Let me close my eyes at night… Let me dream about naked boys all the night… Let me open my eyes in the morning… Let me enjoy my day w/o all day long yawning… Let me please… please… sleep… n. o… w…

What can I say… having been afflicted with insomnia at different points of my life, it has its ups and downs. First off, it’s a great time to catch up on all of my friends’ reviews on Unilocal since I am a little foggy to read more hardcore stuff. Then, between Unilocal threads and my recent introduction to gmail… I get to see who else is similarly afflicted at 3:00 in the morning(why is it always at 3:00 in the morning? It’d be better if it was at 1:00 in the morning… leaving me more time to try to drift back into sleep). And it lets me browse through the internet looking at reviews for books I’ve heard about(thanks, Javier M. for always keeping me intrigued with new titles you are reading!) or just catch up on friends’ blogs. One of my friends used to run one of the most amazing blogs on poetry… but he’s sadly decided to let it go awhile back. He decided he had said everything he needed to say for the time being. I had to admire him for the decision to know when he had said his piece(instead of rambling on forever into the virtual world as I am doing now). The downside: One of the things that’s a little sad about being on the West Coast is that everyone on the East Coast is enjoying their last hour of sleep or just waking up. Whereas my friends on the East Coast will often call me when they have insomnia… if only I could call them when I have insomnia… I have a bit of catching up to do with some friends and it’s always difficult to find the good hour to catch up. Too, you get that gritty feel in your eyes in the morning. It takes about 2 large cups of coffee just to begin to function at work. And if there’s a meeting or a long training session(oh, these infernal eternal training sessions!), it makes me rather fidgety.
