It’s a small little restaurant next to the credit union and has a huge tree blocking it’s signage. lol. No worries. The menu is small. but typical for a phở restaurant. You got your sizes small and large. Their bean sprouts have been boiled before they serve it to you. Whoaaa, that’s a first. o_o“ I got the bun rieu and it was definitely flavorful. I was craving something that wasn’t like chicken or beef. So I got the bun rieu(shrimp, crab grounded together). I was impressed. The soup apparently was also very good too. A little salty, but definitely good. Beef phở and chicken phở are a go. My parents liked their dishes. I think it might be run by a family? Not too sure here. but it feels very homely? Is that even the right word? o_O” lol

A small hole in the wall restaurant with few people inside during lunch time is usually not a good sign. Initial impressions of the place is pretty low, but they were wrong. The beef phở was pretty okay, which blew away my low expectations of the place. Never judge a place by it’s appearance. The broth was pretty tasty and had a decent amount of beef. Service was nice and the phở came out pretty quick. It was cheap and decent lunch.

Oh lord WHATHAPPENED?! phở ga — yes. bun rieu — NO. where did all the flavor go?! and where was all the tomato?! bun bo hue — stay away. my youngest brother picked this spot and he is never allowed to ever again.

The place is ALWAYS empty. This is really no indication to how good or bad the food is. The Phở is more flavorful than before and we’ve discovered the Vietnamese style chicken salad they serve. It’s yummy and crunchy. I gotta stick with my 3 star review though because of my dad. The last 3 times we have gone, they«ran out» of Banh Cuon. And let me tell you, he was pissed! It was kinda funny but he had a point. Only a few Vietnamese restaurants in the area(maybe city) make good banh cuon and if you’re looking for business(which I know they are), make more!

I visited this place in complete reversal of my lunch & coffee routine. I was in the mood for Bun Rieu, but changed my mind and ordered the Phở Ga Chat instead. The large bowl featured your usual lemon, jalapeño slices, cilantro and bean sprounts on the side. The steamed chicken meat was placed on a separate dish, along with a semi-sweet savory sauce. The large bowl had good/tasty/clean broth, and ho fun noodles. I devoured it in record time. It’s a nice family operation. I would eat here again when in the neighborhood.

A hole-in-the-wall in need of some love. We wandered here one night in search of some cheap and yummy Vietnamese food. I will say that my heart was set on some grill pork, egg rolls, and bun… yet ironically I wound up at a place that didn’t have that. So in my need of food and the fact we had already sat down, I opted to stay with the hubby and give it a try. I am so glad we did! One thing I love about Mom-and-Pop shops is that you get to see Mom and Pop. Literally they were the ones cooking and bringing us our meals, which was chicken phở and a fried pork chop. They were cute and courteous and brought us delicious food. The second thing I love about Mom-and-Pop shops… they feed you like your own family. As in, they gave us MASSIVE amounts of food! The phở came out first and was pretty generous, but my pork chop was HUGE! Two very large pieces(mostly lean meat and not fat) along with rice and veggies and soup. Both dishes were flavorful and were under $ 10 bucks each. The place is clean. Relatively small. Had a TV with the game on. Easy to park. I wouldn’t make an extra effort to drive out here, but if you’re in the neighborhood and want some basic Vietnamese fare then definitely get your butt here! NOTE: The menu is outside, so definitely check it out before going in.

This place deserves a little more recognition. It’s good Phở! It’s a shame how everytime I come here the place is so empty. But that’s good for me, I guess. I usually get the Bun Bo Hue and it has never failed me. Ton of meat. which I don’t eat anyway but it’s good to know that they give it to you. The soup is delicious. Not too spicy where you can’t even taste the flavor, but just spicy enough to have you grabbing a tissue in between bites. It also comes with a side of shredded lettuce/bean sprouts/jalapenos/lemon/the usual. Sucks that the store is so hidden. you’d pass by without ever noticing the store. Also sucks that they only accept cash. But hey, most Asian places around the area also only accept cash. so can’t complain.

I came here because I in the area and needed phở to cure my cold. This place had decent reviews so I took the chance I felt like it was overplayed. The place was nice, clean, and had cute décor. The menu was much smaller than most phở places and wasn’t very descriptive. I usually get chicken noodle soup, but when I ordered it, I didn’t know it was a thick noodle. It took a while for the food to come out, our spring roll appetizer came after our soup, and THEN the water came out. As nice as the staff was, I felt neglected which is strange being that WEWERETHEONLYCUSTOMERSINTHERE. Definitely not coming back.

