A very cute store with an extremely sweet owner! I just picked up a few pieces of vintage jewelry and she stuck them in a gift box for me :) Prices are affordable and the store is small but has a decent array of items.

This is a gem of a store in the outer Sunset! The classy sign outside is matched by the warm and inviting décor inside. Lynn Barfield, the owner, sells clothing(mostly women’s and some men’s), jewelry, shoes, accessories, all from top labels, and many items in new or like new condition. All of the clothing is professionally cleaned before hitting the sales floor, and the store itself smells wonderful, and has a bright, clean feeling. Lynn still has a day job, so the store’s hours are limited, but she’s open on weekend afternoons which is pretty convenient. Prices are generally in the $ 20 range, with suits and dresses costing more and casual wear like T-shirts going for $ 5 – 10. Great store for women of all sizes(pettite and regular sizes as well as plus) to come and find vintage designer clothing.

Glad to see Joanne Y’s review! Owner Lynn Barfield commented that she, «had to stay in business, she paid too much for the sign out front!» and that a nice customer had posted her to Unilocal, but she’d been unable to locate the review. I’ll be sure to let Lynn know, that I saw it and was her second review. And while I admit it, I was tempted to not post as I would like to keep this little gem of a store just between Joanne Y and I, it’s stores like this you hope will flourish in these hard economic times as the story behind it is truly inspirational to shop-a-holics! Lynn’s mother Freddie was a self-declared shop-a-holic. And upon her passing, she asked Lynn to do something special with her things. Well, she’s doing something special! Neiman, Saks and one of a kind vintage labels are packed into this store! Reasonably priced and immaculately taken care of. I scored a pair of amazing hand stitched driving gloves for all the motoring I do in the Bay Area. There was a stack of driving gloves and given the funding I would have bought them all! She’s open limited hours. Thursday and Friday 6 — 8 p.m. and Weekends 12 – 8 p.m. Support a local business and stop by. Do it fast, because I may just be back to buy up every single one of her fun accessories!

Found this beautiful thrift store in the outer Sunset(near the beach) which is unlike no other other. This store does not resemble a thrift store at all. This store does not smell stuffy nor musty like Goodwill’s or the other thrift stores in the city. The owner Lynn Barfield, is a warm and inviting woman who welcomes all her customers with a big warm smile. She carries many high-end designer labels at great affordable prices. The labels she carries are David Dart, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Anne Klein, to name a few. She carries clothing from plus sizes, larger women to small sizes. She also carries some men sweatshirts and t-shirts such as Ecko and Rocca Wear. The outer sunset has needed a store like this for a long time coming.

A new Thrift Store just opened in the Outer Sunset — Freddie’s Nifty Thrifties. The first thing that caught my attention was the sign — sounds funny, but seriously it’s a fabulous sign. It’s way, way nicer than anything I’ve ever seen on a thrift store, and it has got to be the classiest sign in the Outer Sunset. Once I walked through the door, I realized that Nifty Thrifties may be the classiest store out here. I had a moment of doubt(«this can’t be a thrift store?») It looks like an elegant women’s clothing boutique. But a quick look around confirmed it: one of each item, low prices. Those are the thrift store essentials and that’s where the comparisons end. As I entered, I was warmly greeted by Lynn Barfield, the owner.(Freddie was her mother’s name.) It’s a small place, with one rack each for dresses, skirts, slacks, jackets, blouses, suits and shelves of folded knit shirts, pants & shoes. There’s also some jewelry. Everything looks freshly cleaned and ironed. And the whole store smells nice — none of that funky Goodwill odor. The clothes are mostly plus sizes 14 to 22, by upscale lines like Anne Klein, Coldwater Creek, David Dart, Ellen Tracy, and the like. Prices are about $ 15 to $ 25 per item, with most things priced at $ 20. Ms. Barfield is still working a day job in addition to running this store, so for now she’s opening Freddie’s Nifty Thrifties on weekends and a couple of evenings per week. If you’re looking for beautiful, affordable plus-sized clothing, I’d recommend a trip out to Judah &44th Ave.
