I am from New Orleans and consider myself a seafood snob. I was pleasantly surprised how amazing the food and service was! We started off with an assortment of each oyster on the menu they were all so very fresh and I really liked the fresh grated horsie sauce. Bloody Mary was one of the best ever!!! Then we had the clam chowder(OFFTHECHAINAMAZING best EVERRRRRRRRR) and split the oyster sliders… I wish I could eat there everyday! This is a MUST stop when coming to San Fran! Our waitress was outstanding the seating out on deck really added to the experience. LOVETHISPLACE!!!

I took some customers here for a lunch… eating outside on a sunny day on the patio is definitely recommended as the view is great and there is something about eating on the water! The locale drove me to order Fish & Chips. a personal favorite of mine and I found them nice and crunchy, but the portion was small — I was still hungry when I was done eating and the flavor was average but nothing memorable.

KMR, in my opinion, is one of the better locations for a party I’ve ever been to. I came here for an 18+ rave last night and the space was great. No bathroom lines(and pretty well kept considering the event), always had water available, and the staff was pretty friendly(althought it was very entertaining to spot the undercover security.) The view from the patio is pretty phenominal I must add. Although my experience was great I can see how others might have different views depending on the event and how crowded it is. The venue is pretty spacious for a club and luckily the event I went to wasn’t crazy packed. Overall it’s a pretty awesome space in my opinion!

A most terrible place for clubs! The floor where the DJ is mixing is extremely narrow. When the club gets packed it’s almost impossible to get from one side of the room to the other. The bar on that floor is almost hidden in the corner. Also it’s in the middle of nowhere… by some warehouses near the water. If you come late you have to park way down and walk the gravel to the waiting line. The walk of heel-ruining! I had to come here for an event my org was throwing, but that’s really the only reason why I would come back. It’s the kind of club you go to when you are between 18 and 21.

Ugh. No. I can’t speak for the other nights, but Saturday night is NOT what’s up. It reminds me why I don’t go to clubs anymore. When I have gone, we have trouble with the bouncers even though we’re on the guestlist. WTF? You don’t want a bunch of hot ass girls in your club? I could do without their snarky attitudes. I really could. I can understand them giving attitude to a bunch of 21-year old loud-mouthed divas but I can assure you my friends and I fall into the mature grown-ass woman category. Security just treats everyone the same, I guess. It takes forever to get a drink at the bar but at least the bartenders are nice. Positives about this place: Lots of parking, spacious deck where you can cool off and enjoy your drink. The music is also good — Top 40s, pop and hip hop. Now that I think of it, I don’t think this place has changed over the years. But I have. And I guess I just don’t see the attraction anymore.

The location is cool. It’s a bit on the grungy side. I’ve only been to the 18+ events. It’s just okay. I’m not sure how it is for other events. I don’t think this place opens on a weekly basis, as in for non-events also. What sticks out? –The waterfront. Nice view(Bad smell) –It’s roomy. –Always a long line. The security guards were not always friendly even to civil people like me.(I never try to cause anything ever) –I swear they check IDs hella slow or something because the line seems to never move. Or they could be making it seem like it’s a happening club by making the illusion of a long line. Who wants to wait in the cold with the stinky air for 20 – 30 minutes?

Reviewing the club only… The security at this joint are the most unprofessional and idiotic pieces of humanity to walk this earth. I was wearing a Chelsea FC jersey and was told I had to take it off or put a jacket on… I took the long walk back to my car and put a jacket on… went back to the club only to be told to take off my jacket so they could see what was underneath… i told them they knew what was underneath… he asked me if i was trying to start something… me and my friend turned around and walked away…

Club review: Came here for the Party Chef’s Halloween Party and I have to say it’s a great venue for a club. Plenty of dance floor, two levels(although I feel bad for the downstairs DJ because nobody was there), and a great outdoor area overlooking the water to chill. Music for the most part is pretty good. There are some hiccups and inconsistencies, but you can’t please everyone. Drinks are about what you expect from a club-expensive. One complaint I have is the parking. The only parking available is street parking for a very long distance and while there aren’t any other businesses around competing for parking, the street fills up FAST and a good deal of the parking is only until 2:01AM. This means if you stay at the club until closing, there’s added stress from the potential parking ticket and the police are definitely around for it. Good venue if you come early and leave early. Maybe I’ll come back for the café but judging by the reviews… maybe not.

The line to get in was beyond atrocious and the $ 30, plus shitty ass 18+ Lovefest event I went to was even more of a nightmare. The security(especially one in particular) was a complete douchebag, and homophobic towards me. All I can say is after 1 hour here«I was like» let’s go!

The Good: — Free water — Nice view of Mission Bay — Relatively nice bouncers/security guards — Only $ 2 for coat check The Bad: — Lighting was weak — Located in the middle of bumfuck no where making it hard to get a cab — Got about 4 drinks spilled on me The Ugly: — Someone fell off the balcony and had blood coming out of his head at 2am. They still continued the event. — All the bathrooms were flooded! Shit and piss everywhere. — 2 inch long screws sticking out randomly from walls. So dangerous. BF totally cut up his back from it.

