Good spot for TV and games. Big space on second level.

This place is awesome! You can catch a game, get some good food and they have a wide selection of beer. The bartenders are always nice(from my experience), and the crowd is pretty laid back and nice as well. The inside is a bit old and dusty, but definitely a good experience for games and events

Really cool spot for sporting events or just to hang out. It’s huge and has a ton of TV’s so there’s no bad seat in the house. Beer selection is good and there’s plenty of arcade games to keep you occupied if the TV sports aren’t your forte.

Fun place to watch the game!!! Even if you can’t get a seat there is a TV from every angle. Thought it was super cute there was a line for the Men’s bathroom & not the women’s. Wish it wasn’t so busy we could of played shuffle board. Lots of Bronco & Patriots fans…

Came here after work to welcome our team from Japan to the city. Typically I like this place, never had much of an issue but will never be back. This review is for the tool of a «security guard» who feels the need to publicly shame a group of people who have absolutely no idea what you are saying. A few of the people with us had forgotten their passports at home and we’re not aware they wouldn’t be allowed to drink since they were let in. A few minutes after beer was brought to our table, security walks up to one of our visitors and starts chastising him about not having a stamp and how he was already informed at the door he would not be able to drink. The entire time this poor guy has no idea what is being said to him as security tries to kick him out. I called the guy over and explained they are from Japan and speak hardly any English(something you think they would be used to in such a touristy area). I was condescendingly told how he would have to check with his associates since it was«so busy» on a Wednesday night and he had no problem kicking us all out and clearing our table up. As the guy was gone we try and explain to our group exactly what is going on, meanwhile our friend from Japan is sweating bullets thinking he may be getting arrested. Once security comes back he feels the need to make everyone from Japan without a stamp raise their hands up in the air, again they have no idea what he is saying, and makes the one guy in particular raise his hands all the way up as high as he can so people can see they don’t have a stamp. They are foreign not stupid and certainly not children. I understand the law and the rules, however, instead of making yourself look like a complete ass, try and understand exactly what is happening. Our company pays for us to do these types of events as team building but in the future our money can be better spent elsewhere. We ended up leaving early and closing are tab sooner rather than later. Rant over.

I was visiting SF and my friend who lives in the city brought me here for a drink. The first thing I noticed as we walked up the stairs to the bar is that this was an absolute sports bar. As soon as we got inside I noticed tons of Tvs and projectors showing the football games, it was a playoff weekend, so it was pretty darn crowded. Besides not being able to grab a table this place was awesome! They have an amazing beer selection and it’s nice that they have it separated by the type of beer which makes choosing a beer a lot easier. I was actually able to come here the next day, but we were warned that if we wanted a good seat we had to show up before the placed opened up… boy am I glad that I took the advice. We showed up 15 minutes prior to opening and there was already two groups ahead of us. By the time they opened the line was down the block. So once we had a great seat, it was time to order food! We tried the nachos, fries and wings(typical bar food). While it wasn’t the best it was good enough. What really made this place was the ambiance that all of the Tvs, sports memorabilia, arcade games, and even some shuffle boards created. This is honestly a fantastic place to come to grab some beers, hang with friends and watch some sports. Oh yeah, the pitchers ranged from $ 18 – 21 depending on the kind of beer you get.

How did I never know about this place? Probably because the outside is small and easy to miss but the inside is huge — think Dave and Busters meets San Francisco. Even on a busy night(Friday night with a Warriors game), there was still a place to sit(with some work) and not long of a wait at the bar. There are a TON of beer/stout/cider options. The bar food is… bar food, but even a cheese quesadilla tastes pretty good after a couple beers. With all the huge TV screens, it was a good place to watch a game. Now I’d like to come back and play some games(pool, shuffleboard, skeeball).

This is a cool spot. I came here with my coworkers for a bite to eat and to have a few drinks. Let me just say that if you’re a beer fan this place is beer heaven. They have 100+ beers to choose from. I felt like a kid in a candy store. The fact that they also have arcade games and tons of TV’s was pretty awesome too. It’s a pretty huge place but the seating is somewhat limited. So note to self avoid going in big groups. As for the food, I had the flame grilled cheese burger with an order of truffle fries. The fries were meh as well as the cheese burger. The burger was way over cooked after having asked for medium-rare. So that was a bit of a let down. Another thing is that you have to go up to the bar to place your order. Kind of a hassle because the bar area can get pretty packed. So double fist it if you have to.

In the heart of downtown San Francisco is slim pickins. Mostly everything is to catch the eye and wallet of the typical tourist. Golden Gate Taproom was totally that. I would come here when the World Cup is playing and I’m rooting for my Portugal. Or maybe if the Brooklyn Nets were in the NBA finals. Or maybe on a lazy and fun Sunday afternoon with friends to just relax and play pool and chat — which is how I discovered this place. Overall, it’s meh. But they do have a ton of TVs and screens for sports lovers to watch your sports.

shuffleboard was fun until the work day people evicted us early for a reservation. We thought they were pretty rude kicking us out before the reservation began, and it could have been done more tactfully. They reserved so much of the tap room that we couldn’t play anything but skiball, and foosball. That was fun but we can only burn so much money on that before it got old. We called before and they didn’t mention the large reservation, and they only had one bartender until three or so. Beer is good here, great selection, but the reservations and food kind of ruin the vibe. I don’t recommend this place during the holiday season unless you’re reserving most of the joint. I had the pulled pork and the fries were mostly cold, and the pulled pork tasted like warmed up Costco pulled pork.

