Feels like a café in a typical city in Western Europe, especially when sitting under the large Italian street scene photograph looking out the glass windows toward the intersection with a clear view of the comings and goings on 18th and Mission. Pleasant staff. Decent spanakopita, olives, and wine.

I am not easily pleased with most restaurants but this place soared in my mind and stomach. The Bruschetta plate was not only affordable but had my taste buds tantalized. This plate fed three people just enough. Completely impressed.

A cute place to grab a couple of glasses of wine(or a bottle or two) and small bites with friends! Good wine selection, tasty food, and super reasonable prices! You can get 4 giant bruschetta for $ 15 — not just 4 teeny little baby pieces of bruschetta, but like 4 pieces of bruschetta for each of the 4 flavors you pick. Lots of 4s in here. We order hummus and it came with toasty warm pita bread. You can also get a small order of olives if you check in on Unilocal!Super nice and friendly server, good music, and not overly crowded or loud so you can actually hear yourself talk. Definitely my new go to place for vino and snacks in the Mission!

Went there by chance last Saturday because we saw a free table — what a pleasant surprise! The waiter was super friendly, really nice atmosphere, food was fantastic and the wine selection was great. Will definitely come back!

Pleasant music, delicious food, tasty interesting global wine list. Just three small parties early-ish on a Saturday evening made the business feel close to empty… but in a good way. Like we had enough space to talk and laugh and spread out… $ 5 – 7 or so for 2.5 oz pours, so I made my own three pour taste. And enjoyed each one. The only hiccup was the owner’s brief hesitation honoring the check-in. But truly brief, and almost easy to overlook because his attitude was warm overall. A nice first stop before dinner, I would return.

Wow! So impressed! I organized a company holiday party for 20 guests and we had such a lovely time. Chala, one of the managers, helped me plan everything down to the minute. We reserved the seating area upstairs, and when we arrived the cheese and charcuterie plates where already beautifully arranged on the tables. All night the service was absolutely to die for; there wasn’t a dry glass in sight. Chala would regularly check in with me to make sure everything was going well, if we needed to slow down the flow of food or order more bottle of wine. Seriously, outstanding service. And I haven’t even gotten to the food yet! We basically ordered every single appetizer(yum!), same went for the bruschetta and salads. Double yum. But the cream of the crop was really the entrees. Holy PERATALASBÖREGİ and BIRDNEST. Batman! Both are a must-try. The nest is topped with some delightfully airy shredded wheat type goodness, and the pera talas was like a heavenly shepherd’s pie pocket. Yum for days. Don’t even get me started on the chocolate mousse… WELLDONE, GUYS. We walked away fat n happy :)

This is a fantastic wine bar and bistro! The atmosphere is really cozy and intimate with very friendly, attentive service. Great selection of wines and plenty of small plates to choose from that are more than enough to share. We ordered the olives, bruchetta, cheese plate, and the Pera Talas Boregi which is their signature Turkish dish… SOOOOOHEAVENLYDELICIOUS! I can’t recommend this place enough. You will not be disappointed with this little gem!

was pretty happy with this spot. according to the owner, this place has been open for about a year now and i’ve had it bookmarked given the awesome Unilocal rating! came in after work with a friend and tried their flight of red(which changes) — for only 14 bucks! amazing deal given the yummy taste and portion size. they also comp’ed a plate of olives with Unilocal check in which was sweet(other options is hummus). would come back here again after we saw the bruschetta selection that our neighbors got. menu is extensive as well!

Really friendly service and the wine was tasty! Came here in the middle of the day with a girlfriend and we had a great time sitting outside and actually basking in the(nice) San Francisco sunshine. Our server was really friendly as well. In addition, I checked in through Unilocal and we were able to get a free appetizer with the purchase of two full glasses of wine. Yay-yuh!

Just went here last night with a loud and raucous group of old friends. Service was great and, for once, we weren’t asked to stfu lol. Between the 5 of us we went through about 6 bottles of wine but, in my defense, 3 of those were consumed before I arrived lol. Love the convenient and close proximity to BAR/MUNI, makes it easy to take public transit and not risk a DUI. The wine was great, albeit a bit pricey, I don’t believe there’s anything under $ 30/bottle but they serve it appropriately and none of our choices were regrettable so the selection is superb. Though I didn’t partake, my friends had what looked like delicious bruscettas that were definitely not your standard. I can’t afford to make this a habit but it’s nice for a special occasion and quiet enough(when we’re not there lol) for a more romantic date.

