Foot Race

Love this place. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Walked in to check it out with no intention of buying and walked out with a pair of shoes i love. Shop owner is personable and great! Shoes were fun colors and different from what i’ve seen elsewhere. Definitely will return.

so I went In on saturday with my girlfriend hoping I could find a really good pair of running shoes since Im planning on getting back Into my jogging and excercise routine.
Susy was really nice and patient while helping me-​with how I walked, measuring my feet and just being over all friendly. well I ended up picking shoes that were just a little too big and they ended up hurting my feet a couple days later.
so I go back In on wednesday hoping I could buy some shoe pads and maybe they would fill my shoe up and help my foot fit better.
Susy and foot race had none of that. they helped me till I found the perfect shoe for me and exchanged my other pair even though I was willing to chalk It up as a loss.
now my feet feel like Im walking on clouds and Im very very thankful.

My review is strictly on customer service since I never actually got *in* the store. It is 12:50. Store hours posted on the window says 12 – 6. Now it’s your store, I don’t care if you are only open for 7 minutes every other Thursday. But if you post hours you need to actually BE OPEN during those hours!

I liked this place a lot! The guy working was really nice. He assessed my walk as other reviewers have mentioned (most good athletic-​shoe stores will do this for you) and was happy to talk to me about all the different options. I left with two pairs. It seemed to me like he’s the one who actually started the business (because it seemed like he really cared?), and I hope it does well!!!
Oh, and as other reviewers mentioned too — Bandit the french bulldog is ADORABLE. He just slept for a while and then walked around and chilled and received snuggles from his adoring public. And he seems pretty old, so get to Foot Race while he’s still around!

They’ve remolded, the picture on this site are different. The remolding looks more up to date and looked like a place I would shop for myself. The workers were pretty cool and friendly. There a perky cute Asisn girl, that pretty much know what shoes is hot or not. Its was fun shopping here they even had a cute lil doggy. i will recommend this to all my friends. s

I only bought one pair of super cool New Balance shoes here but i try to pass by and wander in as often as i can– all because of lovely Bandit. I am obsessed with little guy and he likes me too (i let him chew my ear lobes and hump my leg endlessly. He has real good grip too– Bandit takes humping business very seriously).

Nice people working here, nice location, nice selection, but when you’re not open when you say you are, that’s just bad business. I’d call ahead or (better yet) skip this place.

The store hours aren’t always dependable, so I recommend calling ahead before heading over. The young guy that helped me out was so patient and attentive and really knew his shoes. He even evaluated my walk to help me find the best support and stability.

Hot store, fancy shoes, nice guy! Definitely come back! Why the system always saying my review is too short! It is hard for a foreigner like me writing a long review. My friend and I went the store after the store closed. We were so sad because we took about 1 hour bus here for this new balance shoe shop! After a while waiting outside the door and playing with the cute dog, the host came out and reopen the store for us. And then we spent a long time selecting the shoes and making mess the shop, lol. Finally we had 2 pairs of hot and fancy shoes, one of them is really rare! In short, the store is awesome!!!

If you’re in the Polk Gulch area and looking for some running or walking shoes, Foot Race is definitely the place to go! Nice, clean store with great customer service. They have a wide variety of Brooks running shoes and the best selection of New Balance shoes in San Francisco! I haven’t seen as many different types of New Balance shoes anywhere else.
And the best part is Bandit, the cute mascot Frenchy that hangs out there!

I walk by the shop everyday since it opened and love the little dog!
But BAD Customer service.
I walked in FRIDAY about 1:00pm in the afternoon. there was an asian couple there asking questions. when I walked in the Shop Guy didn’t say anything to me at first. I saw a pair New Balance that I liked and ask if he had them in an 8. he pointed to the women’s shoes, I told him I have wide feet i prefer Mens shoes.
he said he would bring me what he had in W8 and the smallest mens (which was equal to a W9) .
I was in desperate need of new sneaks YEAH me…
He bring one pair of women’s Bl/​BRIGHT AS* PINK and other pair BL/​RED.
Neither the shoes I asked or in the first place.
HE WALKS AWAY! and talks to the Asian Couple on their iPHONEs and I’M left alone.
I DONT WEAR PINK… so, I get the red, they are a little big but I Just want to get the shoes and go.
I start to walk up to the could the shop guy moves out of my way because he thought I was going to leave!!!
I tell him I buying the shoes. he says «oh, OK» he looks surprised… I give him my card, he asks for my ID…
I told him the shoes are a little big… he said I could bring them back if there is a manufacturing problem with them…
NOW I’M IN TOTAL BUYERS REMORSE… AND IF I GOT SHITY SERVICE TO GET THE SHOES… WHAT KIND OF CRAP AM I GOING TO GET TO TAKE THEM BACK… I buy shoes every week! it is my weakness… but I won’t spend my hard earn money at FOOTRACE again…

I was walking by and stopped to check this place out. Small, neat, and to the point. The Brooks running shoes I got there feel great. And the guy at the counter was patient when helping me. 6 stars if I could.