I remember his boxing classes like they were the other day… «jab jab!» :whud! whud!: «jab hook!» :whud! whud!: «right left right!» :whud! whud! whud!: Except randomly finding myself next to Paris Alexander by the Simpsons pinball actually *was* the other day. I should’ve looked around for Neungsiam or Bunkerd too. …And told them to get the PULLEDPORK. The bun pillowed upon knife contact; so airy & light. Sandos at other places should take cues from this bread. Other places should also take cues from having Simpsons video games coughbrewcadecough.

This place is so much fun! It doesn’t have ticket games or a prize room like Dave & Busters, but it’s got plenty of music, booze, food, sports and bar games to keep you and your friends busy all night! We played whack-a-gator(?), skeeball, foosball and shuffleboard all while enjoying beers, fries and wings! The food and the beer came out super quick, and our waitress was very fun and friendly! I’m not from San Francisco, but if I’m back, this will definitely be a place that I hit up again if I’m in the mood for a fun time with friends!

Not quite your average sports bar, but yet a typical sports bar at the same time. Plenty of tv’s all around, so you’ll never miss a minute of the game. Plenty of beers on tap for every palette, and arcade games for those not into sport or for the down time during a time out or half time. Need I say more? Even if I’m not in the Union Square area, I’ll tend to recommend meeting at GGTR because you’re bound to have a good time and meet everyone’s expectations.

I am so happy I found this place. Not far from Union Square shopping. Big sign reads GOLDENGATETAPROOM. Up a ton of stairs but totally worth the travel and they do have an elevator. Two yes Two floors of drinks, food, sports, comfy seating, arcade games. I felt right at home as soon as I walked in. This place is huge and so is there beer selection. Divided into categories so you can easily find your style of brew be it IPA, Porters, Ales or Stouts, there were at least 10 taps per type of beer. Even cooler than that, The WHEELOFBEER for those who just cant decide, decked with actual beer bottles of the choices, pay $ 6 and the bartender spins the wheel. Wherever it lands that’s your beer. You also have a chance to win a shot of whiskey too. Like I said before this place is huge. They reserve what I want to call semi private viewing areas for guest to enjoy more intimate seating to watch the game or just chat with friends and co workers. With large projector style screens and booth seating these are some of the best seats in the house. As for the food. We ordered from the GAMEDAY menu, boneless wings with the sauce of the side 8 bucks and nachos with chicken and bacon $ 6 bucks. Wings were great, not overly breaded and freshly fried so they were piping hot. Nachos were okay I found the nacho cheese to be cold, kinda disappointing but the beers were also a deal $ 18 for 4IPAS. I saw some delicious burgers come out and the street tacos sounded pretty good too. Overall Golden Gate Taproom was a pretty good time. Noise level was pretty low despite the music, fans yelling and everyone conversing. The placed filled up pretty quickly after we arrived but service remained quick and friendly. I really really like this place. Now I know where to get my post shopping brew from.

Came here for a work gathering the other night and I got to say, the food is great! I LOVED the fried shrimp it was SOO juicy. The taco was mediocre. The drinks were also okay, not super strong. My favorite part was definitely the shrimp. The chicken wings were also pretty good too! Theres plenty of people here and it was definitely popping when we got here. They play a variety sport games so theres plenty of rowdy guys watching sport games. Theres plenty of post work career men, and they also have some games to be played. I didn’t play any of the games, but its definitely quite a chill place. It’s like a Dn B but on a smaller level. Parking is horrid. Theres no place to park here so if you come, bart, über, or lyft!

Golden Gate Tap Room is a great non-cheesy(almost) version of a shorts bar in downtown SF! When it comes to sports bars, most have crappy food and smell funky. Golden Gate Tap Room is large enough that it doesn’t smell bad, actually has GREAT beers on tap, and is a good food option. They do have covers for big games here, so be wary. We hosted a company happy hour here with 20+ people and it went swimmingly… there is so much for everyone to do(games)!

This was a very cool place. The bar was upstairs and had a cool atmosphere. There were tons of sports pictures and figures around. The bar was very small, but the room was big itself with arcade and other games. There were lots of TVs too. The service was solid. We ordered 3 items, the wings plate($ 17), short rib tacos($ 9), and the nachos($ 5). The wings plate came with 4 different types with 4 of each I believe. The flavors were dry rub, buffalo, teriyaki, and BBQ. The wing sizes were solid. I was not a fan of the teriyaki wing too much, but the buffalo and BBQ were outstanding. The buffalo was a traditional buffalo sauce and had a nice kick to it. The BBQ wing was just right. I did not try a dry rub wing. The short rib tacos were solid. There were 3 to an order. The meat was very tender and succulent. The corn tortilla I was not a fan of, but I got passed it because of the meat and the special sauce that was present. The nachos were a disappointment. I was not a fan of the cheese. The chicken was solid though. I thought these nachos were missing something, maybe jalapenos or some type of spicy ingredient. Will I go back? Yeah definitely. Very cool atmosphere and solid bar food.

Typical. It’s a sports bar full of city locals & tourists. It looks life a fun place, but it’s like you typical sports bars with ok food. The place is crawling with sports gear, sports related activities, and sports! Go Sports! Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of sports & I can see where this place would be more festive, but I guess I came at a wrong time because this place didn’t seem that enthusiastic about the sports happenings. Anyway, the beer is good & despite it being a sports bar, the glasses they use cause they have pretty funny sayings. You’ll have to check it out to see! Anyway, if there was a big game, I would come here, there are 3 levels & it looks like there would be a lot of seating and enough tvs to watch sports! Go Sports!

This is my second visit to this place and I just love it. 1. Lots of space, multiple floors, to mingle around and find your spot. 2. Always a fun and hip crowd(mid-to late 20’s and above). 3. Decent bar food if you’re going straight after work. 4. It’s a perfect place for a game night — lots of TV screens to watch the big game. 5. The staff is SUPER friendly! Definitely a place to hang out!
