I got a great cut here 4 weeks ago. Today the older gentlemen helped me and just completely ignored everything I said and cut my hair like I was in the army. I can do that myself as anyone can with some clippers. I told him in the middle of the cut«leave the side burns and indicated with my hand what i was talking about. The guy SHAVEDINTOMYHAIRLINEANDINCREASEDTHESIZEOFMYFOREHEAD… who does that? I have a full head of hair I am 48 years old and gave no indication I wanted to look stupid.

I am torn on this review because the one barber who works the chair closest to the door is excellent. He can give you any kind of fade and seems to understand how to cut most types of hair. As with the other two, the owner it really is a crap shoot. The man and the woman will sometimes cut your hair tolerable and the other time just completely mess your shit up. I have never been so confused going to a barbershop as I am when going here. Most of the time i just walk by and if the first chair isn’t there its not even worth going in for me. Other people may have better luck but proceed at your caution if you want anything outside of a simple shave and cut. They run a lot of business out of here so I don’t even know what else is going on in the back including betting on sports. The cut are so cheap which is why it always will get consideration when i am desperate and don’t want to drop 40 dollars for a haircut. They are located in the deep tenderloin but the area is improving with the police station next door and a new park built just down the street. But seriously though if you can get them at the right time or explain your cut well enough you can’t get a better haircut for less that 15 dollars. But just don’t have something important to do or a picture to take the next day because you could end up on America Funniest home videos. Proceed at your own risk if the first chair is filled. If he is there just wait for him for an hour before going to the others.

The best place for a fade and shave hands down. I have been going to get cut there for years(12) off and on and after trying other so called barbers no one compares to Momma at eddy st barber shop! Come on who else will offer a hot towel treatment ???

Come here only if you want your head shaved or if you want a number 1 or 2. Thats all they can offer. They do not know how to cut hair using scissors, only clippers. The old man in the back, effed up my hair really bad, I told him a lil off the top and the sides faded, he basically shaved my head and didn’t even know how to fade. You get what you pay for!!!

Great prices — $ 12 bucks for a men’s cut. Rarely have to wait. I gave them 4 stars because they don’t speak English very well and I can barely understand them.

Very clean place, professional staff, 2 flat screen tv’s. could do without all the Rap Music, but that’s a Personal taste thing. They also have a Young lady in the back that offers some Chemical Services & Facials. Pricing is Reasonable.

I’ve been going to Eddy’s since 1998. I always get compliments on my haircut, people always want to know where I go. They just do a really good job and for a good price. You can tell the place is popular cause you always have to wait and it’s worth the wait to get a really good haircut!

as good as it gets for a quick line up in san francisco; cheap, efficient, and great quality. $ 12 for a line up and $ 15 for a line up and facial trim/shave. the staff here are extremely nice and friendly, and after a few visits, they’ll remember you. i’ve been going here since i started working in san francisco back in 2009, and i haven’t experience a better place for getting my haircut. if you’re vietnamese, make it known and chat it up with the aunts and uncles! trust me on this one, you’ll get an even cheaper line up: $ 10! preferential treatment, i know, but milkkkkk ittttt when and where you can!

Finally I am catching up with my reviews. I have been coming to Eddy’s Barber for years now and my fades always come out nice and clean. I always go to momma because ever since she has been doing my fade, no one else can match up to her skills. She always make sure I am happy with my cut and also make suggestions when I am feeling adventurous with a new style. The price is amazingly reasonable and I have never had a bad cut from her. Don’t take my word for it, go and try momma out and you will know what I am talking about!

The ONLY good thing about this place is the price. You really can’t beat 10 bucks in any city, but then again you really do get what you pay for… actually, less! The two guys on the right side, mainly the one in the middle chair, are very self-righteous. They don’t listen to what you want and do some real butcher work. Also, they don’t speak English, and whatever English they do know, they don’t bother to try to understand what you want. The one guy all the way to the back on the left side is AWESOME. He listens to exactly what you want and is very respectful. He takes his time too. Unfortunately he only works on certain days and doesn’t have many clients, even though he’s the best one.

Best fades this side of boot camp– these guys(and gal) were born with oster clippers in their hands. Pure antithesis of Super cuts and high end salons… If you want a nostalgic shave and modern fade(ironically in the heart of the ghetto) Eddy’s is your place!

Here’s the deal, if you are a bald guy, really like short, short hair, or need a high-top fade this may be the place for you. Not if you want a normal, modern haircut though. Sadly to say. They just can’t do it. I just went there this afternoon and really my wife almost cried when she saw what they did to me. I couldn’t see what he was doing to me because I wear glasses or I would have stopped him. Two guys working, the guy parroted back to me everything that I said then, totally blew it. Language barrier, style barrier, hair barrier. Save the 10 bucks and cut your own hair, the results will undoubtedly be better. The fact that they do charge 10 bucks is the ONLY reason that they got two stars. Bad, bad, bad. Don’t go here.

This place is a great, cheap haircut and well worth the $ 10. The friendly staff at this place knows there way around a set of clippers. They make sure to hook your hair up right before you leave. And the clients are always up for some good conversations. This is my kinda place…

If you are interested in getting your«lines» done, then this is the place for you, otherwise, I would not recommend it. The women who work here do not understand English, let alone the idea of scissors. I asked for a 3 on the sides and a half inch off the top and instead I got a 3 all around. I seriously looked like I was joining the Marines… Fortunately, my hair grows back to normal in 2 weeks. In regards to women getting a hair cut here, well, that is absolutely ridiculous.

now that was a great haircut. lots o’ locals strolling through getting haircuts. the people cutting hair there work hard and are very nice. the cut is worth way more than the $ 10 they charge. there was a dad with his kid in there and the dad was getting the full treatment, shaved head, some hot towel on the face after the shave and then he said he was gonna bring his little boy back for his back-to-school cut. and the tenderloin police station is right across the street, there’s officers parked in front of the shop and they’re unloading their weapons from the trunks and chit-chatting. when you’re walking there, don’t worry about the people on the street – nobody said one word to me. worth the trip.

You can’t get a better haircut in the city for $ 10 than here. If you fraidy cats are scared of the people here(which you shouldn’t be) you’re right opposite the police station. I don’t know what sort of hair stylist options there are for women or for men who are more particular about their hair, but at least as a fairly straight-forward man, they do a hell of a job on my hair. They are attentive in ways that chain barber shops aren’t, and for only about 2⁄3 of the price. The Vietnamese people who work there work very hard and like I said, they are very professional. They shave all the hair off my neck, make sure the sides(I’m sure there are names for these parts of the hair but I don’t know them) are precisely taken care of… they take great care in doing my sideburns. Anyway, like I said, come rain or come shine, every six weeks or so, I’m gonna be going here, and tipping generously.
