I brought my mother’s pearls in to be restrung, so that my daughter can wear them on her wedding day. My mom had them restrung many years ago by another, large pearl jewelry store, but they did a terrible job and were unwearable. I contacted Pearl Lounge, due to all the excellent reviews on Unilocal.Yuko was really wonderful to work with and she did a beautiful job restringing them. In order to make the necklace the length that my daughter wanted, there were some pearls left over, so she made them into beautiful earrings. Yuko even made a special trip in to SF during the Bart strike so that we could pick the necklace & earrings up, since I live in Sonoma County and had made arrangements to take a day off of work.

I had a wonderful experience at the Pearl Lounge yesterday. I brought in some old, inexpensive pearls to be restrung and ended up purchasing a beautiful South Sea pearl necklace, which I just love and haven’t taken off since! The owner Yuko is wonderful, and just the type of business person I enjoy dealing with — honest, low key, artistic, very helpful and accomodating. If you are a pearl fan like me, definitely worth a vist. This is a great place to find a beautiful gift for others — or yourself!

I had a pearl bracelet restrung and resized for my niece. Yuko had very good suggestions about the design options that would meet my price-​point and even did some research after we met that helped ensure the bracelet was sized correctly. I’m very pleased with the result. The price was reasonable and the job was done promptly.

I got a Groupon for Pair of Pearls. I really wasn’t sure what I was getting into specially since its a private jeweler.
It was time to pickup some pearls from them since my girl friends b-​day was coming up. As I was speaking with the owner, Yuko, she said that she picked each pearls by herself, her selection was great to choose from. She pulled out a few different earrings for me to lock at plus necklaces when I pointed out. Some looked like some kind of art pieces. They were elegant, the others chic and sophisticated. I stayed there good amount of time like almost one hour, chatting with her, having her trying them on which she did not mind. She showed me how to select pearls and I felt more comfortable knowing that she wants me to know what I’m getting, I got good knowledge for that. I get scared easily with sales people in general but she was very friendly and subtle whole time, so I didn’t feel pressured! Finally, I got the pearl earrings for my girl friend which were ten times better than the website picture and my girl friend loves them. They are not to small or big, just the right size, 7 mm. Then she gave me a 30% discount coupon for the next purchase. I have recommended her to two of my other friends as well. She is the best!
I recommend that you make an appointment since her store is small.

The Pearl Lounge is a fantastic little jewel box of a shop/​store in the Shreve Building. The owner, Yuko, is a doll and has a fantastic eye for design. I didn’t purchase anything, but her creations were gorgeous and looked to be very well priced for the quality of the workmanship and the quality of the stones and pearls she used.
Yuko restrung my pearl necklace and added some little crystals to extend the length of the necklace by about 1.5″. I had wanted to add more pearls, but she declined since the pearls she had didn’t match the color and lusture of my necklace, which is about 30 years old. We came up with the idea of adding some crystal beads at the back, right by the clasp, and they look fantastic. My pearls look gorgeous and again, the workmanship is superb.
Highly recommended and very well priced.

Yuko did great work stringing some pearls for me, including accommodating my odd request for a ribbon closure instead of a traditional one on my traditional pearl necklace. I’ll definitely return to her the next time I have jewelry stringing needs.

I needed someone to restring a broken strand of beads and I found that and much more in the Pearl Lounge! After having a few necklaces restrung there I fell in love with some of owner/​designer Yuko Daigen’s original designs; unusual, artful beads, and traditional beads of precious and semi-​precious materials strung in beautiful ways to make a real statement (incl. necklaces, earrings, bracelets, etc.). She’s taken a dated old necklace I had, asked about what I liked and how I might wear it, and proposed several designs to update it and make quite a unique, wonderful piece; can’t wait until it’s finished! Yuko is surprisingly affordable for the quality of materials and work, is creative, collaborative, fast, and trustworthy. I’ve been back four times now and recommend her highly.