I need a 10 star situation for this place! I cannot believe my lucky find! I happened to walk by the restaurant after running some errands and stopped to check out the menu. Extremely decent prices and nice wine selection. I texted my Tony and said I know where dinner will be at! On our first visit we ended up ordering the olives(delicious), ceviche(huge portions) and the 4 bruschetta combo of: Smoked Salmon, Canadian Ham, Mushroom and the Roasted Beets. Each one was better than the last. I am also really impressed with their wine choices and have loved every bottle we have ever ordered. I love the romantic feel and setting of the restaurant; very cozy. MOST importantly: the service. Wonderful, joyful, courteous, engaging and just darn right nicest people I have ever met. The owner/manager(?) has served us on our times there and always has a smile and quick to help us with anything. We’ll be back!

Good wine and great service. I came here with a girlfriend and her mom one weekend and we had a leisurely linner(between lunch and dinner?). We ordered some beautiful red wines, a charcuterie board and some wonderful bruschettas. The waiter was very attentive and helped us make some good selections. Great location and relaxed vibe, will be back!

Mixed emotions about L’emigrante. We stopped in after dinner mid-week, there were a few other diners but the place was pretty quiet. In a way it was just what we were looking for — a mellow, quick pop in to have one last glass of wine and call it a night. But, nothing much impressed me. Ambiance was so-so. The guy helping us was plenty friendly and seemed knowledgable about the wines. We split the red flight which I thought was just ok. The glasses were tiny, which was a little strange, but pours seemed decent. Other patrons seemed to be enjoying some late night bites. We didn’t eat, but the menu looked ok. Would I return? Maybe. There’s tough competition in the Mission so I won’t be running back.

The wines are tasty, the food is homey, service is good, and everything is reasonably priced. We will definitely be back. We had several fruity and flavorful red wines for $ 9 per 5.5oz pour. 2.5oz pours are available as well. * Bruschetta — $ 14 You get to choose 4 out of a list of a dozen flavors. We had kale + golden raisin, roasted beets, ricotta + honey, and mushrooms + fontina. The flavors are simple and nothing that you can’t assemble at home, but the variety and portions made this a good deal. * Vegetable lasagna — $ 18 The lasagna was herby and tasty. Our first order was partially cold in the center. After eating some of it, we asked to have the rest of it reheated, and the staff made us a new order. We would have been happy to finish the first order. The second order was warmer though not piping hot.

L’emigrante is absolutely worth every positive review it receives. You get what you see. Don’t think twice, go! You can’t say enough good about the bar, the food, the atmosphere, and most importantly, THEPEOPLE. This gem is run by the most genuine, kind, interesting, and hospitable people. Food: I’ve enjoyed every single thing I’ve tried. Famous for their bruschetta but don’t overlook everything else. My favorites: olives & smoked salmon everything. Booze: the Turkish wine is divine. Talk to the guys about what you like, they won’t let you down. Atmosphere: during the day, bright and light. So refreshing. In the evening, cozy and intimate. People: the best of the best. Bekir will take care of you. ;) 6 stars!

wandered around the mission and stumbled in after finding out the wait for Ken Ken Ramen was over 30 min. We were dubious about the menu since all items were a bit pricey and the place was empty, but we were kinda pressed for time and decided to try it out. We ordered Wine, Beer, a 3 cheese plate and a «Raw Kale» salad. The Wine was so so good. The cheese plate had high quality cheese and ample portions. The salad was piled high, very fresh, and not over dressed. Really one of the best restaurant salads i’ve had in a long while. They offered a comp olive plate when we checked in Unilocal, which was also of unexpected portion size. Great value. We shared everything and left satisfied. Clean place, nice atmosphere, great service. We were incredibly pleased at how surprisingly good this place was. We can’t wait to go back.

Cute little place I stumbled onto. I came at a very odd hour and had no trouble getting a seat in the nearly empty restaurant. 3:30PM on Saturdays is the secret. The greek salad was lovely, but they forgot the bell peppers(to be fair, I didn’t think traditional greek salads had green bell peppers, but their menu said theirs did). I also had a decent glass of cabarnet sauvignon. Not too shabby for an afternoon snack. I would totally come back here for a night with my fiancé or with girlfriends. The good: quick service, but left me alone. The bad: sat at the long table that is attached to the wall. Its pretty shallow, so if you have long arms, well, choose another seat. There are plenty.

Great wine bar in the Mission. Just down the street from Mission Chinese, it was the perfect place for girl friends to go to, to continue my friend’s birthday celebration. Good wine selection, great ambiance, and friendly people. My girl friends and I sat at the bar, and shared a bottle of Sexual Chocolate, a great choice of red wines, that was enjoyed by all of us. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of red wines! There’s plenty of space in the bar, and there’s a good amount of ambient noise, so it’s not too quiet, yet not loud. Aside from being a great place for girl friends, it’s a great place for a date or for a group of friends.
