The crepes are actually really good. i like their crêpe own itself. Its quite thick unlike Japanese crepes. Not sure if its hong kong style. The staffs are nice, they are always welcoming.

** MINIMUMOF $ 5PERPERSON ** I personally don’t mind that, I’ve been to many dessert places that do this but the way they went about it was super weird. It was my first time coming here to avoid the rain outside and they were completely empty on a Friday at dinner time. It’s understandable since it’s pouring outside. I walked in having check Unilocal first and saw good reviews about the dessert so I was expecting good service too. But the server I guess was pretty rude and seemed to want us to leave. I didn’t see the minimum charge on the menu so I ordered a banana strawberry crêpe with Nutella and once she heard me and my bf was sharing, she goes«uh order something else or we’re gonna charge you«and points at the minimum charge sign. No problem, I’ll order something else too. I ask her for a few more seconds and she keeps standing at our table(which was the only one occupied btw in an empty restaurant) and refused to leave to give me time to look through the menu even though I asked her twice if I can get a few more minutes. She didn’t even want to put the order in until I had ordered something else. So I quickly ordered 2 hot milk tea to cover the $ 5 charge as she watched me the whole time and she made sure to make it known that I can’t have it to go even though I was sitting down already … I said okay that’s fine … I wasn’t planning on taking my milk tea to go … And she goes yea good we don’t let you. Just kinda rude. And she watched us eat the whole 20 mins we were in there from 5 feet away and talked about us. I don’t think she realized I understood Cantonese so even though the crêpe and milk tea was good, I don’t think I’ll be back. Overall a very very awkward and pushy experience.

It was so quiet and no one was here when we got there, which was surprising since the reviews were really good! The presentation of the food was really good, & my boyfriend and I enjoyed it :) The price was decent, no wait and yummy desserts ^^ oh and cash only.

How is this place so dead on a Friday night?! I came here for the first time based on the Unilocal reviews and I’m very impressed. Unlike Kowloon Tong or 100% up the street, Icy Yama focuses more on a Japanese theme for desserts and really shines here. They offer interesting combinations of flavors that are well balanced and have great presentation. We got the ice cream w/expresso — which is two scoops of creamy ice cream in a small boat of expresso — absolutely fabulous. We also got their tiramisu iced coffee — while it needs a hair more punch of chocolate and tiramisu flavor overall it was excellently balanced in flavor and creaminess. The crepes are fabulous — and they don’t skimp on the ingredients. Our crêpe came present like a blooming flower of ice cream and fruit. The scoop of ice cream was huge and the crêpe itself was jammed up and down with fruit(and they didn’t overdo it on the whipped cream!). I almost felt bad having to destroy the excellent presentation, but didn’t have regrets in the slightest as the taste was superb! Just one word of caution — while I give Icy Yama credit for trying to break from the crowd and being authentic to taste, unless you really like the earthier taste of Puerh tea, don’t get their Icy Yama special milk tea ;-) FYI, they are currently celebrating their 1 year anniversary and are offering 20% of your bill to celebrate. Given the excellent quality of their deserts for the price, especially compared to other well established places in Richmond, I’ll be making return visits!

They changed their hour, they only open 3days now. Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4pm to midnight. I love this little place, food and price are both good. Love their milk tea with ice cream in it

OMG!!! I absolutely love this little spot. The workers are so kind and friendly. They have a different selection of teas that are so bomb. The crepes are really good and delicious. I love crepes so I always try to find different places in San Francisco where I am able to enjoy them.

Even though I only ordered $ 10 worth of food it was sooo disgusting. They’re HK selection of desserts is overwhelming but flavorless and bland. I left my food on the table after one bite. Server also did not bring any drinks or water to my table. Decided to clean the empty restaurant instead of tend to to the only patrons in there. I really ripped off and disgusted by their flavor of their desserts. How do you mess up Ice cream anyway?

Yikes — What a disaster. Avoid this place. Our Banana/Nutella Crêpe was inedible and awkward. The matcha green tea shaved ice with ice cream was bitter and again, inedible. Waste of a $ 17 dessert for two. CASHONLY.

Yummy little hidden gem I’m glad I found, located next to other shops that will satisfy even the biggest of sweet tooth. Wide menu variety, however they didn’t have what I thought was a common item(butter!) available. They serve lots of other things besides crepes. Quick service and friendly folks, but it’s cash only which I didn’t know until I had already put my order in. Luckily the convenience store across the street had an ATM. About $ 21 for three crepes ranging from a basic one ingredient crêpe to multi item filled to the brim crêpe. The shells themselves were cold(pre made?) even though they were fresh and made to order.

This place is cash only, and to dine in there’s a $ 5 per person minimum charge(this was a hand written note in pink they taped on the front of their menu). Yes folks according to their policy I had to pay for a dessert over $ 5 in order for me to hang with friends(even though I only wanted to share something with my husband). What is the point of putting a small sized drink on your menu for $ 3 when your minimum is $ 5 per person? Because of this policy a friend had to order a drink a size larger to meet their minimum charge. For me I just wanted to share a dessert with my husband, but because of their policy, I had to order something to meet their $ 5 per person minimum charge. I’m sorry but this is absurd.

