Hip spot right on Divis, Their mocha’s the best in the biz. The donuts are tasty, well frosted and cakey, and the baristas were nice to my kids.

I love Repose. I love living in San Francisco because of the coffee culture. I go out of my way for a great cup of coffee. Friends were visiting and just map-searched for a coffee spot, found Repose closest to my house, and the second morning they were visiting I went with them. It was a surprise, I had not yet seen Repose– It’s a small and cozy spot, and on the opposite side of the street from my usual walking path, so i had never seen it. Repose has, in my opinion, some of the best coffee in the city! It is now one of my favorite spots in my neighborhood! I love knowing the owner, and that there is a sister Repose in Sebastopol. The quiche is amazing, and every coffee drink I’ve had there has been incredible.

Repose has the best coffee! I’m in love with this place. It’s the cutest shop and the staff is beyond friendly. It’s literally the highlight of my day to go there and get a latte. I love you guys!

On a warm sunny SF day, one of the first things that come to mind is iced coffee. In checking out Repose, I immediately went for their Japanese iced coffee, which is essentially coffee concentrate(made different than your traditional iced coffee brew). There aren’t too many places in SF that do coffee like this, so to have it(even at $ 4 each) was certainly a treat. Their banana bread with chocolate chips was also a great treat — I wish I could have stayed longer when more seats had opened up. The entire shop is teeny tiny but cozy enough if you were to bring a friend and talk about the delicious Flying Goat beans.

I moved to SF in July and had been on the hunt for the right coffee shop to start my day for months. Not just a place to get caffeine and breakfast, but the kind that gives you a feeling of community. I had a great one back on the East coast, had tried a bunch of different cafés in the Lower Haight, but am so glad I finally found Repose. They have amazing pour over coffee, espresso drinks, hand-filled loose tea, fresh lilies that always smell amazing, organic hardboiled eggs, and really yummy donuts/baked treats that are difficult to avoid. My BF also swears they have the best mocha in the city. Super quick, convenient, and close to the muni/tech shuttle hubs– I like that I don’t have to worry about missing the bus anymore as I can peak out the door and hustle if I see it coming. More so, everyone who works there is so sweet, genuine, and welcoming. I love the little routine I have built with the team there. James even gave me a free tumeric ginger tea when I said my throat was sore, and for me it is those little gestures that set Repose apart. There are a ton of cafés int the city, but if you are looking for a place where the baristas remember your order and brighten your morning, I would definitely check out this little coffee bar on Divis.

Good quality coffee and good pastries. Cute little place with lots of light but not a lot of seating. It’s good for take and go.

In the morning, I just want a nice strong iced coffee — and I want it fast. Repose delivers. I’ve tried all of the other cafes in the Divis corridor, and Repose serves the BEST black iced coffee around. Plus, it’s no nonsense, quick in and out.

I absolutely love this Coffee Bar. I am by no means a coffee snob, but I do love a great cup of coffee. We have so many choices in SF — I thought I had found the best — until I found Repose. I love the look and feel of the store, the design is flawless and well done. The staff are VERY attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. They offer ideas to customize your coffee to make it just right for you. That is part of why I say its the best coffee I have ever had. And I am serious when I say that. I have had 6 or 7 different coffees here and enjoyed them all. I have to pass more than 12 coffee bars to get to Repose — but I make time for that walk whenever I am in town as its really worth it. The coffee and service are the main star, but dont miss out on the pasty. The pasty is also OMG delicious! I recently met the owner — James. Now I understand why this place is so amazing, he puts his whole heart and soul in to this operation. There is just something special about a business where the owner is involved in EVERYTHING and cares so much, and loves the business so much. You can tell in the end result — a really awesome cup of coffee, delivered by exceptional staff who have a true desire to please. Repose is a MUSTTRY!

Small cute café with a good cappuccino. It wasn’t sour! There’s only a small seating area in the front by the window.

Such a quaint and cute coffee shop in Lower Haight. The staff was friendly, nice, and they made an excellent vanilla latte — one of the best I’ve had in the city. I was even offered a free donut and it was delicious. Definitely recommend the salted caramel donut; however, all donuts looked great, so I’m sure you can’t go wrong with any of them. Space is REALLY small and no wifi available, so not an ideal work space but I had plenty of room on the bar along the window to read. This is a great spot to get coffee to-go while you walk around the neighborhood. A bit pricey, as a donut is $ 3.75 and I paid $ 4.50 for a latte with almond milk, without tip, but an excellent latte so the price is justified. Another thing: they close at 4 everyday, which can a be a bummer :\ Overall cool and hip coffee shop in Lower Haight and probably some of the best coffee you’ll get in the neighborhood!

I love visiting Repose, it’s such a great addition to the neighborhood. Before the only place I could get coffee was Vinyl, which is great but more of a place to work out of. Repose serves flying goat coffee which I have come to love even more than Blue Bottle. They also have this amazing loose leaf tea by Rishi. Treats to go, hard boiled eggs, what’s not to love? James and his entire team at Repose are friendly, cool people. Thanks for making this block great. Side note– it’s right near Yoga Garden which the perfect after class treat.

Friendly atmosphere and delicious coffee! I think it’s a good spot for grab and go only though. It has a few stools for sitting but definitely not the best spot to enjoy a coffee at. Very nice décor and friendly staff :) Keep up with the good work!

