Recently moved to this Area and was tired of the lame and un personal attention I got from nearby Peet’s & Starbuck“s! Originally from Europe, I am used to get my coffee’s and espresso’s the old word style! So I entered Emma’s Coffee House and was extremely pleased not only with the selection of coffee drinks offered the menu was extensive and prepared with care and attention. The owner made sure I was happy with my selection and even went out of her way to make my not so common«ristretto» The Ambiance is relaxing, the music jazzy, and as a later found out she have a very promising wine and beer list! I felt at home right away! Since I live only a couple of Blocs away it is a not difficult to understand, that this place will have my business as long as I live around here… and should I move to a different part of the City I will come back for my Ristretto addiction and my Glass of excellent red or white wine and a great pannini or a signature Croissant with Black Forrest Ham, Cheese& Egg! Great way to start your Day and great way to unwind in the late afternoon!!!

Nice coffee shop with good lighting and window views decent coffee and a nice selection of treats breakfast sandwiches etc. I’m always surprised how empty it is but it lacks a little coziness or hipster factor so maybe that’s it

Simple, no frills coffee shop. Locally owned. Typical coffee offerings as well as pastries, salads, and sandwiches. Beer and wine also available. Plenty of seating at numerous small tables. Lots of light, so great for reading.

Came here for a breakfast a few weeks back and it was underwhelming. I ordered a chai latte and a croissant. The chai was bland and watery, and the croissant wasn’t crispy at all, it tasted like it was more processed and not fresh at all.

Just stopped in for a quick coffee and a cheese Danish. I now have a new favorite joint for both. Coffee is excellent and the Danish was fresh and delicious. My mother was with me and ordered a bagel with cream cheese and avocado, but the employee forgot the avocado. We weren’t charged for it so I guess it’s ok. The café was really plainly decorated but honestly, they get the essentials right. Just be sure to confirm your order to avoid mistakes. Will definitely come back for coffee and Danish.

I only ever come here before or after a trip to the Old World Market up the street– the coffee itself is not a big draw, but I always seem to forget. Service is pretty brusque, coffee is strong, ambiance is fairly nonexistent. Location is cramped and always seems to be uncomfortable, employees always seem to have an attitude problem.

Emma’s is great. The food has a homemade vibe– the baked goods(so far, have tried the macaroon, chocolate cake, and peanut butter bar) taste like what a friend with a knack for desserts would bring to a party(and it would run out fast). The cake is sweet and awesomely chocolately, but not over-indulgent, and goes great with coffee. It’s just really good. I’ve seen the breakfast burritos being made more than once. They’re a perfect size, served hot, and taste homemade yet so much better than I could make. The owner(?) is very nice. She even added jalapeños to a burrito when we mentioned we enjoy spicy food! There’s a couple hot sauces at the coffee bar too. Emma’s is a great way to start your morning. :)

The lady behind the counter was rude, the latte was terrible and she closed at 6 instead of 9 like her hours say. It gets two stars for working wifi! :P

This review isn’t about the coffee or the food but more of what happened in a service level environment where, as a customer, I was shocked at what came out of the employee’s mouth within 30 minutes before closing last Wednesday. I was the only one there and she left to take the trash out. When she comes back, she goes into the back and, I’m assuming, was talking on the phone and cussed up a storm. I’m pretty sure she knew I was still there and still continues her intense conversation. I get that you want to close up early if no one is there, but even though, retelling a story saying«I was like, B***H, you do NOT talk to me this way. Who the F*** do you think you are?» is probably inappropriate. Granted, she was nice and dandy when I was ordering, but no, I didn’t need to hear any of that or to walk out so quickly because of that.

Stopped by in the morning for some coffee and got an egg. Server lady seemed like she was in a bad mood, the egg I got was actually a bit rotten and unedible. No refund was offered. Definitely thumbs down, no wonder this place empty when I walked in.

The coffee taste was below average. The latte had no frothiness of the milk what soever. I sat down at a table and given it was a little wobbly as my foot stood on one side it wobbled and the coffee went everywhere, which had there been just a little thickness/frothiness to my coffee wouldn’t have been anywhere near as bad. If it was on the coffee it’s self I would have given a one, but the Russian lady seemed really lovely, so I gave it a 2. I left the coffee unfinished.

Super friendly. WAY less packed then the local Starbux. Delicious sandwiches, pastries, and coffee drinks. They even have wine and beer. This place is legit.

Easy-to-find, corner joint. Ordered a Dirty Chai Latte: definitely won’t order this drink here ever again. I thought the barista got my drink order wrong: tasted watered down. Could not find any hint of «chai» flavor in my drink. Ask a local what to order here: place seems like it has a strong local following.

I saw a mouse running around and decided not to eat here. It was walking around near the cash register like it owned the place. I will definitely not be back anytime soon. I mentioned it to the person working and she didn’t believe me. I asked for the manager and she said she was the owner-and gave me lots of attitude and said I was lying. Why would I lie about that? It’s a huge health concern! Thanks but I don’t eat in establishments where rats are…

Emma’s has just 10ish small tables and a flatscreen. ambience borders on intimate or cramped depending on one’s disposition. offerings: pannins, ultimate cookies, expresso brew: med, 2 –french roast ultra robust, too edgy, not smooth sipping –good for staying awake.(which it did) drips: –friendly, fast service(just a few patrons present watching socceer).

Mehh. Iced coffee was super watery– all the ice cubes were mostly melted which makes me wonder if all they did was pour hot coffee over a cup of ice. I also saw a sign that said«restroom for customers only» so I asked to use it only to be snapped at by the owner that«they didn’t have one» and«what was I doing back there?!» When I pointed to the sign, she changed her story to the restroom being«out of order.» Alright lady, sure.

Caramelized creation. Turkey is a good start. Add hummus to make it great. Finish with caramelized onions to seal a fourth star. Excellent sandwich for excellent $ 5.75 price. Pairs well with a well balanced and smooth sugar free vanilla Americano. Two shots for two and change. Friendly service, free WiFi and wrap around windows all make for an enjoyable atmosphere. Perfect complement for the equally enjoyable eats.
