I’m so bummed. I ordered takeout chicken tikka masala and it was horrible. The chicken was dry and the sauce was downright watery. I’ve had tikka masala at a number of Indian restaurants in the city and this was the only one I’ve found inedible. Sad to say that I won’t be back.

Looks cute from outside but food is very low quality. Spare yourself… Apparently at one time it was good.

The kati rolls are damn good. Husband ordered a karahi paneer kati roll and I got a chicken tikka kati roll, really liked the paratha wrap. The chai came with parle-g biscuits!

I was so happy Kasa was opened on New Year’s Day! Their food was delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced. I usually find Indian restaurant food to be too rich but again, everything here tasted really fresh and light! I ordered a thali plate which came with rice, veggies, flat bread, and two entrees. I decided to go with the classic and all time favorite chicken tikka masala, and their cauliflower entrée. Everything was plated beautifully which made me even more eager as we were at the cash register paying. They had a picture of chai tea in cups that read«best chai in SF» or something along those lines. That marketing worked because I totally bought into it and hey, you don’t know unless you try right? Even though it was pre-made, they didn’t let me down. It was hot, tasty, and had the right balance of spices/flavor and creaminess. Plus it was super cold so a hot beverage always is a plus. Service was great, everyone was so nice! I wish I lived closer so I could visit more frequently!

I guess every fast/healthy/clean food chain gonna be Chipotlized soon, this one is an example for Indian food.(Sorry, Panda Express is not a Chinese counterpart). A good choice for a decent amount of food — try dish combo and mango lasi, both delish. Also, be nice to the guy behind the food counter, since he is the one decide how much amount/good the quality of the food portion gonna end up within your dish. I guess they also count in the tips already when checking out, since it’s $ 1 – 2 more than what I expected.

I wanted a healthier option, and Kasa has a salad topped with their tandoori chicken. The chicken was delicious and moist. The rest of the salad was okay. I think it just had too many elements(sautéed veggies, romaine lettuce, two different sauces plus dressing, etc). The portion was huge though, so I was full afterwards despite only eating ¾ of it. I’ll probably come back to get a Kati roll next time I come here.

All the items were served luke warm. Sub par quality paneer was used to prepare saag paneer. Meat and veggie dishes were next to each other and they got all mixed up.

We ordered tonight on Postmates and eh! Out of all 3 of us, no one was a fan. The chicken masala was very fatty, red, greasy and, clearly low quality. Rice was strange tasting. Only OK thing was the Naan but can’t mess that up.

This is the worst Indian food I’ve had to date in San Francisco. I had it delivered by Caviar, and the delivery part of the equation was not the issue. It was the taste and quality of every item that came in my variety dinner plate, highlighted by bland chicken tikka masala.

Dined in and the food was cold, bland, overpriced. Don’t see the point of eating here again as there is other Indian in the area.

I had ordered delivery from Kasa from Doordash and it estimated 56 minutes before getting the food but the text message for food getting picked up was about 20 minutes later and the driver called me about 30 min after ordering. nice! Ordered a medium kati roll for chicken tikka $ 7.50 half portion chicken tikka masala $ 4.50 and 2 samosas $ 2.95. The kati roll was kinda small but had enough meat and nice flavor. A bit of kick in the end. B/c it has been a while since it was prepared, the wrap was a bit soggy. The one I had from the food cart in NYC was better. The half portion chicken tikka masala was actually a great deal! So much chicken! I ate it with the samosa b/c the samosa were not super flavorful and I needed a medium to eat the chicken with. It ended up being the perfect combo. Crispy samosa with soft potato was bland by itself but with the masala, it was a wonderful meal. I thought I wouldn’t be full b/c the kati roll was kinda small but the 2 samosas were very filling along with the tub of chicken tikka masala. Yummy food! May not order again just b/c i am visiting and there seems to be quite a few Indian options, but may give the kati rolls another chance next time i am in town and craving it; but next time, i’ll eat it right there and then!

