Why did it take me so long to make it here? I decided to move here on 3÷2÷2008, I moved here on 4÷12÷2008, moved away 10/30/2009, moved back 3÷2÷2010. In that time frame, why on earth did I never go to the corporate headquarters of Levi’s? The jean company?! So anywho, my favorite importer works here and I visited a couple Fridays ago so we could have lunch. I ate in the café, so cute– Levi’s pictures everywhere, their marketing is blowing up and so so cool right now, and it’s such a laid back and comfortable vibe. They base their hiring on personality, not«by the book standards,» remember– there is no such thing as the real world! From what I have heard, it’s a fantastic work environment and everyone helps each other. That is what I want for my own business! Synergy and good vibes. We work together! That being said, there’s the AWESOME Vault with old clothing, posters, etc, l literally stepped into the past and got to see what made Levi’s what it is today. and how about that marketing? Levi’s is EVERYWHERE!

I love my jeans but had a problem so wrote a letter to the CEO. A couple months later, I still have yet to hear anything from their customer service. I’m kind of disappointed. UPDATE: Received lukewarm response letter. I guess the lesson learned is don’t buy jeans online.(heavy sigh)

Based on a very clever suggestion by a very clever person, my 501st review shall be for my favorite jean company — famous for their ubiquitous 501s.(Corny yes, but suck it.) Levi’s are one of my closest, and oldest friends. I’ve been wearing them since childhood, and I wear them still. Sure, I caved and bought a pair of designer jeans, and yeah, my butt looks cute in them, but when it comes to most of my denim pant purchases, it’s all about the Levi. The 501s aren’t necessarily my favorite fit but they have so many cuts, I don’t need to worry about being limited. I had a pair of 518s that I wore until they were threadbare and got a huge rip under my right butt cheek, and then I just kept wearing them with super long tunics. I LOVED those jeans. I would’ve been buried in those jeans. I still mourn their loss. Even after they weren’t wearable in public, I hung onto them for another month or so before I could stand to give them up. I’m currently in my other favorite pair(542s I think?) which I have never seen anywhere else since I purchased them. Their cut is kind of weird if you hold them up and look at them, but when they’re on, they fit like a glove and my sweetie once gave me the best compliment about them. Needless to say, they’re his favorite jeans too. The Levi’s stores seem to have plenty of high end options these days — I imagine to keep up with the folks who feel like any jeans worth wearing must cost at least $ 100, but don’t be fooled. You can go to any lower end department store(Mervyn’s, JC Penney’s, whatever) and get some kick ass Levi’s for $ 30 or less. In fact, the last time I was in a Levi’s store downtown, I didn’t like a single pair I tried on, which was an absolute first for me, but no big heartbreak since nothing I tried on was under $ 75. I rest easy knowing I can run out and pick up a pair on sale for $ 27.99 once these ones give up the fight, and they’ll look and feel just as awesome as any $ 100+ designer ones. There is a reason these jeans have been a San Francisco classic since 1853.
