For years i’ve had a private playlist on my Spotify titled «songs I danced to alone in my dorm room.» I would only listen to on headphones for fear of utter humiliation if people actually knew what I was tapping my toes along to. Both then and now I remained alone when listening to these jams. And then I went to Last Nite and realized that I wasn’t alone and that in face dozens and dozens of people had danced to these very same songs in their dorm rooms in the early 2000s. Thanks Last Nite and Jamie Jams for helping me come out of the 2000s closet!

This is my go-​to dance night in all of the Bay Area. Where else can I dance and drunkenly sing along to the Exploding Hearts, Electrelane and Yeah Yeah Yeah in one night? At Last Nite! Best part about this party is that if you get on the DJ’s good side (aka follow him on Facebook), you can get in a few requests.

Jamie has been responsible for the majority of the dancing that I have done in the Bay Area in the past 7 years. I loved going to Debaser and Last Nite is the natural continuation of that party. Indie dance jams from the 00s — Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Strokes, Interpol, Liars, Gravy Train!!!, etc. Jamie provides something different and something cooler than you typically get from most of the dance clubs around here. This isn’t a shiny shirt/​heels/​gropey party, but a joyful sing-​along, sweaty, dance your heart out, occasional mosh pit party. I look forward to it every month!

Last Nite and Debaser (when they have them) are great nights out! The DJs dig deep and keep everyone on the floor moving. They are definitely nice people too. It’s a jerk-​free zone with great music where you can get your drink on, dance the night away and have a lot of fun with your friends.

This and Debaser are the best dance parties in SF.
Jamie is one of those guys who truly lives for music. The «you lose the ability to appreciate new stuff after turning 30» yadda yadda definitely doesn’t apply to him! He is a hardcore music researcher and a fantastic DJ who both has good technique and knows precisely how to entertain a dance floor without being too obvious.
If you prefer to dance to actual tunes you love vs. whatever is trendy in the house music circles this week… This is the party for you!

Do you like to dance? No, I don’t mean quietly nodding your head in the corner of the bar while you nurse your beer and idly check your phone every few minutes. I don’t mean waving your arms in the air while your feet stay firmly attached to the ground screaming «WOO!» every other song or so. I mean sweat pouring out of every pore on your body as you can’t help but throw yourself around the dance floor and sing along at the top of your lungs with your new best friends who’s names you don’t even know cause you just met them 10 seconds ago but it doesn’t matter because this song is your damn JAM and holy crap this is awesome why don’t we do this every night YEAH!
Do you like to dance like that? You should go to every single event Jamie throws.