I live very close to Kasa and eat there regularly; positive comments on the food(yes, sometimes a bit too spicy) But what bothers me is the turnover of employees: I might exaggerate slightly, but it looks like there are new people every month. Message to the manager: the way you treat your employees, reflects on the service they give to the customer… there are always going to be enough young people needing the pay and willing to accept your work conditions but asa they get a slightly better opportunity, they’ll go and you can start over again training people… Maybe you don’t care(might be even good for your tax deductions) but it shows what is going on behind the scenes in your business. Take an example in Bi-rite supermarket down the street; same employees for years, all have a sense of ownership and their service is the best. Update: Kasa’s manager replied and I drew wrong conclusions about the personnel turnover… very happy to be wrong, will continue to go there!

First– food is great. I am not a scholar on Indian food at all but we all loved it. Even our kids ate it. Nice place, cool area, good food! Now for the bad. First of all, this is more of a $$ than $. So don’t expect good prices. Seems they raised the prices from some of the reviews I saw. But that alone isn’t a big deal. Biggest issue was the lady behind the counter. She seemed to be the supervisor or manager that was working the counter and register most. She was hurried and rude and it wasn’t even busy! Since we don’t eat Indian much I wanted help deciding what to order. I could hardly hear her or understand. She made other customers wait that had questions instead of just a quick yes or no answer. If you can tolerate poor service give this place a shot. Good food.

I got 2 roti rolls and they were yummy. Very messy but yummy. Very flavorful and delicious. I had the chicken tikka masala and the lamb. I enjoyed the chicken more. I would definitely go here again but have tons of napkins with me.

Once my go-to place, so sad it has now became one of the ill flavored horrible serviced restaurants in the neighborhood :( Funny taste turkey, hard to chew on burnt chicken tika, Dal that has mostly water in it, and a salad that you can actually taste the perservative-bottled lemon juice of it. Not to mention they sometimes ‘forget’ to add the rotting bread to the thaly plate, kid’s highchairs are stored in the restrooms(eeew.) and the music, that use to be a fun background Playlist, and now is an eclectic medley, playing so loud you can’t really have a nice conversation over lunch. This one has not been my first bad experience here, but I thought a place that use to be that good should get a slave for a couple of fails. Well — we’re past that point now :(

1st draft — 7-4-2012 2nd draft — 3-3-2014 And here now… definitely a place to go to for authentic food. Just dont go when it’s close to closing time, cause the staff begins to roll out garbage, the kitchen floor mats are removed, and the stinky water runs down into the seating area. The rolls are to die for!

Delicious Indian food for an affordable price. I loved my thali plate. I ordered chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi(cauliflower and potatoes), and swapped swiss chard and kidney beans for the usual daal(lentils). Comes with rice, bread, and the sauces of your choice. Everything was so flavorful and well-spiced. Not too heavy either. Great service too! I took awhile deciding but the server was patient and helpful.

3.5 stars. Had really high hopes for Kasa, but a little bit underwhelmed. The kati roll($ 5) was delicious. It comes with a side of your choosing, cilantro-mint chutney, and other stuff(not clear what the other stuff was). I had it with chicken tikka masala. But honestly, anything wrapped in roti is bound to be pretty good. The thali plate($ 12) was a good portion size, but most of the sides tasted okay. The lentils were pretty bland. The rice was overcooked. But the roti and sides of pickled onions, pickled cabbage/veggies, tomato chutney thing, and cilantro-mint chutney were all very good. The lamb curry entrée was good with tender lamb, but it seemed to be missing a certain spice. It tasted more like pot roast than Indian food. The karahi paneer(cheese and peppers) was pretty uneventful. It wasn’t a curry like I expected, but literally just cubes of cheese and different types of peppers. I would like to try Kasa again. Maybe different sides next time.

The four stars are just for the kati roll, because I had to deal with an absurdly sassy waiter. He didn’t acknowledge us when we were at the counter when the place was completely empty at 6:30PM, and when we started ordering, he somewhat rolled his eyes. When we asked questions, he would have a snappy response. What the hell? Luckily, the food did the talking for us. I had the Kati Roll filled with Chicken Tikka Masala with the spicy sauce on the side, as well as a samosa with this delicious sauce GAH. The Kati roll being $ 5 is one thing, but it being so friggin delicious is another. Any don’t worry — spicy isn’t ridiculous. Just think… two bags of hot cheetoes-spicy. I would brave the sass to eat more of this stuff any day.
