Fiji, so I got the Crystal Geyser. I was able to eat all the sides, but I couldn’t finish the chicken. Though I wanted to eat more, my stomach could only take so much. When I found my chicken stuffed with an onion and a lemon, my friend commented on how professional that was. I must come back and try the mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli and cheese soup! Also, if anyone was wondering, the wait time really isn’t long. It seemed like less than ten minutes to me.

While Due Drop In is intended for take-out, there are a few tables inside, so we decided to eat in. We’d never visited their sister restaurant, Morning Due Café, which has the exact same menu and is around the corner, most likely connected through the kitchen. The man behind the counter [who may or may not be the owner] was friendly and welcoming. We ordered one of the Neighborhood Deals — the Mis-tro: one whole chicken, three sides [hummus, cucumber + yogurt salad, garlic mashed potatoes], two dinner rolls + butter, two sodas. That was plenty for two and probably could have fed another one and a half persons. The rotisserie chicken was juicy and delicious! It beats the rotisserie chicken at Goood Frickin’ Chicken, but still isn’t comparable to their open flame chicken. I’d definitely stop in again for some good rotisserie, but I might check out the sister restaurant for a little sit-down ambiance.