I’m writing for the club Kelly’s Mission Rock. I think this is it. I like the place and setup. It’s rightt next to the water, which gives a reallyy cool atmosphere. You can just walk outside if it gets too hot, you have a lot of room to walk around the porch and look at the ocean. And there is an upstairs and downstairs, the floor’s a bit too small and crowded for my liking, but since there’s two floors that makes it a little better so you can walk around. But the drinks were NASTY as F*CK. I asked for a «peach-flavored» drink and another fruity drink. The first one didn’t taste like peach at all! The second one was fckin green and nasty! And they both tasted the same — SUPERNASTYLIKETYLENOL! and too strong. THUMBSDOWN for the bartender — like 1.5 star. But the price was okay. like 6 bucks. but still ugh.

I’ve been to Mission Rock Café twice now in the past three years. One time was on New Years eve and the other time — was for Breakfast of Champions. As an actual space — Mission Rock is something special. I believe that any venue that overlooks the Bay/water is unique and something to be marveled at. Being that close to nature — and looking out across the moon-lit water –is a San Francisco luxury. An opportunity for endless treasured moments. But as a club — MIssion Rock always seems to be slightly out of their element. Maybe it’s because I’ve only visited on crazy — higher than volume — nights/days — but there always seems to be something a little off about the place. Whether it be out of order bathrooms — or just a strange disoriented and cold vibe in the place — Mission Rock is hit or miss for sure. That being said — like any space in the city — the crowd and music largely determine one’s night and thoughts about it. What Mission Rock Café lacks as far as organization and bathroom facilities — they make up for — with size, a decent sound system, and a variety of different rooms and levels — to accommodate a variety of music and diverse crowds. It had proven to be an epic after-party spot for bigger concerts and events in the city, especially with its late night hours and location. It has the capability to rock and rage — with gusto well into the night. Big score. Being away from foot traffic and public transportation — Mission Rock has to be a destination spot. You don’t just stumble on this place. You seek it out. So if you’re going to make the trip out here — study up on the night. Really dig into the music and the crowd(something which can be hard to determine from a flier or online calendar), and be prepared to wait awhile for a cab if you decide to leave early… Trust.

I went here for the Thriller rave on Friday and it was pretty rad. =) There is an outside patio/dock area where you’re literally right on the water, it’s so beautiful and refreshing! Definitely great when you need a break to cool down and get away from the heat inside the building. The different levels made is nice, you can mix it up and don’t end up just standing in one spot all night. The view from the upper level is so nice… big windows overlooking the bay. =) Not sure how the food is because the café section was closed at the time. I didn’t see a parking lot but we easily found parking on the street, didn’t have to walk far at all. Lots of fun, cool people no stupid drama and from what I’ve heard it’s usually really cheap to get into events here. The building style/design [inside and outside] is pretty cool and unique. Definitely a place to check out when you’re bored on a Friday night!

I came here for a casting call event that included rotating DJ’s spinning, models getting photos taken and a cat-walk audition. I liked the architecture(industrial) and the view of the Bay was incredible. I hear that the patio area isn’t normally opened very long, but we got some special treatment for whatever reason. I sat on one of the leather sofas out there and was surprised to find that it was warm — strategically positioned underneath a heat lamp! Clever. This place was a little small for a night-club, but it reminded me a lot of my raver days(all of about 6-months-worth) back in St. Louis. Three stars for incredibly cheap(but well-made) drinks. Fabulous event, thank you, Madi! Mai, I’ll see you on June 12th… Sonny… I look forward to those pictures, yo.

This review is for the club. 10PM to 8AM although I stumbled out at around 5. The crowd was hippyish and unconventional. I liked that. I also loved the outdoor dance floors. The thing is, the main indoor dance floor was pretty small. And it was rectangular in shape so you can’t really spread out around the front. you’re either way too close or way too far. The speakers and lights are only in the front so near the back you don’t get the full experience. I wouldn’t go back here but if you’re into that«Mighty Club» kinda«Burning Man» crowd then this place is for you. I think I actually prefer something a little less grungy myself. Lots of outdoor smoking. Weird belly dancers. Potheads. You get the gist of it I’m sure.

Nightclub review only: I used to really like this place — and it just went downhill. I have been to this place maybe 20+ times and each time got worse and worse. I don’t know what happened. The line gets held for WAYYYTOOLONG every time and for NOREASON at all. The bartenders suck and the bouncers are so rude. Also, the music is just OK. It all just isn’t worth it anymore.

I came here for Brazilian Night on Sunday with my token Brazilian. Theo wanted to expose me to the music and the style of dancing but still make it a chill and early night. Mission accomplished at the Mission Rock. Besides being in BFE, this place is pretty cool since it’s on the waterfront. However, the sound system isn’t all that although the particular bands we saw made up for it and I give them an «A» for effort. It was a really relaxed feeling party with a positive vibe. I will say that I was probably the ONLY non-Brazilian there though LOL. Which is okay because my Brazilian wax totes makes up for it!

Late lunch on a Wednesday, with mom, on a sunny day outside above the wharfs and Bay waters. Enjoyed the Ahi Tuna on Salad(with Bull’s Blood greens giving it spice!) and the Cuban Pork Sandwich on Greens. Both nicely executed, tasty and fresh. Mission Rock service went out of their way, it was excellent, personal and outstanding; thanks, Kate! The Espresso was generous, and thoughtfully accompanied by a curly, zesty lemon rind. All together the perfect lazy lunch in post-industrial surroundings, quiet and unhurriedly. We’ll be back for sure; the brunch looks very tempting…
