I hate writing negative reviews.
This review isn’t really even about the store itself.
I went in yesterday to get supplies and the only girl working was REALLY REALLY sick. Like runny nose, coughing horribly, with a stuffy misreable sounding voice. I tried to stay away from her but she was the only person on the floor. I’m a hairdresser. I work with people but also, when I’m sick, I loose money and clients. No paid sick days or excuses. I have to call everyone and tell them I’m sick and can’t do their hair. So I wake up this morning and I A M SICK. So lame.
Stay home when you are sick, especially when you work with the public. But double especially if you work with hairdressers. PLEASE!

Rude. I never feel comfortable to shop in this store all the time. I am going to buy that product that is why I just simply put inside the box. She said ：“can I have that box?” While I am still carrying the box on my hand. She put it back in side nicely and leave it on the side. I just confused why she got it and leave it on the side. I asked her why u ask it from me and just put it on side. She said I just put it back nicely because I dump the product in there. Hey ! I m not that rude person dump in the product in the box and put it back. I guess she is not enjoy working in the store. Can you pay a little more to hire people better in customer service? Never want to come back here. Now is tueday in the morning.

I have been here Monday January 19 and the manager is just so rude I been picking stuff up for my mom and I came in with my mom yesterday and didn’t let us buy it. Her name is Katie I hope she gets fired or I won’t be back !!

I’ve been here once and the woman over the phone and the one helping out in store were very sweet and helpful. Will definitely be back.

The worst customer service. I’ve called the district manager to complain that’s how bad the service is! I absolutely refuse to shop here.

I just have to say… I really love all ladies at Salon Centric! They will always help you to the best of their ability.” These group of ladies work very hard and have long shifts, so cut them some slack already.” Yes this business was purchased from a corporation a few years back from the Maly’s. So if you’ve noticed changes that you’re not happy with… take it up with the LOREAL Corp. And maybe on your next visit you’ll have a little more understanding and patience. Love my ladies at Salon Centric on Geary… Keep up all the great work that you do for us professionals! :-)

I have shopping here for my color supplies for years and I have gotten to know some of the staff and they are so helpful and kind to me… Service beyond the call of duty. Once I forgot an important product and one of the staff drove it over to me… Another time i dropped in without my car and was going to have to carry $ 200 worth of color for an hour and AMY went and found a promotional backpak to give me so I could carry my products, And we all know how heavy beauty products can be … 5 stars for Salon Centric. for location,.products, and service.

I will have to agree with J.M. Ive been helping my mom picking stuff up from this place for quite a long time now & ever since they change and hire new staff, the new employee are very rude & unprofessional. I recently got into an argument with one of the employee. I was suppose to pick up a package 8 sets of Matrix shampoo for mom who came in the morning & paid for the stuff. When i arrive my bf helped me get the stuff but apparently they do not know what my bf is talking about & this is not the first time my mom has order a large amount of product & left it there for me to pick it up… to make it short they say the person who sold the product to my mom this morning left early & did not leave a notes or receipt for the other employee so they cannot give me the package since I don’t have a receipt. which is okay with me but I was so pissed because the whole time the old lady was trying to put the blame on me with her attitude saying if you don’t have a receipt I’m not going to give it to you (with her attitude all up in my face too) if you were me you’ll be pissed too…& It pissed me off because is your employee fault for forgetting to put a receipt or notes (like she always does those other time when I pick up) instead of not apologize to me the old lady even gave my mom attitude while speaking to her through the phone & my mom English is very limited .in the end I have to curse her out for being such a rude & unprofessional employee! I mean at her age shouldn’t she have manner? This old lady is an inconsiderate person in her mid 60s (shame on you old lady!) & every time I encounter her before this incident, she never smile, always have a pissed off facial expression, & very rude to her customer. I do not know why they are so rude it’s not like We get our stuff for free! We pay for it just like others. Overall, if I can give this place a zero I would! Straight up unprofessional.

I have shopped here for the past 3 years and have always appreciated the staff for being helpful and courteous. Something has changed and I no longer feel comfortable in this establishment and would like to give my business to another supplier. The problem I have is the location is great and they have what I need, but some new employees have been unprofessional, disrespectful and are lacking in the most basic rules of customer service. I am so disappointed…

It is for liscensed cosmotoligists or students only. The prices are great they do not carry ghd however.

Always sweet people at the counter, so helpful, answering my buckshot of questions. Great selection of products, and if they don’t have it, they think of something comparable. You can mess around with the makeup at the counter, spend as much time as you want scoping the deals of the month. There are plenty of samples, manager specials and testers. For licensed cosmetologists only, but I always bring my friend and let her go to town. They don’t seem to mind.

REDKEN… There that’s all that needs to be said. I’m a Redken devotee.
And they have every single product they make and always have it in stock, from the best flat brushes to every Shades EQ color and Gels to every different conditioning product immaginable.
BTW, this store is for liscensed Cosmetologists only.
I come here now instead of buying Manolo shoes…

Went there for a Redken haircolor class. The manager was helpful checking me in and showing me around. Friendly, professional, shelves are stocked. Parking wasn’t a bitch, cuz I just parked on a side street.

They open early– even on Saturdays! STAR
They had plenty of parking close by. STAR
They had what I was looking for in stock. STAR
Sales girl was really nice
and helpful
and knowledgable,
even before 8:30am on a Saturday. STAR
Got out of there and to work on time. STAR

I’m so glad I found this city location of Maly’s cuz I kept driving out to So, City West Coast beauty supply. And i hate that whole tanforan area so this find is such a plus. They had everything that i needed, staff was helpful (I don’t carry my license on me, they either didn’t care/​could tell i knew my shit, but didn’t hassle me bout it when i was checking out… major plus)…

im like that hunky older brother in high school, a senior who is 18 and can buy beer, and my friends are like the freshmen, who wait outside the 7 – 11 for me to buy it for them.
this place is a cosmetology license only supply store.
Maly’s is where i lug all the bottles of purology from when i am stocking up my shop.
…and where i buy my clients their tourmaline blow dryers.
its small and limited, but friendly.
