This is a great event space. Very well laid out big open space. Nice for paying our respects to a great artist Rene Garcia Jr.
The staff was friendly and art on this particular day was amazing because it’s Renée’s. The New Black can accommodate a lot of people and there is a nice outdoor area as well for possible movie screenings etc.
The bathrooms were clean. There is plenty of parking in the area, at least that night.
This is a very hip location and a great event space!

This rating is for a conference after party that rented out the place.
Went for a conference after party #distill14. It was a cool venue — had the feel of an underground basement/​warehouse club/​lounge/​bar. (Like a U Street bar in DC). Has pretty artwork around the building. Service was excellent and cute bartenders and kind coat service lady. DJ was ok.
I give it 4 stars because I liked the atmosphere, but I really would need to go back one more time when it is a normal night out.
