Fine Line Barbershop

I got a great cut from Drew yesterday. Listened to what I wanted including my request to update my look. He did a great job and the rest of the crew help provide the barbershop/​philosopher’s hangout that most good barbershops are known for. Very welcoming and relaxed place.

These guys are awesome! They don’t just cut and spit you out. They take pride in their work and are true artist. I take my son to cut his hair with Nel and he and the team of barbers are very nice. No matter when I come and no matter whose in the shop we always feel welcomed and my son comes out with a great haircut. If your looking for a chill barber shop come here but make an appointment first cause they can get busy!

Eric is a decent barber but on many occasions he cut my neck a lot with the buzzer and he charges more than most for a medioce haircut. I will be looking for a new barber.

Erik was my barber for today! Erik has been my go to guy for about a year now and every time I come in he always greets me with respect! I enjoy the conversation while getting my haircut, pretty chill staff with a lot of interesting stories to tell. I highly recommend scheduling an appointment to make sure you get the perfect cut on that perfect day!

I ask for only a trim and the last barber cut my hair short. I ask to taper in my bald spot and he left a puff of hair around my bald spot. The prices are not posted and my charge $ 25. Angry. I showed him John Kerry picture and he noted his style and with his mouth, I’ll just trim around the ears and neck and said he’d taper in the top then he did just the opposite.

Had my first cut with Nelden about a month ago. I had scheduled it out about a week in advance. I figure they’re busy and ill be ushered right in at my appointed time.
I arrive the day of and find that Nelden is still in the middle of cutting someone else’s hair (during my scheduled appointment time). I proceed to wait (patiently mind you) for at least another 20 – 30 minutes.
I finally get on the chair and Nelden gets to work. He has a knack for paying attention to detail and he wants to make sure things look right. Another 30 – 45 minutes later I’m off the chair hustling my way to work. +1 for offering to comp 3 dollars off my cut.
Fast forward to today: I tried texting and emailing to coordinate my next appointment. Nelden finally got back to me via text after a day of radio silence. I stated I was trying to get the next possible appointment. There was some back and forth but we’ve yet to schedule a follow up appointment.
Overall i’m bummed out. So much for the convenient walk down the street. Good luck guys!

«Excuse me sir, do you guys have a public restroom I could use?»
«Nah dog, customers only.»
«That’s fine, I’ll buy something if you guys take card.»
«We have this hair gel, it’s $ 20. Cash only.»
«Oh.well thanks anyway. Have a good one.»
That’s how they get down as far as customer service goes. Didn’t get a cut.

I get cut my cuts from Nelly. I have known him since high school and he has come a long way from cutting homies hair at school to becoming a legit barber. He has a passion for what he does and is one funny dude. Detailed and entertaining, what more can you ask for at your local barbershop. The service is top notch. You want something fresh and clean, he is your man to hook it up. Make sure you book an appointment first, even homies got to wait their turn.

Sometimes, a great haircut makes all the difference. I went into Fine Line Barbershop looking rough, and I mean rough. My hair looked a mess, thin because of stress; simply put, I needed hair intervention and Neli did the job! He is a professional, guiding me through the entire process and hooking up my lines and fade like I’ve never seen before. As a woman with short hair it can be a little unnerving to entire the barbershop world, but I am so happy to say I found my barber. I can’t say enough, Neli even offered to clean up my lines before my up and coming interview! I mean it, get your cut here by Neli and you won’t be sorry. Thanks for the great cut and awesome experience, I’ll definitely be back.

Nelly is great. I’ve been going to him for 3 months now and I’ve never been disappointed with his talent.
He takes his time to give you a nice cut. When I am not sure what type of hairstyle I want I just ask him to take care of it and he does. I trust his work and talent.
I brought my friend here yesterday and prior to this he use to get cut at those terrible asian salons. He was a bit on the edge about the price compared to the 10 $ cuts he could get at those salons but I told him to trust Nelly so he did. He got a combover and a bald fade with a hard part. At the end of his cut he didn’t show it but when he walked out of the store he could not stop talking looking at car windows and smiling.
If you are looking to for an affordable cut and a trusted barber I would recommend trying this place out!

Great place. Had to walk-​in & Al was nice enough to take me in. Had chill music & even got to converse about random stuff. Just call ahead of time since they’re pretty booked.

Went here for the first time and was more than satisfied with my hair cut, which is not easy. But this review is for Neli who is a genuine person who takes his profession and art seriously, has patience and will only get better with time. Glad to finally found a barber shop that is quality and affordable, will most likely return.

