Knights Inn San Francisco / Near the Presidio

I enjoy staying at this motel during my weekends. I drive a big car, and it easily fits just fine in their covered carport. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and stores which makes it a walkers paradise once parked. Conveniently located on a city bus line, which I’ve used when visiting other parts of the city where parking may be difficult. Minutes away from the Golden Gate Bridge and my personal favorite, Baker Beach. There is a handicap accessible room, which I once rented during a tight holiday weekend. Friendly staff, which has me returning week after week.

The only reason this hotel gets two stars is because it was cheap and at a convenient location for that side of the city. The room smelled and had no soap or towels. The bathroom floor was disgusting (hair, popcorn, etc.), and I was unsettled the entire stay wondering what else they’d forgotten to clean. When I wiped down the room myself, I realized it was FILTHY. The manager acted completely surprised by how bad the room was and told me he’d talk to his cleaning staff ASAP (as he brought me shredded rags they consider towels). He also proceeded to wander the parking lot and stare out his window frequently, which was a little unnerving. Lastly, the door could only be securely closed by throwing your full weight against it, and the traffic noise outside is pretty bad.

I am in shock! I have never seen customer service like this before! The worst hotel ever! I spent here 1 night, on March 23 – 24. I went to bed and start feeling something itchy all over my neck. In the morning I realized I have bites! I have red bites on neck. Besides, the previous night when we just checked in, I went to the bathroom and so huge dark hairs all oven the floor and in the pan swimming in a water. I flashed it and thought «it happened». But!!! In the morning I went to the office and told that I have bites. Long story short — two manages woman and man, they told me I’m playing with them to get a free night at the hotel, go away, we don’t have anything, if you write a bad review we will sue you. And they know where I came from and that i brought those bedbugs with me. They were yelling at me, pushing out from the office. Not mentioning the woman called me b*tch. And I’m waiting for police now

The staff is super friendly. Very well located, comfortable and cleaned bed, and room size is fair. Tv full of channels, shower is great. We found only few hair on baththub and towels. In general it worths. The owner is very friendly, but unfortunately we need to leave sooner.

booked this room on a whim, last minute, soley based on price ($ 60+tax) because we were tired and needed a place to crash. very clean, comfy bed and pillows, easy check in & owner was super friendly. a very pleasant surprise. we’ll definitely stay here next time we visit san fran. love the location too — close to the presidio, bay, and tons of wonderful restaurants within walking distance.

The hotel was one of the cheapest in the area – roughly $ 100/​night, compared to the $ 185 almost all the other hotels were charging for the nights I was looking at. The room itself was actually pretty decent, with a working AC unit and reasonably clean demeanor. It also had a larger-​than-​usual mini-​fridge, which actually fit some take-​out containers, so that was nice. The exterior of the hotel is fairly run-​down, with no elevators (I was three flights of stairs up,) so basically the type of place where you have to pick your way up the staircases trying not to step on all the folks smoking on them. The towels were probably the worst I’ve had in a hotel – yellowed and coarse – I would bring my own if I were to stay there again. Parking was ok – I was probably the last one in at least one night, and there was still a space available for me. Convenient location for the Presidio and the Walt Disney Family Museum, as long as you don’t plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel.

WARNING: This place has Bedbugs. Room #29 is where I got attacked by bedbugs and I’m miserable right now as I type from all the bites I got bitten there last night!
Staff = friendly
Location = fair– although the traffic on that main st is loud.
Cleanliness= our room was filthy. One of the pillow case had stains, no fitted sheet, carpet was stained, & sticky floor
Parking= there are only few parking spots, so you will end up looking for parking in the streets.
… And above all, we got bitten really bad by bedbugs. My face, arms, neck, shoulders, all full of bumps!
It’s worth spending a few extra bucks for a cleaner hotel. We were here during labour day weekend and they had a really good deal only to regret later.
