We really like this place. I had the chicken avocado sandwich my dad had a breakfast bagel sandwich and my mom had the chicken wrap. Very good food. The restaurant it’s self was cute. Our table had Marylyn monroe face painted on it. The restaurant staff were very friendly and service was excellent. We are only here for a couple more days but we will be back. Thank you Sammy’s café for making our tummys happy.

Ordered through Marriott Marquis dine in service. Didn’t receive the 3 hash browns we ordered. Didn’t receive the flour tortilla we ordered. Didn’t receive the butter we ordered. No condiments. No utensils. No napkins. Was charged $ 5 delivery fee plus I gave a $ 4 tip when I ordered online. So not only did I not get the food I paid for I also gave them and extra $ 9 for awful service.(Yes they were also rude and totally unprofessional when I called). Offered no way to make it up. Just left me on hold so long I gave up. $ 39 breakfast for 3 half decent breakfast sandwiches. Go somewhere else.

I could’ve made the exact Reuben sandwich at home. Nothing special! I asked for dutch crunch bread for the crunch-why the heck would you heat it up!!! Like I said– nothing special.

While staying in SF this past weekend I stayed a hotel right down the street from Sammys. Tried it for breakfast one morning. The blueberry muffin I ordered was cold, and very dense and dry, definitely wouldn’t order that again. Like other reviewers I tried the breakfast burrito although it was good it was very pricey at $ 8 for a small burrito. Didn’t get full from it. The most surprising thing is to see that they had a food delivery prior to us getting there because the food(lettuce, eggs, bread etc) were sitting out on the floor if that isn’t bad enough we were there almost 30 mins and the food up until we even left was still sitting on the floor outside the chiller(major health code violation) won’t be returning.

1 Star because food was okay and that’s the lowest rating possible. Low rating because our Eat24 order was 1 hour and 20 minutes late. Best part, the order was incomplete upon arrival. This was for a business lunch and we will not be ordering from here again.

Had breakfast burrito w/sausage and spinach tortilla. Very tasty. Nothing was chopped up but layered and rolled up. Will definitely return and try other items on the menu.

What a gem of a place right off Polk street. I loved their selection of teas and I’ll definitely come back multiple times to try them — there are a lot. I thought the food was reasonably priced and cooked well. There’s also a lot of room to sit and hang out.

This may be my first complaint ever on Unilocal. Ordered two breakfast burritos and proceeded to wait two hours for delivery when I was told it would take an hour. The food isn’t bad, but the service is nonexistent.

There was a bit of a language barrier. Asked for a lot of stuff on a 2 top table. So ill let it slide. They mused the extra toppings on the Philly. But it was non the less. Ordered 4 sandwiches. All were delicious! Philly being the fav. Ordered a huge chicken ceasar salad that was also great. Had oolong hot tea and it all hit the spot.

I have no problem giving this gem a 5 star review. There are other, larger, cafés in the area that are all lacking customer service, quality, and speed. Sammys hits all those nails on the head. Order over the phone first and it will be hot and ready when you arive.

expensive sandwiches without enough meat… Tips for all sandwich shop owners: 1) make sure you have wheat roll, sourdough roll, ciabatta, Dutch crunch and soft roll(for idiots who don’t know soft rolls suck by comparison) 2) toast bread by default 3) stack the f*** out of your sandwiches. If I don’t get enough MEAT on my sandwich i will never return to your sandwich shop. Same goes for all other male customers. 4) do not charge more than $ 8 before tax for any sandwiches ever. Smaller margins but more customers. There are too many competitors to keep large margins and expect customers to return. 5) always have fresh veggies and never use diced lettuce like your a fast food place. We want romaine lettuce. 6) have extra thick bacon. Crisp but not burnt. Cook in oven. That’s it. That’s all you have to do and you will never stop making money. Most importantly though… As a customer, I need to feel like I was given more meat than expected, that is, if you want me to leave happy. Meat meat meat and lots of it. Meat = everything in the sandwich world. Hope you guys take this to heart!

My favs being the toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and bacon and the turkey bacon sammich on a sourdough roll! Major bacon loveee. lol clean, tidy, and consistently great food and service!

For weekday lunch, I tried the Chicken Pesto Sandwich Grilled chicken breasts on a roll with pesto sauce, topped with parmesan and melted provolone cheese which tasted really good with the melted cheese infused with the yummy bread was very excellent. I will come back for the sandwich again.

