Dr. Klompus has been my GP for nearly twenty years. None better. A good man and a superb physician.

Dr. Klompus has been my primary doctor for over 15 years. He’s great! Nice, knowledgeable, compassionate. I like him so much that even though I live in the East Bay now, I still go to him for primary care.
It can be difficult to get in to see him, but if it’s an emergency (or close to it), he’ll get you in. Once, many years ago, I called for an appointment and was told something along the lines of «the next available is 3 weeks from now» and I said (truthfully), «My heart is beating funny» and I was in within two hours.
He can be almost too gentle. I carry some extra padding, and the most scolding he’s done is to say «What are we going to do about your weight?» when what I needed to hear is «You’re too damn fat and one day you’re going to pay for it. Lose some weight before it’s too late!» (I respond well to authority figures giving clear direction).
I have needed surgery in the past and he has referred me to excellent specialists. He gives great shots! I never even felt the needle go in for one tetanus I had to get.
He is a busy doctor, and I am sure that is why his assistant is To The Point. She has a lot of calls to make and return, and she doesn’t have time for the social niceties, which isn’t why I’m calling, so her abruptness is fine by me.

Dr. Klompus is the best doctor I have ever known. And, I say that as a great pessimist and finder of any possible error made by a physician or nurse. ;o) Believe me… I have seen him in action for 10 years, getting my non-​compliant post by-​pass mom on meds that would prolong her life in a healthy way. I now see him humoring my husband into a healthy lifestyle. Joel Klompus is not only a doctor, he is a fellow human being who relates to his patient in a way that lets him see the whole person, and treat the whole person. You will be hard pressed to find another doctor, or person for that matter, who possess such skill in this age. I thank the Universe that saw fit to create such a wonderful healer, and nice person to boot.

Dr. Klompus does have a nice manner. However, he has the worst staff and he doesn’t seem to care. The staff refuses to answer phones. They even cancelled an appointment because I did not call back to say I was coming (even though they never told me I needed to do this.) They don’t return calls for days. The front desk has even claimed I did not pay. I needed to search my receipts and prove to them that I have in fact paid. No matter how good the doctor, nothing can make up for a rude, inattentive staff. Avoid him and any other doctors in this practice because the staff will make you miserable.

Joel Klompus is the most caring physician I have ever encountered.
He takes his time, listens and actually recalls previous visits.
I recommend him with the highest of praise and respect.