Food came out fast! Their menu is simple, which is nice. I ordered the small chicken phở. I asked for no cilantro, but I found a few inside my bowl. I guess they’re so used to throwing it in that they forgot. My mom ordered the grilled BBQ pork chop. It was tasty and not dry. The spring rolls were fresh, but the peanut sauce that came w/the dish was bland. The ice coffee was good as it was not overly sweetened with condense milk. I give them two stars for putting in cilantro into my soup! Otherwise, this place is decent if you’re craving phở.

A typical Vietnamese restaurant in the middle of the Sunset district. Their menu is very simple and the price is nice. We went with two dishes: 1. Hai nan chicken with phở noodles — The meal is served with the soup and chicken on the side with a bowl of phở. Simply pour the soup into the noodle bowl and enjoy! The chicken was decent. Helpful tip: You can ask for just chicken thigh(aka dark meat aka better cut of meat) and they won’t charge you more. 2. Special Beef Noodle — Very typical phở dish. My favorite part would have to be the beef balls, which tasted great. Everything else was okay. There’s a bit too much MSG in the broth, which I definitely tasted after the meal ended. Helpful tip: This meal comes with a complementary cup of Thai Ice Tea for those who care for it. I did not want it, so I can’t comment on it too much. Service is pretty good. Given it’s a Wednesday at lunch time, it had a decent amount of people but our waiter was still prompt and helpful. Overall, an average place to go. Not awful but nothing sticks out either. 3 stars

I just noticed this new place when I was driving so I decided to pay it a visit. As expected, since it’s a grand opening, it was a bit empty. The fact that it was not rush hour contributed. Empty as it was, everything was clean. I wasn’t able to check the restrooms(I usually do). There’s a flat screen with volume actually on showing Judge Joe so I was able to be entertained watching some loser being sued for totaling some poor sap’s car. The menu is extremely simple. Consists of 1 page 2 sides, each side having around 10 items with pictures. I’m assuming the target audience is not for white people, because half the item’s name is in pure Vietnamese. At least there’s a picture. But then again, this is in Sunset… I always order a Phở Tai whenever I come to a new Vietnamese restaurant. A large one cost $ 6.95, which is pretty damn cheap. The basil leaves were fresh, but the bean sprouts were already cooked. The lemon slice had juice =] The Phở was WONDERFUL. I always compare all Vietnamese phở I buy from Kevin’s Noodle House @ 19th /Irving and Tay Giang in Noreiga. This one is easily comparable, in fact, I would say even better than Kevin’s Noodle House. I also ordered a Thai Tea. It wasn’t overly sweet, and was actually thirst quenching, so I was satisfied. In all, I’d seriously give this place a 5⁄5. This place tops Kevin’s Noodle House in terms of Phở, and is comparable vs Tay Giang. The waiters were also pretty friendly and willing to you if you’re willing to talk to them. Come here, I know I’ll be bringing some friends here soon =]

Good service, decent décor, clean plates & utensils, and a very clean bathroom. As for the food, I came with the family, and tried their orders in addition to eating my own. I ordered the bahn cuon, a che ba mau, and had some cha gio. — Banh Cuon — 8 rather large pieces(cut from 4 rolls), filled with lots of wood ear and a decent amount of meat. The skin is very thin and smooth. I thought it was lacking in flavor since the nuoc cham was not salty enough, but it was pretty cheap so I am not complaining. — Che Ba Mau — Not enough red beans, NO mung beans :(, but good amount of green jelly. They gave canned jackfruit slices and square coconut jelly instead of the mung bean. Overall decent flavor(no banana essence!). — Phở Ga(small) — The bowl looked very small when it came out, but it was packed with noodles. The broth was quite flavorful, but a bit on the salty side. — Banh Xeo — Looked rather large, and they gave an ample amount of greens to eat with it. The shrimps were a tad overcooked, and they were lacking in shrimps but very generous with the meat. Was good, but not as crispy as I’d like it. — Cha Gio — Very crispy, and packed full with meat and wood ear. The pickled daikon and carrots on the side tasted old.

