Um. YUM! Just barely made it there by 2:00 today expecting to miss out the cinnamon roll I have been dreaming of. Cinnamon rolls are a childhood favorite and I haven’t found a really good one in SF until now. They are moist, not too sweet and have great flavor. They remind me of the ones my dad used to make when I was a kid. I also grabbed a ham/cheese roll and loaf of whole wheat. They too were delicious! Can’t wait to try pizza night!

I’m not even gonna post about this place because it’s the best deal in town and I don’t want it to get ruined. But if you do go, get the onion insider bagel.

So darn good! Ordered online and picked up sandwiches and day old pies. This is the new top choice for ordering lunch in the neighborhood.

Finally, a place to get fresh bread in Bayview! And the bread is excellent – made from fresh-milled grain. We also like the breakfast pastries, sandwiches, and salads a whole lot. Our family likes to come here for the Friday pizza nights. We pair our pizza with a glass of wine from Gratta Wines, which sells its own Bayview-made wines at a cute bar in the back of the shared space.(Together, Fox & Lion Bread and Gratta Wines are«Butchertown Gourmet.») I like good coffee, and the coffee & espresso at Fox & Lion are on par with Bayview’s best(Ritual; Trouble Coffee). No slouching. It’s a pretty convenient location, too: right off the T train(Williams stop), with plenty of street parking nearby. Haven’t been around for bagels yet, but looking forward to that.

Really cute local eatery! The owner is sweet and the ham-and-cheese pastry I had was really good.

The sign outside says Butchertown Gourmet, but the bakery inside is called Fox and Lion. I don’t know the relationship between the 2, but the bread, bagels and cinnamon roll I tried were all excellent. The 4 grain loaf I got was on the denser side, but it had great texture and toasted well. The bagels looked handmade and were better than most bagels I’ve had in California. The cinnamon roll looked the most rustic, but may have been my favorite. Again I liked the density and texture, but also that it tasted more like cinnamon than sugar. I can’t deal with too much icing or any kind of coating on pastries. I would definitely get this again. The pie on their menu was described like a delicious sandwich, and when I saw someone else’s order, my mouth watered. I’m guessing I’ll be back this weekend to try their pie, pastries and/or more bread.

Fox and lion is a special little bakery making artisan bread, pastries, sandwiches and pizza plus lots of other bakery items. The food is always over the top, how about example a Hugh $ 5 sandwich with Pesto, locally grown lettuce, roasted peppers, hand-cut Turkey with a homemade sauce on heritage grain bread. The owner owner, Xan is an accomplished artist who has shown in the National Italian galleries and brings her creativity to Fox and lion. She will be there when you go in and you will love talking to her as much as you do loving the food. Don’t miss it!
