Hair by Roberto

I’ve been getting my haircut from Roberto for a couple years now. From the very first visit Roberto has been encouraging me to grow my hair long and helping through the long process with frequent cuts and styles to keep it exciting. I usually don’t like my hair past my shoulders, but Roberto’s enthusiasm makes me want to grow it longer! Roberto is a very friendly and passionate hairstylist. I walk away after each haircut feeling gorgeous with silky, bouncy hair! I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a consistent, reliable hairstylist.

I discovered Roberto on Style Seat. Just FYI, his location has changed! He’s now at a cute salon near 16^th Street Bart station.
Roberto is great! Fit me in same-​day, gave me a great haircut, and we had a fun conversation the entire time.

I was looking for a hairdresser closer to my work. I checked Unilocal and found Roberto. I explained him briefly that I needed layers on my long hair to give it some nice shape and a blow dry, so my hair would look naturally waved. Too bad that I did not took a picture to post it, so everyone could see what a nice job Roberto did! I had to fly for a conference the same night and I needed my hair to stay nice for a couple of days. It did!!! Thank you Roberto! I love my wavy beautiful hair (and other people too. I got so many compliments)! You are a very pleasant person and a great master of hair!

Affordable price, great quality, thin natural looking highlights. You can tell Roberto is passionate about his work and you will leave feeling ever so special because I love my cut and color much!

I found Roberto through Unilocal and I’m so glad I did. Roberto has a lot of experience; he’s worked in salons in downtown San Francisco. I learned he was also a stylist for Dry Bar. I went to Roberto for highlights and a haircut and was more than happy with the results. My daughter has also entrusted her hair to Roberto and has been happy with the results. He takes the time to explain the process and offers his expert advice but doesn’t push it on you.
Roberto is currently working out of Sol and Luna salon on 24^th Street.

Love love love Roberto. I walk in to his hair salon but I strut out! I have never had such a great experience getting my hair done. He does a great job and is REALLY well priced. Most salons in the city cost you an arm and a leg, you walk in and everyone is stuck up. Roberto knows how to make you look and feel sexy. I recommend him to everyone I know.

I’m about to tell you something that I never really wanted to share with anyone else but I know you’ll thank me later for this. Want to know the secret to my fabulous hair? One word: ROBERTO. That’s right. What you can expect:

I went ombré a couple weeks ago & have since gone back one more time to lighten it a bit. Roberto keeps my hair healthy & his blowouts are #amaze. I didn’t think I’d like ombré this much but I’M LOVING the work he did on my difficult Asian hair. Thanks, Roberto! xoxo

Don’t judge a book by its cover. When I first walked into the salon where Hair by Roberto is located (1 station in Sol y Luna salon) I almost about faced right where I stood. Clutter gives me anxiety. In fact, the Mission gives me anxiety. I only came to see Roberto because a close friend of mine swears that he does «Marina Girl» hair at «Mission Hipster» prices.
When it comes to my hair, I am one of those hyper focused «don’t you dare get scissor happy with me kind of women». An «if you even go ½ an inch shorter than I advised, you will pay» kind of women. I adore my long hair. Short hair makes me feel ugly. No one wants to feel ugly. So let’s just say I take it seriously.
So of course me walking into a new salon isn’t my ideal situation but I was a bit tired of spending $ 500+ of my hard earned «dinero» on an every other month occasion by my previous hairdresser who just grew too comfortable (lazy) with me.
I put my panic attack aside I boldly strapped myself into the chair and described my ideal look. Roberto, nodded his head and said «Baby, trust me, in a few short hours you will walk out looking better than Beyonce in that Garnier Frutctis commercial (and thats not even her real hair)», I took a deep breath and allowed him to get to work.
Deep Breath…
Two hours later I had not only the PERFECT color I also had the PERFECT cut. A fabulous trim that magically made my three inches of split ends appear repaired with length at a place where even I could hardly see a difference. The blow out was on point! I have fine hair and it usually takes a master of the round brush to get any volume let alone a curl. Roberto has MASTERED the round brush!!!
Best. Styling. EVER. oh and not discount the service by the prices. SO REASONABLE!
Shew, I survived the Mission, my hair is still long, no one is ugly and I saved some serious dough. Can’t wait to go back!

I first started seeing Roberto a few months ago. He is now the only stylist I would ever trust with my hair. He always does exactly what I want but exceeds my expectations every time! My hair was extremely damaged and dry, and now I can see it healthier than ever. Roberto is def. a perfectionist and always makes sure I leave the salon happy. I’ve referred a few of my friends who now see him as well. Best part is, he’s great to talk to and doesn’t charge much at all!

I met Roberto a few years ago through a mutual acquaintance and have been going to him to get my hair cut ever since. He charges very modest prices for someone so skilled. My friends and coworkers are always complimenting my hair when I get it cut, and he gives me very fashionable hairstyles. Over the years we’ve gone through a couple of different styles and he always listens to me, but I also trust his taste. Friends I’ve brought to him really like him too and have gone back. Roberto’s very personable and I like going to his new salon. You will too!

After paying twice as much for haircuts I liked half as much, a friend recommended Roberto to me. Roberto has been cutting my hair for almost a year now and I could not recommend him more highly!!! My hair is very difficult to cut and it’s really easy to see any mistakes, but Roberto takes his time, listens to what I want, and does an amazing job every time. He is a perfectionist and won’t let me leave until my hair looks its best! Roberto has a great personality and is super easy to talk to, so I always enjoy getting my hair cut by him. I have also sent several friends, both men and women, his way with various types of hair and they have all been very happy. Roberto’s prices are incredibly reasonable for the city, especially considering such high quality work. He’s the best!
