The receptionist needs to get fired for yanking on my arm to take my blood pressure. Very rude, rude rude. There’s two of them there. Did’nt know english but did’nt need to be rude either. Thumbs down.

Receptionist needs an attitude adjustment. The Doctor decent, I wouldn’t see them if my health is bad. I would see a real doctor. It all come down to poor office management and the girls needs to be retrain or train.

I went to see Dr. Lee because of joints’ pain. I had an episode of gout a few years ago and wonder if the pains were assoicated with uric acid deposit. I usually go to the California office but went to the Noriega office two weeks ago — regrettably. I was greeted by a very unfriendly staff. They all seem to be unhappy and do not have any enthusiasm of what they are doing. One of them was very rudely, loudly, and impatiently answering caller’s inquiries. When I was directed to the examining room, I was instructed to sit on the examination bed for her to take my blood pressure. I followed her instructions and quietly waiting for her to do her thing. When she was done, she abruptly yanked on the velcro adhesive that created a loud noise — which caught me off guard and almost a heart attack. The doctor arrived shortly but was also quite impatient — I was the last patient of the day. He answered my questions but without giving me solutions. He wrote a prescription for blood works to test my level of uric acid and also test to see if I have rheumatoid arthritics. Did the blood work the following day and called the office for results when the blood work was supposed to be forwarded back to the doctor. The person answered the phone gave me her reading of the blood work and told me everything is normal. I have no idea who she is and her qualifications in reading the report. I asked her what I needed to do next to treat my pains — the reason I went to see Dr. Lee. She said she will ask the doctor to call me. That was over a week ago. I followed up twice in asking the doctor to call me, but I am still waiting. I am very disappointed to be ignored by the doctor and the unfriendly staff. I would like to get my money back as he provided no service to me for my visit which I had to take time off work. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. I thought I gave him another chance and called again(after I wrote the above). I told the receptionist I am still waiting for the doctor’s call. She asked if I had left message for the doctor. I told her I did that 3 times. She told me my reading is normal and may have arthritics. I asked her I need the doctor to tell me what to do to treat my pains — the reason for me to see him the first place. Then she told me the doctor DOESNOTRETURNCALL and that I should make another appointment to see him. At that point I told her I will see a different doctor. I wish I can rate zero star.

I’ve been going to Dr. Stephen Lee for probably 15 years — a hella long time — and mostly at the California Street/Laurel Heights office. He’s been fabulous: he’s very knowledgeable and has a great, caring bedside manner. Better yet he has a great sense of humor and he is always willing and makes the time to really discuss and explain what is going on with you, never hustling you off with some absurd prescription or dismissing you in any way. He’s super-likeable, a really nice guy, and most of all, a very good doctor. That’s why I’ve stayed with him. One great aspect is that he(or his staff) will always try to fit you in ASAP at the last minute or in an emergency. Additionally Dr. Lee and his staff are Chinese speakers and he knows Chinese medicine. I’m not really familiar with the Noriega office staff so I can’t speak for them. But the California Street staff seems fine: professional and efficient.
