Still open, moved to a smaller place across the street, next to Tu Lan. Great selection of fried chicken and other dishes. Not the great hood to be around, but the staff(an older Asian man) behind the counter ensures you are enjoying your meal. Awesome side dishes, macaroni and cheese, potatoes salad, mash potatoes and fresh baked biscuits. Give it a try!

I don’t get it. It’s ok. But not quite as «good» as KFC. The sides are mediocre(don’t order the corn by all means). And be prepared to be panhandled from the register while your eating. If the food was great I could forgive any number of the under-socialized. But it isn’t.

So the location only takes cash :(that sucks.(considering the location I see why) But the chicken is tasty and very well-seasoned. My Mac and Cheese needed seasoning. After applying salt and pepper it was alright. My mashed potatoes and gravy were really hot and I think that’s why they were runny. After letting them cool for 10 min and added seasoning they were alright. My meal was $ 6.69 for 2 pieces of chicken 2 sides and biscuit. Not Bad. Oh and the biscuit was not a biscuit. It was a dinner roll warmed up. My review the get«OK» from me. I will return because the chicken was good. Next time I’ll just get chicken and seasoned fries.

The fried chicken from there is different. They fry the chicken with some spice. I am just not used to eating that kind of fried chicken. I should have Unilocaled before I ordered.

It’s a pretty clean establish considering the circumstances: nestled on stinky 6th Street in SOMA/TL. The ladies who work here are very nice, but apparently their coffee menu is very out of date, as they don’t serve soy. So I had to resort to a café latte… which wasn’t too bad tasting. We came here to kill some time before our lunch spot opened up at noon. Pretty decent.

think this location is closed. they moved across the street a few doors away from pearl’s burgers. «happy donuts»($ 1+) sell chicken, and coffee too. brew:(columbian brew, 1.85 , aff…) was bland, semiharsch –2 stars. crumbs: –2.5 stars for the donuts and service.

I’ve been to this fried chicken joint a few times and if nothing else the chicken is amazing, seasoned to perfection and very juicy. I always get the chicken strips cuz I don’t like my meat touching the bone when I’m eating.(I know im a weirdo) I decided to go yesterday on my lunch break and no sooner had I mentioned it my coworkers all began giving me money and telling me their orders. We did a phone order and a half hour later I arrived. I knew to give it some time because they only have like two people working there and it always takes forever. They had moved back to the smaller place on sixth street and are no longer on market. Of course there were the usual crack heads and homeless in front, but they never bother me and being a San Francisco native I’m use to it. I get inside and tell the one person I see my order and she proceeds to tell the cook to start on my order. Now remember I called a half hour before. I’m standing there pissed asking why did you just start cooking it when I called and ordered. She does the typical asian response which is to ignore me and act like I’m invisible or not speaking to her. I guess i can’t blame her I’m black, and that’s my response when crack heads or homeless start speaking to me. But I was dressed in slacks for work and could never look like a homeless or crackhead. Either way it didn’t take the cook too long to get the food ready and I asked her for extra hot sauce and she seemed to be able to hear me all of a sudden because she put them in the bag. I enjoy their food and so did all my coworkers who didn’t have to walk down their and get the food. They always send the black chick to the shady areas lol.

On one of my many night out drinking… I met an older ‘gentleman’ who voluntarily advised me on getting a man and sealing the deal. «Put on some sexy lingerie, trench coat and roll up to his house with a bucket of Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken with all the sides! He’ll fall for your right there! That’s how you impress a man! … Don’t forget the sides because that’s being thoughtful.» While their chicken is good it’s not love at first bite. I have yet to test out this ‘trick’ but hopefully a man will be more interested in me than just my drumsticks and dirty rice. Farmer Brown’s chicken is much better.

This place is not in the best part of town. hahaha anyone who has ever been here knows what I mean. You go from regular SF to a shanty town in .0 seconds, but if you do find yourself on this side of the street, you can save the day and eat the Fried Chicken here. It is seasoned amazing. The chicken strips are awesome. The fies are good. Legit good chicken. I sort of miss it right now just reviewing it.

