I changed to a medical group based in San Francisco since I wanted to have access to a UCSF surgeon last year. I chose One Medical Group as my PCP. So far, I’ve seen them twice, once for an unfortunate case of poison oak, the second for my annual physical. They kindly waived the annual membership fee($ 149) after I balked at it. The first thing I’ve noticed is there is not one non-Millennial working there. As someone in the Gen X group, it was a bit unnerving to have my doctor look to still be her 20’s. Mind you, the clinicians I’ve had are incredibly nice, intelligent, and thoughtful. No one here appears jaded from years of work stress, failed relationships, raising children, death of loved ones. But the whole atmosphere strikes me as a rerun of Logan’s Run(Millennials will have to look up that movie) –lol. Over 30 and you’re out of there! It’s an amazingly efficient organization. You never wait for over 5 minutes. They validate parking at the Embarcadero 4 location and there is a pitcher of water with glass cups available(love that they don’t use plastic!) I think I’ll stay with One Medical. I just have to get over feeling like the«old person» :-)

I recently moved to SF for a new job. I asked around at work to see if anyone could recommend a new doctor. A coworker pointed me toward One Medical Group. At first I was hesitant to pay for a membership fee for medical care when I have full-coverage insurance. However, after experiencing One Medical Group firsthand, I’m sold. It was easy for me to obtain a convenient appointment within days of calling. This particular location has a wonderful, modern, and serene lobby. My wait was minimal and I was able to see my primary medical practitioner(in my case she’s a PA) right on time. The visit was painless, efficient, and thorough. About a week after my visit I came down with a common ailment. I called the office to see if I could get in sooner than later after describing my symptoms. They explained that since it was not serious I could talk to a nurse over the phone and they could order my prescription! I sincerely appreciated this– it saved me time off from work and a copay visit fee. My prescription was available for pickup at a drugstore in my neighborhood that same day. I’m a big fan of streamlined and efficient health care!
