Chris is a really good master.
He is friendly and provides great feedback, motivates and tutors effectively
He is also very flexible in timing and paces the classes based on individuals learning style.
I would recommend him strongly for learning percussion instruments.

Christian is great to work with.
He and his band [played a special event for me an about 80 of my closest friends.
They absolutely killed it. The music was perfect, and set a great tone for the evening.
Christian is professional and easy to deal with. He took great care to make sure all the details were covered, without needing me to point him or direct him anything.
Totally great experience.
I will absolutely hire him again.

Christian is a terrific drum teacher. Very tapped into his individual student’s needs and very flexible around scheduling. He even came to our place for drum pad practice when we couldn’t make it to the studio! I highly recommend Christian and genuinely respect his dedication and positive attitude. He’s fantastic with teens!

Getting taught personally by a Grammy award winner? Sign me up. And I did. I wanted to learn the congas but my fear was that I would only get as good as the average drum circle participants near Lake Merritt. While I appreciate their enthusiasm, I wanted to sound… um…better. So I contacted Christian. While I’ve only just started, I feel that I’m already on pace to get to the level that I aspire to… somewhere in between Grammy award winning and Lake Merritt drum circle. But more toward the Grammy award winning part of the spectrum.

I walked into my first lesson with Christian having never touched a drumstick or kit in my life. On top of that, my mom has given me a hard time my entire life for absolutely lacking the «keep a beat» chromosome. In just a few lessons, I went from inept to «really not bad», and almost 6 weeks later, I can hold my own on kit. Christian is incredibly patient, knows seemingly every drummer in every genre, and – most important – constantly reminds you that you’re there to have fun and do something really cool. If you’ve ever wanted to learn to drum and had any doubt in your head whatsoever, go see him, even for just one lesson, and you’ll be drumming away in no time.

I have taken many lessons for various skills and sports in my life, and Christian is one of the best instructors I’ve had. He is patient, knowledgable, and can diagnose what you’re doing wrong very quickly. He is very encouraging and makes the lesson fun.
I’ve had three lessons so far (without having any previous rock drum experience), and I think I already have a good feel for how to play the drums (I have a long way to go, of course).
I recommend you video the exercises that he wants you to do, and come back and practice by yourself in the studio ($ 20 for 2 hours). He will make sure you understand the exercise and is deliberate while your are videoing to make sure you have it right.
Christian is also great at following up after a lesson to make sure not too much time elapses between lessons, and he also sends videos of professional drummers to help in your learning.
Christian is a wonderful teacher and very kind person.

Christian is a very patient, supportive and engaged teacher. I had never had a drum lesson in my life. I was starting from how to hold the stick. Through Christian’s instruction I have progressed slowly but surely. If I don’t understand something or I can’t coordinate my mind and hands, he finds another way to explain or another way for me to learn.
