Very small compared to other festivals I’ve been to. There were maybe 3 – 4 food stands, and it was your typical fair food(garlic fries, gyros, etc.). The one thing that stood out was Skool with their ceviche bowls, but I didn’t try it because I’d just come from lunch. The food is what I come for, but the other vendors weren’t that interesting either. Can’t even remember what they were :\ Might be fun to check out if you live in the area, but don’t go out of your way to come.

The 20th Annual Potrero Hill Festival was held this past weekend to a sterling crowd on an inviting San Francisco afternoon. This is the little festival with a big view. If you have not been to the Potrero Library, please check out the picturesque view of downtown San Francisco from the 2nd floor. This one day event spanned three city wide blocks on 20th street, between Missouri and Wisconsin. This year, the festival kicked off with a New Orleans Jazz Brunch at the Potrero Hill Neighborhood House, catered by the California Culinary Academy. The festival showcased over over 40 of Potrero Hill’s local artists, merchants, restaurateurs & nonprofit organizations. The main stage played to live bands, musical performances, and dancers. For the children, the festival provided them with a bouncy house, pony rides, and a petting zoo containing many different animals, including piglets, rabbits, lamb, a turkey and a turtle. The Potrero Hill Festival was a green event and its proceeds went to The Potrero Hill Neighborhood House which offers programs for the community, including youth and senior nutrition, employment and supplemental education programs and programs for developmentally disabled adults. So, I helped to chip in by gobbling down a very tasty Lamb Shawarma and a BBQ Brisket Sandwich from a couple of the food vendors.