I was in the mood for some phở so i decided to check out this place. My first impression was«oh crap, there’s no one in here. must be bad!» but thankfully i was wrong! Right after we were seated, a bunch of groups started to flood in. The menu is smaller than ones you’d normally find at other Phở places and there aren’t alot of chicken phở choices for a place with the words«chicken phở» in its name. The chicken phở was pretty good, it come with thicker«hoa fun» instead of the normal phở noodles but i was pretty disappointed in the chicken that comes with the phở. Before i ordered, i asked the guy if it had bones in it and he said«no». but when i got my ordered there was a bone in it! not only that but there was only like 4 small pieces of chicken in the phở :( the good thing is that the phở soup was awesome! you can tell that it’s real chicken soup and none of that msg crap. and the server was nice enough to give me a big plate of bean sprouts :)

This place is not bad: Clean, decent food, normal prices. The thing is their food or price does not stick out enough for people to make this their regular. Their menu is very limited(like 9 items) and although they have different pictures for each item, they are named the same ie 1. Chicken noodle soup 2. Chicken noodle soup 3. Chicken noodle soup. You will only know the difference if you look at the picture, but if you dont the prices will throw you off since chicken noodle soup number 1 will be $ 5 while chicken noodle soup number 2 will be $ 6. I probably won’t be coming back here again, not because they are bad but because I have had better.

I have seen the Grand Opening sign for a time and finally tried went on Sunday to try it out. I thought it was good to see a new restaurant here after the previous one has been here(looked like it was Russian) but seldom seemed open. The menu was very simple: about 25 items total, all with photos. I went for the beef phở. It was okay, but was disappointing in that there was no ligaments or tripe which I usually expect. Also the beef is done ordinary style, not the brisket or flank type which I normally expect also. The menu did show they had Hai Nan chicken rice which looked good, coming with a large bowl of soup(at least on the photo it looked big). I think I will try that next time and bypass the phở. Even if I order phở, I will try the chicken one instead.

It was a foggy, grey day… the perfect time to try phở ga at the new phở restaurant. The menu is surprisingly short: 10 items on the picture menu(noodle soups, rice plates) with some appetizers and drinks listed on the wall. The chicken porridge has already been crossed off. * Phở Ga($ 5.95 for a small, $ 6.95 for a large): wide flat rice noodles in a light, slightly sweet piping hot chicken broth, topped with a few pieces of skin-on boiled plain chicken and cilantro, with sprouts, jalapeño, a wedge of lemon, and ginger sauce on the side. The ginger in the sauce tasted jarred and a bit bitter. There was barely any chicken. The décor is simple and the lights are bright. The lights might be leftover from the Russian restaurant that was here before LTK. I like how they kept the large picture of Russia. Grand opening promotion: Free soda Cash only.

A nice little restaurant that just recently opened. I ordered their chicken noodle soup and it was good(it’s hard to make this bad). Noodles and soup were tasty. a sauce was provided for the chicken, which rarely happens at other places. However, a small bowl is very small when compared to the other phở places near this place.

I was here for their grand opening and tried their Phở Ga Chat. The noodle soup was just right for my taste. Not too salty and not too bland. The noodle that comes with the soup is the flat thick noodle. The chicken comes on the side with a good portion. Also tried their spring rolls. which tasted really fresh and good. I came back today to try the Com Ga Hai Nam. Good amount of rice with a lot of chicken. They also give you a side of soup which taste really good. Overall, they have a small menu but their food satisfied my expectations. Clean and efficient service. They’re open from 11am to 11pm, which is good for late night eaters and closed on Tuesday. Giving them 5 stars and will be back for more!

Dinner on the night of their grand opening. Sure, there were a few kinks in service, like forgetting some orders, but I won’t hold it against them since it was their first night! Besides, as soon as we asked about what was forgotten, it was quickly brought out in a matter of minutes. Ordered my usual, Phở Tai(Noodles with Rare Steak) with the meat on the side. I was a little confused when it came out with the same broth as the Phở Ga(chicken phở) and not a beef broth, but I sure didn’t mind after I had a taste. The broth was rich, flavorful and probably made me exceed my sodium intake for the day. But, that’s the way I like it. The meat was tiny tenderized meat chunks like they do it at Loi’s on Irving and not thin slices. Yum :) The carnivore in me was happy! The Cha Gio eggrolls were awesome. You could see the super fresh ground meat and wood ear mushrooms chunks in the filling. It was unlike a lot of other places where the ingredients are ground up or blended together into one big mush. To give you an idea of how awesome these eggrolls were, I ate two(about 5 inches) after finishing my bowl of phở. Oh, for those that are wondering about portion size, the phở sizes are small and regular. The small is actually quite small, which is why I managed to cram 2 eggrolls into my belly after finishing my bowl of phở. But, hey, I pick quality over quantity.
