I rarely write reviews but I have to say that Irene Minkowsky is one of my favorite physicians. I have had intermittent pudendal neuralgia for years and just recently herniated two discs. I came to her for help with the sciatica that was keeping me up at night. After 5 rounds of prolotherapy I can say I barely have any remaining symptoms. I mean maybe one to five percent of what it once was. She has been remarkably helpful in my overall treatment which revolves around unstable hips and SI joints. I highly recommend her and will do what I can to keep seeing her in the future. Some of the fastest results I have had on a medical condition without having to take a ton of medications.

I’ve been coming here since the late ‘80s. The Physicians Back Institute is run by a husband and wife team who are both MDs(internal medicine and physical medicine respectively) and are affiliated with major hospitals in San Francisco. They also practice osteopathy or osteopathic medicine emphasizing a holistic approach including actual manipulation(no cracking), educating the patient about exercises and lifestyle changes. They don’t need Med. Degrees to practice osteopathy, but if you’re nervous about trying a non-traditional approach, then you’ve got doctors here who use the best of both worlds of traditional and non-traditional medicine. The doctors can also write prescriptions and take most mainstream health insurance. Drs. Minkowsky are very warm, personable and committed to their profession. They’ve been in the profession for quite a few decades, but study up on the latest medical trends and incorporate the most effective ones. I got a foam roller here for my back way before sporting goods shops starting selling them.