Coffee tasted good, very limited seating, knowledgeable and friendly service, and cute décor. I was grabbing lunch next door and stumbled upon this dainty coffee shop and was immediately greeted by a friendly barista. I couldn’t help but notice the cute modern/victorian décor. Black walls. Decorative mirrors. Ivory countertops. The barista patiently waited as I peeked at the menu and asked him what Japanese coffee was. He explained the brewing methods and was very knowledgeable. He also complimented me on my sunglasses and that kind of made my day. Would love to see some more pastries/breakfast items. I would come back again when i’m in the area! mmm… WHAT I ORDERED: Iced coffee

Friendly, fast, fab. Welcome addition to the hood. Happy to have a spot with reliable service + consistent drinks. Small space that they use well. It gets a little crowded at certain times in the morning(5 min before tech shuttles arrive at the corner), but they seem to handle it pretty well. They’re planning to expand upon the pastry selection with some hot items but I would personally love to see some fresh fruit options. A nice fruit salad, maybe parfaits or even just bananas.

Cool new place in the hood. Very minimal, monochrome-ish aesthetic, which I like. They serve Rishi, and while it’s hard to mess up steeping, the tea was a welcome and warm comfort on a foggy day.

Repose. Why I can +‘s: + Five bar stools are the only seats available by the window. Not really a spot to ensconce oneself but the limited seating means not a lot of chatter. Hence yes quiet for some repose. + Ritual Coffee beans to make my $ 3.75 latte on the way to N Train + Sweet delectables are tempting like shortbread and doughnuts with bacon topping + Dark walls and floors. I dig it. + Friendly folks. Why I can’t -‘s: — Coffee and pastry may have to be to go when I want to hangout and can’t. Great little place on Divisadero where more places are popping up to offset Popeyes down the street.

Time: 1:27pm/66°F sunny Purpose: Going up Divisadero on my way to Richmond district. Then it struck me, paper covering is taking down with front door open. I totally forgot about this place mention since last year. Thought project was abandoned with no promise of a café. Ambiance: Repose is a place with a five person seater along the front window area. The seats are shape in a form of your butt, made of sanded contour wood and painted black. Color scheme here is black/white with Parisian Gothic facades themes. Chest high dark wood paneling surrounds most of the place. Vintage mirrors of different sizes and shapes hung on wall meticulously. Marble counter tops for both patron as well as the shop’s main counter. Resting on top of it, a LaMarzocco two chamber extractor with Mezzer grinder. Was neat to see a matte black gold leaf espresso machine, matching the gothic like theme. Rest of the items on counter were cake pedestal with dome covers displaying baked goods, pour over set up and iPad. Utensils/condiments self help at end of window counter. Oversized blackboard takes up the space behind counter with limited offerings. Not sure if rest of blackboard space will be utilize when more offerings comes onto play. Staff: Two guys about early 30s could be owners or simply workers. Greeted me prior to walking in with nice and friendly vibes. Briefly gave me introduction of the place and what they’re know for. Other guy kept to himself, but was working on some sort of a drink. First guy didn’t push for me to buy just letting me know there will be hot food coming in near future. Cleanliness: Grade A+, immaculate. Not a dust ball or and grit of sand can be pick up from anywhere. No posted certification, but going by the looks of place. Shouldn’t be an issue here. Eats/Drinks: Didn’t feel like eating anything too warm. Just wanted a drink went with a cappuccino $ 3.50, strong smooth and foamy. A little on the bitter side, but that maybe just me. I just ate a lemonhead less than 10 minutes ago, so sour still linger on tongue. Anyways, as expected with beans from Ritual, same jolting taste no matter who or where its made at. Ginger cranberry scone was eyeing me, but I was too full to even attempt it. Next time! Products/Services: Coffee-house drip, espresso, cappuccino, macchiato, latte, americano, café au lait, V60 pour over, gibraltar, mocha, vanilla latte, Japanese iced coffee, New Orleans iced coffee, chai/matcha latte, vanilla steamer, hot chocolate. Beans by Ritual/tea by Rishi. Pastries by Batter Bakery with Dynamo Donuts coming by end of week. Hand stamp cups. Main Features: V60 pour over, gibraltar, Japanese and New Orleans iced coffee. Punch Lines: Pleasing flavor, modest cost, seats are minimal, goth theme, warm service, wood paneling, calm vibes, warm and elegant, décor leaves something to desired, light bites, zippy service, can’t go wrong, industrial interior, kept its standards, street parking, busy street. Tradeoffs: Standard basic thrid wave café offerings with a gibraltar drink listed to make it a stand out in the area. Final Thoughts: It’s just another café located in the lower Haight area. Difference is the goth theme makes your mind set focus on the place rather than other surrounding happenings. Seems like a on going trending thing, were cafes offers as little seating as possible, but offers premium beans to make up for limited space.

What a great addition to Divis. This adorable and delicious coffee shop is currently having a soft opening. I’m sure that in a week or so, it will already be a fixture of the neighborhood. They serve Ritual Coffee here which is new to the neighborhood, I think. Four Barrel is available at The Mill, down the street. As they’re just getting started they didn’t have their pastries out yet, but from what i understand, they’ll have Dynamo Donuts. The staff are super friendly and really good at making coffee — in a little bit of a coffee snob and the latte that I had was great. And Ritual isn’t my favorite roast. But I’m completely sold by this place. I’ll be back often.
