I’m going to start by saying that the food is quite good. I’ve had their buffet a couple of times and tonight my wife and me got take out. However, they double charged our card, won’t do anything about it for three days, and then we have to bring a bank statement in proving that that is what they did. If this isn’t dishonesty it is still terrible customer service. Since we rarely have a chance to take time away from our jobs and 3 year old this restaurant is off of our list.

I found out the taqueria turned into an Indian restaurant only after dragging a couple of people for tacos. As soon as we walked in, «Um, Noël. I don’t think they have burritos.» The last couple of days I’ve called multiple times between 5 – 9 yet no one has answered their phone. I guess I won’t be ordering take out.

The fifth(!) Indian or Pakistani restaurant in a single block of the Tenderloin, perhaps they’re banking on tourists with old guidebooks who think it’s still Dottie’s, the breakfast place. The décor and layout hasn’t changed too much since it was a Mexican restaurant, new table tops and the place has had a thorough cleaning. That’s fine, the place has a nice, comfortable, homey feel that puts you at ease more than some of the other more hectic places nearby. Staff were friendly but a bit bewildered on opening day, I think one of the owners or family members must have served me, waiting for someone else to show up. I only had one dish, the lamb biryani, which was medium good. A little dry –it could have used some raita but they charge $ 1.99 for that here. Lemon and chutney definitely would help, maybe that’s my issue. I didn’t notice it at the counter and they didn’t offer it for the to go container(nor any napkins). The lamb was a bit overcooked and tough but not too much, no hidden treasures in there just the lamb and some cilantro leaves, and it was generous. On the good side things tasted very fresh, as you’d expect for their first day in business. I’ll reserve judgment until I try some more dishes and things have a chance to settle in. Prices about $ 8 – 12 per dish.
