Isaac the Girl

Isaac is back! She’s cutting in Old Oakland a few days a week. As always, Isaac is highly skilled at listening to her clients and bringing her flare and expertise to bare on each and every haircut (ahem, I mean life changing experience).

Really, I echo my fellow reviewers. Isaac is sooo amazing with curly hair. I wanted to cut my hair short (something I hadn’t done since I was 6) and donate it. I was so terrified, but Isaac did an amazing job. The amount of attention she gave to my shape and style was incredible. She wanted to make sure every little hair was cut the right way…
AMAZING.

I’m a man with exceptionally curly hair. It is frizzy as all get out. I am often mistaken for any mix of different races, due to my generous mop. I have also decided to wear my beautiful genetic advantage loudly and proudly, and sport my hair long. As a dude, I’m not used to the whole «salon» experience, nor am I a habitué to maintaining longish and voluminous hair. That said, it was recently time for my first trim, and after having people screw up my hair when cutting it short, I decided to play it safe. I looked around and Isaac’s reviews were the most convincing. And boy are people right! She’s extremely low stress and all about hair health. She also has an excellent instinct for how people’s hair falls. My cut looked great, and my curls are cleaner, more defined and more shapely than ever. Thank you, Isaac.

If you have curly hair then Isaac is the hair stylist for you. I’ve gone to
many salons from San Francisco to Los Altos and they all cut my hair wet to later see they cut too much hair off. Isaac is the first hairstylist that I’ve experience that cuts hair dry. She recently cut my hair to complement my facial features and I now I have more volume and lots of beautiful curls. I finally found somebody that understands my curly hair.

If you have curly hair and you don’t know Isaac yet… your time has come.
She’s been cutting my hair for six years and if I can help it I will never let any other stylist touch my hair. Isaac is an artist… pure genius. She has a real eye for aesthetics, and she also spends time getting to know your particular brand of curls. She listens and responds to what you want and who you are… unlike some stylists who pretend to listen to you and then do whatever they want to do with your hair.
Before Isaac I was never much of a risk taker when it came to my hair. I always wore it tied back. My curls felt drab and unmanageable, unruly and frankly — ugly. After my first cut with Isaac I started to wear my hair down — and now I hardly ever put my curls away! Now, I can see how beautiful my hair is and I love to show it off. At this point I mostly let Isaac decide what to do with my hair and give her free reign because I always leave her studio looking AMAZING.
AND she is down to earth and incredibly fun to talk to. She is real — not caught up in the superficial fashion world. I enjoy my time with her — and always look forward to my next haircut. Which sadly is only every 6months or so because she cuts my hair in such a way that it continues to look fantastic in all of it’s growing out stages. She really knows how to give hair shape that lasts.

Isaac has been cutting my hair since 2003 and is one of the only people I’ll allow to get near my head with a pair of scissors. Unlike other posters, I have very straight, fine hair, but she somehow manages to give me cuts that maximize texture (and create some where before there was none) and don’t require daily heat styling (a big deal for me!). I always get compliments on my hair now, and have been stopped in the street several times by people wanting to know where I get my hair cut! Totally amazing, but be forewarned: it will be hard to let anyone else cut your hair once you start seeing Isaac!

Isaac is my one true stylist love. I shall remain loyal to her for an eternity to come.
After years of searching for that one ringlet magic worker, I have finally found her. Seriously folks — it took me years to embrace my curls and here I am, thanks to Issac the Girl.
I stopped in for a cut a short time ago and walked out a new girl… so much happier and excited about my fancy new du. Issac took such good time in consulting with me on what I wanted, offered great suggestions and was interested in all the sense I was NOT making with what I pictured. Per usual, I fumbled over my words. Thankfully, she knew exactly what to do with my hair!
Issac gave me a whole new cute cut, style and shape. One I had always wanted but never knew how to describe. My hair is so much more healthy looking and feeling. I’ve learned how to style, take proper care of and overall, love the curls I have. Fantastic!
One top of all of her stylist wonder, her great studio allows her to give you her undivided attention. And the décor could not be any cooler! So perfect.

A genius when it comes to cutting hair! That is what I have to say about Isaac. I have always been told by hair dressers that my hair is tricky to cut because of the way it grows and wants to lay. It is no problem for Isaac though.
She is always able to give me just the look I want, even though I never quite know what look I want. She cuts my hair in such a way so that it grows out with the same style so I don’t need another cut for almost half a year, which is great for the wallet.
She doesn’t use any chemicals, which most people over-​look as an important quality for a hair dresser. She never hides under any hair product. She is all natural, which keeps my look all natural. I love it!
I am so glad that I finally found some body who knows how to cut my hair and make me look good!

Isaac is the Goddess of Curly hair. I’ve been getting my hair cut for over a decade by her now, and I’ll never let another one’s scissors touch my hair again.
Anyone with curls knows how difficult it is to find that one person that you can trust with your locks. When you find that person, it’s a permanent bond.
Isaac has done wonders to my hair and my self esteem. She cuts my hair dry, which is very important. She only uses natural products and teaches me how to deal with my cut after I leave. Best part is, I only have to see her every 4 — 6 months, because she’s actually cutting my hair to look great several months out.
Brilliant!
Along with her mad techniques, she’s also a great personal stylist. This for me, is a serious plus, since I lack a style gene. She’s done great things for me, head to toe. Isaac has an awesome aesthetic, and she’s GREEN (i.e. into sustainable, natural, recycled products) to boot!!!