I’m a fan of their breakfast sandwiches, and especially their turkey and cranberry sandwich on ciabatta bread, most definitely delicious. It’s also easy to order through the EAT24 site for immediate pickup. It’s my go to place also for ordering sandwiches for lunch meetings. My only complaint? Today I ordered an egg, bacon, & cheese sandwich on a croissant online. I also opted to pay $ 1 extra for hash browns and another $ 1 to have it made on a croissant. Although it was delicious, melty, and hot… they forgot to put bacon in it. I was so disappointed! I only ate ½ of it because I really missed the bacon not being on there. Mind you, this won’t stop me from going there again, but please«ZIAD»! Please don’t forget the bacon next time! Thank you =)

3.1 stars on grub hub. I’ve seen bad reviews on grub hub but I don’t know why. I ordered turkey bacon sandwich for delivery and boy OH boy I was not disappointed!!! It had everything I could ask for. It’s a bit pricey $ 7.99 but damn worth it! Turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onions, mayo, pepperoncini, jalapeños, avocado, cucumber, sprouts and swiss cheese. YUM!

Time: 12:23pm/56°F intermittent cloud Purpose: On New Years eve I came by but, it was closed, try back again on this first day of work week after NY’s. Suprise to see no one has put them up yet. Wonder why? No problem it’s my gain now. Ambiance: Combine kitschy décor with wood paneling you’ll end up with a place with a rustic nostalgia feel. Sandwich ad board outside with fading color pics and prices. Inside to your immediate left/right four seat cushions place on top of window front with small table. Vintage cast iron stove(nonfunctional), cracked wall with brick design, all wooden tables of different shapes/sizes, some high chairs and tables, porcelain like table tops with famous people, frame art of each SF neighborhood, communal table with wooden high back. Counter with 3 tier wooden pastry box, a basket of assorted snacks, register, tip jar, menu holder, wall line with tin cans of tea, digital espresso machine, grinder, soda fountain, prepping counter, single door cold beverage fridge. Very quiet as you can have good private convo inner back, mob style. Staff: Two girls around early to mid 20s, one does front end duties other cook/prep both very quiet. By the looks of their faces they look tired and bored or like someone is harassing them prior to me coming in. One guy late 40s also seems weird, maybe owner. I said«hi», he look at me like he never heard of that word. As a matter of fact all three of them was really quiet. Now, I’m no dummy here! Something did happen earlier. I wasn’t there but, body language tells me otherwise. Cleanliness: Grade B, well kept good to go. Utensil counter needs organizing and replenish. Eat/Drinks: Croissant $ 2.50 and turkey & bacon wrap $ 7.49. Made a mistake on both items not by them but, me. Having so much experience under my belt in the food industry yet, I still pay for shitty goods like these. Croissant was like a 3M scouring pad, dry and rough with no fluff or flakiness. Turkey wrap was smaller than their previous location. When handed over, I look at it and giggle. The girth wasn’t there and so was the fillings. I only enjoy the real strips of crispy bacon layer up nicely. Rest of the wrap mediocre at best. Products/Services: Bagels, pastries/danishes, muffins, scones, cake loaf, croissants, coffee cake, brownies, breakfast sandwich/burrito, salads, wraps, usual sandos of turkey/roast beef/corn beef/ham/salami, pastrami/tuna. Coffee, espressos, latte, mocha, chai tea, specialty sandwich, veggie delight, soda fountain(not self served), Synergy kombucha/Naked juice smoothies, special tea blends, chips, snacks, candies, trail mix. Free Wi-Fi password: 1416BUSHST. Punch Lines: Old world feel, décor leaves something to desired, budget watchers, wood paneling, calm, kitschy décor, light bites, snooty service, off putting, nothing out of the ordinary, attitude at the door, sleeper, quite bland, not as good, small portions, pastry case looks unappealing, pretentious, a throw back/retro past, no entertainment of any kind. Choice of tortilla wraps. Street parking(read posted time), located on a 5−6% incline hill on Bush street. Tradeoffs: After moving to a new place portions are even smaller now. A sign of funds use to bring place up to date but, left out the essential ingredients for food production. Final Thoughts: Sometimes moving to a newer bigger location doesn’t necessarily means food will improve. In this case it was just the opposite that happen. By the looks of place looks like they’re banking on loose tea as their bread and butter for funding this nostalgia look. Most places with breakfast danishes wrapped in plastic tells me they can sell day after day. So where’s the signature item here? Can’t think of anything else to say about this place other than weird not engaging. Cold eerie feel is what you encounter when you come. Silver lining here would be nostalgic retro feel nothing more. I say try it once as you may find something worth returning for but, for me adiós amigos.
