Rain or shine, these guys are awesome. We came hungry at 2:30am on a Friday night in search of dirty dogs, and this cart did not disappoint. We found them on the corner of 19th and Mission on a miserably wet and rainy night. Seriously, my greatest appreciation and respect for the man and woman team who runs the cart. They’ve got a solid operation going — the man handles the cash while the woman commandeers the cooking and doles out dogs like a pro — she will expertly pat your bun in a bit of delicious lard, pick out a dog with just about the right amount of crisp on the bacon, plunker down a mess of grilled onions and jalapenos, and finish it off with a squiggly dual squirt of mayo and ketchup — all within 15 seconds of placing your order(which is almost as long as it takes me to scarf down these unthinkably delicious babies whilst loitering under the eave of a nearby storefront). DEELISHHHUSSS!!! These dirty dogs go down in the category of utter-health-hazard-but-completely-worth-it-without-regrets.

Compared to other carts, the hotdogs here are more on the burnt side — on purpose I think, but it was still really good! The buns are noticeably more toasty too. For $ 3 each( ), one can easily and quickly pre-coat their stomach before going to Mission drinking places. Of course, it’s for post-drinking, but it’s also fine when still-sober! This bacon-wrapped hot dog cart( ) is parked in front of the new«Gracias Madre» Mexican restaurant. A lady works the cart, with a couple of guys helping out. If miss seeing the cart, the awesome aroma is noticeable even around the corner.