Icy Yama is a dessert place in the outer Richmond district of San Francisco. It opened in Mid-2014, and still looks very new and is very clean. Especially for a Chinese type Dessert place. They have a little bit of everything in desserts, from waffle cones, crepes, ice cream, to other assorted delectibles. They even have food items. The people working here are Cantonese speakers and seem to be from Hong Kong. The service was very good and friendly. This place is open from 4 to Midnight. We came in the evening around 9:30 pm and they were empty. There are some other competition nearby, but I guess this place hasn’t caught on yet. I told them they should have WiFi so that people can hang out more, helping business.

I absolutely love this place. It’s within walking distance from our home which makes it a bit dangerous since we always want to go here. I always order their Honey Lemon Citron drink. Their crepes are soft– not hard and burnt like many other crêpe places in Sf. Every time I have a crêpe any other place but here I immediately regret it. Their egglets are also very good and not over cooked. Their green tea smoothie is delicious. The décor is a bit weird but the place is often quiet and the music is pleasant. The owners are also very kind and will always remember you when you come in.

The owner and her son are so sweet! They take their time making their desserts instead of rushing every order. I got their homemade unique almond dessert and it was really good! I was skeptical at first because it looked like thick white soup, but the almond flavor spot on. I also tried their banana crêpe, which was good, as well. The wrap is more soft than crispy, so if you’d prefer a soft wrap, that’s a plus. The lady serving us, or the owner constantly refilled our tea and asked how we were with a sweet calm smile Oh yeah, after 9pm it’s 30% off.

Very extensive list of HK style desserts, menu kind of overwhelming. I like the special dessert, nippon ujikintoki, which is green tea shaved ice with red bean paste and mochi. Tastes great and the mochi lets you chew on something so you don’t finish the ice too quickly. Cash only. Bare bones furniture. Warm service. Polly Ann’s ice cream, if that matters(support local!). Street parking is terrible around here at night since it’s mostly residential; might want to try a block down near Wash HS.

We came here on a Friday evening for desserts. We had peanut butter waffles and milk tea. Both items are well made and delicious. A cup of decent milk tea that uses real tea leaves shows a lot of passion. Service was excellent. I have never had a waiter pulling out a chair for me at any other Hong Kong cafes. The owners were very polite, they sincerely asked us for feedback. Everything they do here shows how munch they care. This place is super clean. Also, they have a great playlist of Cantonese and Mandarin pop songs. It saddens me that fellow cold-blooded Unilocalers would give negative reviews without valid reasons. This small family-owned business is obviously striving hard to stay in business at this early stage. I hope that their negative reviews will not stop people from checking this place out. It’s highly recommended if you are craving for Hong Kong style food!

My blood probably consists of 99.5% sugar by now since I have desserts for my dinners… Family owned dessert place that just opened about a month ago! They try to bring over some of the authentic HK snacks and desserts. .:ambiance:. Simple interior with black & white chairs and tables. They were playing HK songs in the background(YESMYFAV!!!). I was there on a Tuesday night at 8pm and there was maybe one or two other groups there. It was pretty quiet which would be a good place to study if it stays this way. .:service:. Stellar service. The waitress and waiter that day who I believed was the owner and her son were super sweet. We made two orders of egg puffs but their machine broke and was only to make us 1 order of it. It wasn’t a big deal but the owner kept coming over and sincerely apologizing for it. They took their time making each dessert(in a reasonable time), which I appreciate because I would want good quality. .:goodies:. Homemade unique Black sesame 4.50: very rich taste of black sesame! I ordered thinking of another dessert I wanted but it was not bad! The look may throw u off though since it’s pitch black. It’s sweet even though it looks nothing like anything sweet. Egg puffs 3.50: since their machine broke I can’t really judge the full potential it could have. The outside was crunchy and the inside was chewy. Generally a good texture. Crêpe 2.50: –Polly Ann 2.50 –Premium vanilla ice cream 1.50 –Toppings 1.50 –spread: 1.50 Crêpe was decent! I like the touch with Polly Ann’s ice cream. I didn’t really like how they put the Nutella all on the bottom of the crêpe because at the top I only had plain crêpe and ice cream and strawberries when I really wanted all three together. I know, First World Problems. They have this HK style waffles with peanut butter and sugar i believe, and unfortunately I can’t try it due to how my skin will break out from the peanut butter, but if you don’t have that problem, DOTRY! It sounds interesting. Let me know what you think:) Great potential to grow, because it’s still new. They have milkshakes, crepes, snacks, waffles, teas, milk teas, etc. A variety, but somehow it felt limited still. ****CASHONLY****

Grass jelly sago w/sesame ice cream: great combo and it was yummmmmy Takoyaki: has more tako in it than the ones from quickly! Although they could maybe try frying it a little longer Hk style waffle w/peanut and suger: quite similar to the one I tried in Macau~ delicious! They could use a little less batter tho! Over all experience: thumbs up!
