Grand opening! And they already have raw meat sitting in crates on the floor. Their disregard for any type of refrigeration or cleanliness for the meat is appalling and just disgusting. Please get this fixed asap. You already have flies crawling all over this meat! You’re poisoning your customers!

WHATISTHISPLACE? I was walking around Sunset looking for a place to buy some fish other than at Adronicos. I was hoping for something affordable. I walk in and see a mini market with things scattered everywhere. Not sure what was going on at all in there. Then I looked over to the butchering area… no meats on display, odd, but okay. I ask if they have any fish. What? I ask again, fish? No fish. I glance around but there’s really nothing else that I needed. I’m still fairly confused. I don’t understand how this place would survive. I’m not coming back. How does a seafood market not have any seafood?!

Huaaawaaaaaaaaaat?! Only TWO reviews in this listing? Impossible. English name, Irving Seafood Market and as already stated, you won’t find live or frozen fish here. Chinese name: Hung Won Supermarket(again, nothing to do with Won Hung Low) Let’s face it, this grocery/supermarket/deli store doesn’t seem all that interesting. A mish mash of various things you can find at most Chinese supermarkets, some steam table food and even really random small selection of maybe buns or dim sum. So what’s with the 4 star love? Answer: (\____/) /@__@ \ (((oo))) ‘ -. ~~. — ‘ Still getting a huh? No no no, not the head. In Cantonese, this is called Siu Yok. aka roast pork with über crispy delicious skin. Usually the prime cuts are by the belly for obvious reasons. This will be one of the most affordable and finest Roasties you will ever have. I gotta be honest, the Cantonese BBQ deli section seems to have an ultra limited selection. Of all the times the past 8 years I’ve been by here, there is at most a slab of cha shiu(bbq pork), hardly a duck(rare), maybe a soy sauce chicken. So I wonder how much they sell. But what they always seem to have here, is a slab of the swinetastic crispy carcass. Not the whole hog sadly,(young baby roasted swine costs a pretty penny and usually reserved for $pecial occa$$ion$). But whatever Siu Yuk ISM has, is of the utmost fantastic quality. Ask specifically for the cuts nearest the bone, like a pound’s worth, have them chop it up. It will be very challenging to not munch on the bite sized roasties in the car before you take it home to pair it with perfectly steamed jasmine rice.