I’ve been going to Nelden for the past year and never had any complaints. I was coming to him when he only had 1 – 2 clients a day to now where he’s fully booked all the time. I went to a barber who had a shop on the same block as me my whole life, but the transition to consistently come to Nelden has been a very easy one. I trust him with my hair and never once had a problem. He cares about his craft and that’s why I won’t be switching barbers anytime soon.

Made an appointment for myself and for my son’s 1^st haircut with Nelly. Nelly suggested that he cut my son’s hair first and to have him sit on my lap during the haircut. It’s the first time I’d seen it done that way but, figured it couldn’t hurt. Turned out to be best experience ever. My son was calm during the whole haircut, occasionally babbling with Nelly.
And Nelly talked to him back telling my son what he was doing. The whole cut took about 30 minutes, then Nelly surprised me with a certificate for my son’s first haircut with little bags for his hair. How thoughtful and cool is that!?! My son and I will definitely be Nelly on a more regular basis. Thanks Nelly!

I’ve had my hair cut by Neli and Eric and they are both top tier barbers. I’ve gotten the best tapers of my life at Fine Line. Very friendly people, great prices, and their attention to detail keep me coming back for every haircut! I’ll even post a few pictures for evidence.
Make sure to call a few days in advance to make sure you get the appointment you are looking for. You’ll be impressed with how you look after you get your hair cut here!

Heard of Fine Lines through a mutual friend and decided to give it a try. But what a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! I left the barbershop with scars on my neck. Nelden has cut my neck not only in one place but in three other places! That is unacceptable! I do know that people occasionally make mistakes but this seem as he intentionally gave me these scars. The scars are really deep as shown in pics. This has never ever happened to me before until I came Nelden. Think twice before going to Nelden.
P. S. DO NOT GO TO NELDEN! He will cut you up literally! I am scarred for life!

My first ‘real’ haircut. Just got home and need to write up this review while the whole experience is still fresh in my head.
Neldon and I go way back. Back when I used to live in SF, we trained Muay Thai together. Being back in town for the week I stopped by the gym to catch up with the old crew. I mentioned I needed to get my hair trimmed and Nel told me to he would handle it. So after smashing some pads and grabbing dinner, my buddy and I head over to Fine Line. Mind you that was at 10pm!
My first comment was it feels short. To which Nel responded: «No it’s a haircut!» I shut up and let Nel carry out his craft in confidence. He took his time to meticulously give me a bald fade and clean shave. Walking out the door some time later I felt like a new man.
If you’re looking for an awesome barber to set you straight and make you laugh, I highly recommend Nel. It’s a long way to go from London for my regular haircut, but it might just be worth it.

This is my first barber shop and I plan to stick to it as long as Nelden is there. My best bud needed a haircut and I decided to tag along with him. That same day, I decided to get a haircut and it was my first time getting it at a barbershop. This guy knows a lot about hair and as lezzie trying to find someone that knows how to cut SHORT hair is crucial especially when she’s trying to impress her lady. My hair is fine and because of stress from school, I shed more hair than I usually do and my semi-​bald scalp can be seen at an angle I cannot freaking annoyingly see. Nelden mentioned this and I asked him if he can try to guise or fix that annoying spot and surely he made my hair look amazing! So awesome!
Super cool dude! Down-​to-​earth, personable and wants best for his customers. I really wished that I found him before I spend my money on gas and expensive haircuts at supercuts and HK salons.

Heard about Fineline through mutual friends and wanted to try it out.
I came on a Tuesday night where Nel was cutting… although I did have to wait a little bit, it was worth it.
Nel takes his time and caters the haircut according to how you truly like it.
The haircut Nel executed was a shear-​cut; which was done very well.
Being the average joe when it comes to hair — I asked what Nel used to style and hold his and clients’ hair. He recommended Lay-​rite! He stocks and sells lay-​rite for $ 15.00 and I highly recommend it as well. I checked on amazon for lay-​rite and it was around the same price. Great buy.
I highly recommend coming here — a nice «hole-​in-​the-​wall» barber shop.
I will definitely be back for another cut.

Came back here for a second cut. I usually don’t come back so soon for a haircut, it was about 10 days, and I was feeling like my sides were getting long. Called for an appointment at 4:30pm, got an appointment at 5. Nelden was my barber, and he was great. Great service, and friendly. Very talkative, which I like. Usually when I go to a salon, I end up just dozing off because either they didn’t speak english or there was no connection. Nelden listened to what I wanted to do with my hair, and we even chatted about the 49ers game.
Will be coming back here more often for sure!