After partying the night before, we were craving some good ol’ fried chicken. My boyfriend found that this place had some good reviews on Unilocal so we decided to check it out. This place is located at a corner and easy to find but beware it is in an extremely sketchy area. It was scary at 11:30am so I highly recommend not dropping in after dark. With that aside the food and prices really good. We paid $ 22 for the 8 piece dinner combo(2 of each piece of chicken, 2 large sides, 4 biscuits) and 2 large drinks. The fried chicken pieces were a good size, well seasoned and juicy. The biscuits were soft and fresh. The macaroni was okay and mash potatoes with gravy reminded me of KFC, nothing special. Service was pretty quick but she charged me for two drinks when I guess I didn’t specify I only needed one. Also, I ordered Sprite, not Coke. This place does sell donuts, coffee and sandwiches as well. The chicken was good but I’m not sure if its worth risking my life for another round…

wow, the chicken here is top notch! I had the 2 piece meal that came with a soda plus a side dish of my choice(there’s a lot to choose from!) total was under $ 7. The seasoning was perfect! I also enjoyed the juicyness of the meat and the crispy skin. This place also sells donuts! I tried the rainbow sprinkle one, which cost .90 cents, and it’s not that bad! i would definitely visit again

At first, I didn’t even know this was a chicken place. I walked right by it and only saw the Donut World sign. Under that sign — Hamburgers. I decided I wanted a burger. I walked in confused. Fried chicken on the menu? No sign of a burger? Vietnamese workers? It was really starting to look like a bad idea. It wasn’t. THECHICKENHEREISAMAZING! The meat was juicy and the skin was crispy — STAR! The biscuit was soft and fluffy — STAR! The Mac and Cheese was creamy and not powdery — STAR! Vietnamese people breaking stereotypes and making bomb soul food — STAR! It is located on 6th st, so it’s a little sketch. But hey, it’s the beginning of 6th and the entrance is on Market.

For the foodies who love their extra crispy KFC chicken, listen up: you gotta make a stop at this place! I had to take mine To-Go but I am enjoying this chicken so much that I had to start my review while I was eating it. capturing the flavor notes live. Note: I got the breast and wing — just meat for $ 4.37 — meat is still piping hot after a 3.5 block walk in the cold — crispy skin is not greasy(they must fry it at super high temperatures) — each bite brings out more of the marinated chicken meat flavor, o so good incorporated with the spicy fried skin — just finished and I can confirm that they use lean chickens! Establishment notes by memory — friendly cashiers and decently clean establishment — plenty of pots of house brewed coffee — ATM machine right when you walk in — might be a cash only shop The hot sauce(with a bit of tang) is actually kind of watery so not really necessary unless your thirsty… hah j/k

There is a reason why I haven’t written a review for this place… it is one of my favorite spots to get awesome spicy fried chicken, and I wanted to keep it all to myself. This review is definitely just for their amazingly JUICY and great flavored chicken. Sure, you may think it is not a 5-star type of chicken… but I attach fond memories on my first time sinking my teeth into this delicious, hot, spicy, and almost-sinfully-addicting fried chicken. There was a sing-along viewing of R. Kelly’s Trapped in the Closet, Chapters 1 – 22 + Special Features that was being held at the Mezzanine some January back in ’08, hosted by the San Francisco Film Society. I was running late but was feeling my stomach cursing me for not feeding it yet after a long day at work… this… rainy Friday evening in January. As I round the corner on 6th and Market… the smell of freshly fried chicken wafted into my nose. Damn. My mouth started salivating. Okay, I need to go in here quick. I needed to eat. I ordered two leg pieces, a wing, and a breast but I had them wrapped to go. I said… just a little ways, I just gotta get into the venue… and then I’ll eat my chicken. When I finally got in the sing-along… some dude who was hocking his bacon popsicles gave me a free pop. I set it to the side. I opened my paper bag, parted the yellow paper wrapped chicken, took a leg, and… WOW. The rest of the evening was mad entertaining, even shared a piece with a friend, and I was so glad to have made a new discovery — LFC’s fried chicken. From then on, I hyped the place up to my friends… Needless to say, 95% of my friends love this place. Nevermind the hobos, crackheads, random albino dudes, drag queens, etc. who go here… their continued patronage is just testimony that this place is legit! Today, it’s been over a year since I had some LFC. On my way to downtown, I noticed that the original LFC closed, but moved to the corner of Market and 6th, inside the old Donut/Deli place at the corner. I asked the Khmer lady who works here if they have a different owner. She said they have the same owner, but now, they also sell donuts! Chicken and donuts. DonKen. DonChicks. ChickDos. ChickNuts. Nice combo. I ordered a chicken leg, asked for extra hot sauce on the side. Once I tasted it, all the memories came back — enjoying the Trapped in the Closet sing-a-long, late night dinners with friends at the old location, with brown-bagged brewskis from the nearby likkasto… Friendships were certainly strengthened over conversations and just pure laughter that added to the experience of eating at LFC… at one point, I even exclaimed that I prefer this chicken over Ad Hoc’s spicy fried chicken… *gasp* some friends may think that is blasphemous… they have their favorites. I have mine. =8)

