They make really cool, artful t-shirts and sell them at a reasonable price. Their collective style is the artistic manifestation of the tone and attitude of the Lower Haight itself. Keep up the good work, guys!

you gotta love the FIFTY24SF gallery. i don’t know a better place to check out local artists while sipping on a cold beer you brought in with you, checking out what’s on the wall, checking out the people walking around you, and just taking it all in. i remember the first time i went to a gallery show… i believe it was an estevan oriol & yone show a while back, a bunch of dudes on choppers cruised through, these chicks in the photographs featured in the gallery were chillin there too(and they were oh so bad!), the smell of pot swam in the air, and all i heard was«clank, clack, clank» all night from the beer bottles rolling down the street. it was crazy… and it totally reminded me how much i love this city!

Design is art. This is a lesson that FIFTY24SF teaches with its works. The shirts are impeccable parts of urban style, with the gallery being physical representation of the movement. Peep the technique.

We came here just to see the David Choe exhibit. We had missed the opening reception but we came out to see the sold out show. EVERY one of his pieces sold! It was such a good exhibiT. It is a gallery worth checking out if you are into lowbrow art, graffiti influenced art… Nothing boring and contemporary. Another note is visit the gallery’s store Upper Playground just a few steps away!

This is a cool little spot in the Lower Haight that is an extension of the Upper Playground stores. They have new artists featured on a regular basis and I have seen a wide variety of things in this gallery. The most memorable exhibit featured a series of skateboards that had been painted with the portraits of fat and dead comedians. Jim Belushi, John Candy, Jackie Gleason, Chris Farley, etc. The gallery itself is very small and no-frills. However, if the showing is impressive, you will not care about any of that. If you don’t find anything you like, walk down to the t-shirt shop. They have plenty of entertaining designs to keep you busy shopping for a minute.

This is a really cool place. It reminds me of Flux Studio/Gallery in Jacksonville. I didn’t get to see all the exhibits because I was waiting for the bus(which was delayed because of the Prop 8 protest march ), but I was lucky enough to have stopped in and take a peek. The art featured is very cool and trendy stuff. The artist whose work I saw is very talented and offbeat. I liked his sculpture of the person whose head became a computer monitor and pillow became a keyboard. I feel like that at work sometimes. I’m sure I speak for the rest of my fellow computer geek buddies. Anyway, I’m sure if more galleries featured art this awesome, then there would be more support for the arts.

This place is the spot to be to get clothing and its authentic Fifty24SF stuff. Im glad I went here instead of finding a little bit of everything at 15 different stores, I can go to the legit spot and they have it all. 5 stars dudes.

cool place, aways attracts great art. there are like 3 levels and when i’ve been, it’s been packed with hipsters that are cooler than i’ll ever be, but i’m good at faking the funk.

The FIFTY24SF gallery is up a few buildings from Upper Playground in the Lower Haight. The work and artists are pretty much what you’d come to expect from FIFTY24SF and Upper Playground, but seeing that type of work on walls instead of shirts is pretty rad. Installations are monthly, and current installations can be viewed here: The place is pretty small, but I’ve never seen it packed. The employees are really cool and helpful. The works are really out of my price range, but once I win the lottery or get that job that pays me a ridiculous amount of money, I am all over this place.