I wasn’t expecting much given where it was but at the same time, the divey-ness also gave me hope that it could potentially be amazing. Alas, Louisiana Famous Fried Chicken is nothing but an also ran as far as fast-food fried chicken goes. Church’s has it beat by a mile. The chicken is alright and will more than suffice if you have a fried chicken craving but the sides disappoint. The mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and collards lacked flavor. If you think about it, the sides are what complete a down-home fried chicken feast which unfortunately made this meal below par.

I can’t believe this place doesn’t post any information about whether it’s local/organic/sustainable… psych! Of course I came to this 6th Street establishment with appropriate expectations. I figured if any place in San Francisco was to have good, inexpensive fried chicken it would have to be here! Sadly it was neither. An 8 piece meal for almost $ 20? At that price, no wonder why they weren’t trying to accept that crackhead’s stolen hair dryer as payment! Fried Chicken: Somehow«Extra Soggy» doesn’t have the same pull as the Colonel’s «Extra Crispy». Maybe it was a victim of too much time under the heat lamp, but I wasn’t about to wait around 6th Street for a fresh batch. There was a spicy kick, but not nearly as nice as Popeye’s. Biscuits: These should be renamed dinner rolls with a biscuit shaped top. Perhaps they give you butter packets because there is nothing buttery or bisucity about this biscuit? Mac & Cheese: Their best selling side according to the worker. If that is the case, I’m afraid to taste the rest. Way too soft pasta with a dry cheese sauce that makes Velveeta look good. Mashed Potatoes: Passable if covered in gravy. Very soft without texture, just like the box stuff.

I love that the menu here is simple — I’m one of those people that never knows what to get. ANDTHECHICKENISSODELICIOUSANDJUICY… CONSISTENTLY! I only get dark meat. They also put raisins in the cole slaw, which makes me even more happy. I have no complaints about the food… But if I could take half a star off for the location I would, because the truth is that I refuse to venture the bad part of downtown and pick up food here by myself. I wish they would deliver to me. And accept credit cards!

Damn you Showdogs! what kind of Hot Dog joint closes at 8pm? Do you realize the monetary potential you have with the theater and concert goers in the area? well instead I headed over this fried chicken prison cell(yes it’s like going into a penitentiary or drunk tank) hangin with various riff raff and crack shmokers. Why is it that everyone starts with«Can I ask you a question?» here? «Oh you dont want food? then go away. I offer to feed you and you scoff at me. like Im going to give you money!» Anyways, it’s their loss as the fried chicken is pretty good. Not pretty surroundings but pretty fine fried foods. The fries were also well done. They do sure know how to fry stuff here, did I mention that? Dont be scared of people«wanting to ask you a question» and grab some fried chix and stix if you so have the craving.

— Tastes better than it looks. The chicken pieces on display look dry, but the meat is moist inside. — Definitely better when freshly made, than those chicken pieces that have been sitting under the heat lamps for hours. — Macaroni & cheese side is pretty good. — Biscuits«look» pale and dry, but are soft. — Both Jollibee & Popeye’s Chicken are better. — Only a few seats available. — Prices are slightly high for this area. Specially when compared to the few cheap taquerias nearby. — Less than stellar location. Many weird looking patrons & homeless in the area.
